@▪ morpheus "Of course, Morpheus. But make sure that you're here with either Thanatos or me, okay?" Hades offers, smiling at the latter before he turns back to the books, letting out a small sigh. "I heard you work as a librarian in Mount Olympus. I'm sure you're very interested in these books too, but I do have to warn you, not even Psyche is allowed in here. It's not a place for a lot of people." He continues, waiting for the other God to come back to him. He couldn't help but watch the other hurrying over to him, his form mimicking that of a small child, carefree and innocent. Hades couldn't help but smile, opening the door for Morpheus and follows the younger God from behind, closing the door after they make their way out of it.

At the other's request, he couldn't help but tilts his head, halting in his steps. "If it's not too much to ask, why are you fixated on the dungeons, Morpheus? I don't think that there's anything good under there, especially nothing good that you can benefit from."

@▪ hades Morpheus let out displeased whine when the male said that he wouldn’t have the tour to the prison , after all he had been anticipating that moment the most now. Morpheus wanted Hades to know that he wasn’t weak despite his ability to only able control dreams but he also somehow understood that it was a dangerous place to visit. He didn’t say anything about it before he entered the big room that was filled shelves of books. “Wow..” He said in awe as he scanned the room since he really love books , courtesy of being a librarian at Mount Olympus. “That’s so amazing! There’s so much books here.. I would love to read some of them once in awhile if it’s okay with you. I really want to know the stories of the souls!” He said cheerfully despite the solemn feeling in the room due to the lingering souls.

He nodded at Hades’s words before turning from the shelves and followed the male to the door. “Alright Hades. I’m really intrigued by how spectacular everything was.. So many things that I’ve never seen before.” He said with his usual light , bright smile and followed the male out of the room. “But Hades, you’re really not going to bring me see the prison?” He asked a little whiningly since he wanted to see the prison that kept all the dead souls , his interest was peaking up since it was just right downstairs.

@▪ hades If Hades's voice heard a second later, the old soul would turn into ashes already but his eyes back to normal as his voice echoed inside the prison, reminded him he shouldn't get too emotional with someone who's not worth of his time. He managed to threw him accrossed when Hades pulled him out the cell and reminded him of the rules they have created for the prison but the other male wasn't in his pleasant emotion as well as he turned to the soul and commanded guards to take him into isolation place. Thanatos pushed him lightly as he got up from the cold concrete. "Fine. But I'll make sure to deal with him later on and don't ever stop me doing that." He hissed, a bit annoyed when Hades stopped him, worried if going to isolation place would taught him some lesson. "Let's go." He led the way to the upstairs to their gerage where they parked their cars and drove themselve to the mortal realm to caught on those escape souls. "It's 12 in the noon in mortal realm." Offered Hades one of his sunglass as he hate to see sun shone brightly and it hurts his eyes.

@▪ morpheus 'I'm not going to give you a tour of the prison," Hades said with a finality in his tone as he turned his head to look at Morpheus, offering the boy a small smile. "It's not for the faint of heart." He added before reaching out to the first door that they have encountered. Hades led Morpheus into the room with shelves filled to the brim with books. It was not against the security if any god was to travel to this room as it was only a remembrance of each soul's life. Zeus would always visit, but all these souls had already departed, either for a reborn or eternal death. His fingers touched the spine of each book before turning to Morpheus. "On each spine, we labeled it with their inmate ID. These are all no names, just stories to be kept and share with the Gods. A tale, if you might say. Sad and happy ones, or unfortunate ones. Don't stay here for too long. As each book, each soul longed for some relief. Their memories will keep a grip on your mind, begging you."

He offered the other a smile, walking back to Morpheus' side before he directed the other to the door. "Let's move on to the next room, shall we?" He suggested, not wanting the light-hearted and innocent God to stick around these souls any longer. What had happened, it happened, and nothing could change the part of it.

@▪ thanatos Hades had wanted to say something — anything really, but Thanatos was too long gone. With a sigh, he followed Death back to the dungeon, his coat swishing across the halls, the belt attached to it clanged heavily against the metal rods of a prison cell. "Thanatos— no!" He howled heavily into the air. Everything must be done under the protocol. They had rules and regulations, and even mortals were tied to. And thus, as Gods, they were even more responsible for it. They could not make a mistake, not after what had happened in the past. Hