@▫ aphrodite Demeter had closed her eyes, content with listening to the small buzz of life that would often make a symphony in the air. She knew all the creatures of the Earth were already seeking shelter and that was evident as the buzz of life slowly continued to fizzle out. She could even begin to smell the rain in the air, it was a pleasant smell to her now, admittedly she hadn't started out quite fond of storms, especially those involving thunder. Demeter tended to have a negative disposition with anything related to her brother. However, after going through decades among mortals, she had gained a newfound appreciation for storms. She began to see the beauty in it's chaos. The way mortals would go out to play in light showers and the way that contrasted with the heavy winds that sometimes overtook her land and made way for new flowers and life to bloom. Without opening her eyes Demeter's lips quirked up as she turned her head into the direction Aphrodite's voice had come from. "One could say both. A little thunderstorm never hurt me and....I don't mind distracting you this evening."

@◦ demeter Aphrodite peeked over a bush, a little smile playing on his lips. The sky was starting to gray over, and he knew that rain would come soon. Despite living in Olympus, Aphrodite spent most, if not all, of his time in the mortal realm. He was surrounded by cities and pavement, so being here in the gardens make him smile. As the wind started to pick up, and the air started getting cold. He loved the rain, though heavy rain scared him for the thunder to come. It reminded him of Zeus and his angry wake. He knew it was going to storm, which was why he asked Demeter to join him. Accompaniment as he shivered in fear and the cold temperature. He still loved them, regardless. He came to the mortal realm and began to love it, appreciated it because of the mortals. They would watch the rain patter against metal roofs, see the thunder at a safe distance. Maybe Demeter had also been influenced by this and had loved the storms just as he did. It came to his mind, and then to his lips, once he saw said goddess, laying in a bed of beautiful flowers. "Do you love thunderstorms?" He asked, voice soft as he laid next to her, shoulder touching hers. "Or are you just here to help me through it?"
@▪ persephone Aphrodite liked spending most of his time in this mortal realm. Not because of the surroundings, though beautiful and luscious, unlike that of Olympus, he still loved Olympus. It was a dream to live in, surrounded by those who seemed to understand the bores of immortality. However, that was just it: immortality was boring. For some, they wasted their days trying to fill something in them. Aphrodite, however, spent his days differently.
He was fascinated by mortals: wholly enthralled by them. Perhaps it was because he was the god of love; it was always on his mind. He loved sitting in the park and watch couples, loved watching how they interacted, loved seeing them together. Sometimes, when aphrodite felt particularly lonely, he wouldn't come around to the park. Instead, he would sit in the gardens just outside the entrance to Olympus. He loved flowers, absolutely adored the delicate beauty they had. While he was often associated with roses, often having them in his hands in paintings: he was so much more intrigued by everything: gardenias, tulips, daffodils, everything. Some would say he was a bit too "kind" to the uglier things in life: people, animals, creatures of the sort. Aphrodite didn't care, no not usually, being the god of beauty didn't mean he found things to their beauty standard. No, everything was beautiful — the tiny beetles making a home on a lovely flower, or the toads that leapt into ponds. Aphrodite smiled at them all the same as if they were his children.
In the heat that was Greece, Aphrodite felt his already bronzed skin turn a bit more tanned. The sun was hot, almost stifling in the way it beat down; the hour clocked at about noon. The sun was at its highest, Aphrodite smiling at his old friend.
He sat on a small cut out piece of marble, in the middle of the gardens, surrounded by little bees and other insects. Mortals passed him, taking a moment to stare at the sun-kissed Aphrodite, peered at the god statues that stippled the area. He heard various things, murmurs or whispers, all from the mortals who strolled about the gardens. What he didn't expect to hear was a magical giggle in his right ear. Many effeminate giggles surrounded him; for the most part, he would ignore them. They were fawning over the god himself, wanting to take a better peek at him. But this was different — in the sense that it had a familiar twinge to it. Nymphs, perhaps? He wouldn't put it past them to linger in an area such as this. It was just that it wasn't just a nymph, but a goddess. He rose from his seat, walking about the gardens, searching for this twinkling laughter.
@▫ aphrodite Demeter heaved a sigh as she settled down near a shrub. She loved seeing the wonderful little sprouts that would emerge from the Earth, adored watching them and taking care of them as she breathed life into them while taking care of the rest of the garden. She had momentarily considered making her way to Olympus to see her daughter but Persephone hadn't bothered her in a while so she assumed she was still doing well. If anything once her daughter wanted to see her she would make her presence in her life known, unable to be ignored. Unwittingly a smile graced her features as she thought of her own little blossomed flower. She had also thought of visiting the shrines that had been constructed for her but all those thoughts evaporated when dark clouds started settling in around the garden, foreshadowing the impending storm. Relaxing, she laid down on the bed of already wilting flowers, belatedly recalling her earlier conversation with Aphrodite and absentmindedly wondering if the other would indeed show up.
@▪ thanatos Nibbling on his bottom lip to hold in his disappointment at the outburst Calypso nodded, afraid of saying anything else that would upset the man as he tried to gather his thoughts forcing his mind over and over to not utter the words that nearly had Thanatos prepared to leave without a second thought. Instead the petite male busied himself with taking another experimental bite of the bread much larger this time. "You own a restaurant too?! That's the fancy places that sell different kinds of foods right? Like a market except the food is already prepared for you?" He asked for clarification though the god's pure smile returned to think that Thanatos didn't hate him as much as he'd thought if he was offering to see him again
A deep blush flourished across porcelain skin at the unexpected touch, such affection having escaped him for so long that the nymph had to resist succumbing to tears from how nice it felt causing his returning smile to brighten even more. "Oh!" Scrambling for the vase he poured another glass full of the euphoric nector while his own remained nearly disregarded in his own fascination towards the loaf in his hands. "I work as an but it's... I don't sleep intimately with anybody I work for." He clarified somehow not wanting the death god to get the wrong impression of him as he struggled to further explain. "I know how it feels to always be alone and sometimes even gods need someone they can share things with, to make them forget about the stress of the day or just help them unwind so, that's what I do. But I... I enjoy singing the most."
@▫ calypso "Stop apologizing Caly." His grip on the glass tighten as he held down his emotion. 'sorry' is the only word he heard the most in the prison. While they're being tortured, those souls keep saying how they felt sorry and defended themselve, still in their individualistic side and wanted to save themselve. If it's other gods who said this, Thanatos might already left the place without words but looking at how innocent the other male was and how he misunderstood him before, he warned him only. "It's okay. I don't mind being here." Sipping on his nectar as his eyes fixed on him as he curious about bread, something he has never had before. A small smile tugged on his face as Calypso ate the bread for the first time. His eyes widen, surpraised with the taste of the loaf bread he brought along.
"That's bread. If you like it, I will bring it everytime I check on my restaurant here." Placing the empty glass aside, his hand reached on the crown of his head, patting it gently, somewhat, his presence kind of giving him a peaceful state of mind. Maybe it's because they're not in underworld but no matter what, he felt at peace being with him. "Since you live here, what's your main job?" He questioned as he raised his empty glass, asking for more Ambrosia since he has finished his drink.
@▪ thanatos Pale emeralds continued their curious roaming of the god intrigued by the simple elegance he embodied unaware that behind those dark shades Thanatos was doing the same. There was an unexplainable confidence there that Calypso could never naturally possess in this foreign environment but perhaps he wasn't so alone in that thought. Thanatos certainly didn't look like the type who would jump at the chance of roaming the elite streets of Olympus littered with pompous royals who often thought too highly of themselves yet who could blame them? They had earned their status and claim both amongst the mortals and the gods. But Thanatos was different. The man was like the faint whispers you hear alone at night forever questioning an entity that wasn't there but knowing you weren't truly alone. There was an eerieness both alluring and terrifying yet he wasn't scared.
"I'm sorry, I truly hadn't thought of how difficult this would be for you until now. I'm still trying to familiarize myself with the territories. Hearing about Olympus and living there are far different from anything I'd expected." Fingers cupped around his own goblet Calypso drank deeply from the rich liquid, the taste indescribable even against his refined palette but it wasn't the ambrosia that held his attention once the bread was introduced. "Bread?" He repeated, taking the large loaf into his palms with a bright grin eyeing the baked dough from every angle. "I've never had bread before... I lived off the whatever my island would provide. Mostly fish of all variety, fruits... But never bread. Is it sweet? Bitter? Hearty?" Silver wisps kissed his pale skin from the venture breeze that wafted around them breaking off a minuscule piece before popping it into his mouth. The airy greens came to life as the odd texture danced a ballet across his tongue, a delicate taste that held a hint of sweetness he'd never could have imagined causing a radiant smile to grace his rose tinted lips. "This is delicious! So this is bread... I must remember that. Bread."
@▫ calypso The god of death eyes never left the brown orbs staring at him as he could see the reflection of himself in his eyes. Compare to other gods here, he seemed fragile and innocent, something he never deal with before no matter how long he has lived in the underworld. None of underworld gods were innocent and some who he has met before tainted as well but Calypso is a pure meaning of innocent. After a small greeting, he placed himself beside the male as he apologized for taking his time, even invited him to Olympus. "The traffic isn't so bad and it's nice to be here once in a while, except for the shining sun of course." Wearing his sunglasses to avoid the sunshine at all cost. Thanatos isn't afraid of sun but being in the underworld for a long time, it's hard to adjusted his sight to the sunshine.
"Oh thank you." He accepted his offer of nectar, a drink that not all gods able to have since it's only for Olympians and some selected god but if you're wealthy enough, you can buy it easily. "I bring some bread, in case you want to have some snack." Placing the bread he bought in the middle before taking a sip of Ambrosia, frowning as it burnt his throat like hell but soothed it away afterwards. They're not for human to drink for a reason. "No matter how many times I have drink this, it's always taste amazing." Chuckling away as his eyes fixed on the nectar before shifting to Calypso. "Like your life here?"
Restless hands began to fiddle in dismay, beginning to lose hope that the offered proposition would really be accepted. He knew nothing of Thanatos or his character, had no clue if the man would actually show up but waiting had always been his eternal curse and Calypso began to wonder if he was forever doomed to repeat it even away from his island home. "Maybe I was mistaken... I shouldn't have assumed..." The man was far more ancient than the Olympians yet he felt like a stubborn child when it came to others.
Tirelessly he checked his small basket to make sure the Ambrosia remained undisturbed, inadvertently pacing the fields in his wake. Thanatos certainly preferred the father atmosphere of the underworld, had it been a mistake to suggest neutral ground? But the alarming sound of another had the god briskly turning to face the stranger who wasn't quite so strange afterall. Pale orbs flickered over the man before him instantly recognizing Thanatos who appeared just as surprised by his own arrival as he was. The misty emeralds began to regain their luster as he peered up at the god shaking his head with a nervous yet excited smile. "N-no I haven't. I don't have a very good sense of time so... Ah sorry I- yes, please sit." Gesturing towards the small platform bedside the fountain Calypso took his place as well. "I hope it wasn't too much trouble coming out here. You're probably very busy so thank you for coming to see me. Are you... You must be hungry." Opening the basket with a gentle smile the silver-haired ancient pulled out the precious vials of nectar handing one over to Thanatos.
@▫ calypso {} What a beautiful writing, sorry if mine
Thanatos isn't really a social person but showing up to public occasionally and that's when a God named Calypso offered to have an ambrosia, which he gladly agreed on since he has not sipped on it for a long time. Claded in his favorite black fitted body shirt and red shorts, he drove his way out from the underworld. Thanatos only out from the underworld if there's something urgent or important but somehow, he managed to convinced him to have an Ambrosia in garden of Olympus. Since not a lot of underworld Gods wanted to be in the shining shimmering place, especially in the morning, he arrived in no time. Came outside with empty hand is not a proper thing to do and therefore, he brought some bread along. "Waiting for long?" He questioned, stopped a step away from the other male, trying to be nice by showing his smile a bit, didn't want to scare his new friend away. "Can I sit?"
@▪ thanatos As promised Calypso arrived bright and early dressed in his usual laid back attire of a simple sheer blouse and jeans of fitted beige reminding him of the sands of home. The bright greens reminiscent of sea foam peered over his gathered bounty in weary trepidation. Not for who his guest would be, no. It was not death incarnate he feared but the presence of another. How long had it been since he sat amongst others of his kind? Had anyone ask for his presence outside of a business setting or with expectations he had no intention of giving. As usual he began to wait and wonder if Thanatos would truly arrive, if he would just be left waiting in silence for a stranger who would never show but this was not Ogygia, he was no longer bound to wander and wait and hope, yet still the beating in his chest thunderous even to his own ears betrayed the fear that would always remain.
@▪ aphrodite The mortal realm held memories for her. The golden goddess was born here. She was raised here. The mortal realm was her playground. She would spend her days frolicking through the gardens with the flower nymphs, bathing in the light that Helios provided, and dancing amongst the trees. She watched the mortals go about their daily lives and inspired them with the beauty she grew on Earth. There was a time her mother kept strict regulations on the girl, but as time slowly moved on, Persephone was more than capable of taking care of herself -- though she may have seemed incompetent at first. With the help of some very generous friends she found her voice, learned how to speak up for herself, and garnered a sense of independence. Living on Olympus was a treat. She loved the city; dreamed of it her entire life. But every now and then she would slip back into the mortal realm to help the flowers blossom, to tend to Spring.
For her, the mortal realm held something Olympus didn't. While Olympus was pristine and pure and clean, the mortal realm was like her blank canvas. Her mother was a controlled mindset -- everything was calculated and perfect. And while that was all well and good for her, Persephone's methods were... chaotic. A beautiful chaotic. There was no rhyme or reason behind her take on Spring. It was her way of spreading her love with the world.
She raced through the forest, flower nymphs close on her heels. The wind whipped through her hair; golden tresses like silk. The satin fabric wrapped around her body hugged her figure as though it were a second skin with the speed she was flying at. Barefoot and hair down, this is where she could be free. Freedom fueled her adrenaline and when the Flower Nymphs heard word that she was back... the chase was on. She left her god-like demeanor behind and the child within her reeled with happiness. She was happy.
Her laughter filtered through the air like a harp, unseen and yet melodious. Her feet never touched the ground as she raced past the threshold of the forest and into a field clearing. Here it was -- the Gardens of Olympus. This is where her mother raised her. This was her hearth. While her mind was distracted, she barely saw the Nymph flying out of her left field of vision and the girls collided with one another. A tumble and a roll and soon the Nymphs were upon her welcoming her with giggles and hugs and kisses. Her glittering skin was decorated with dirt and grass, but she could care less... she was home.
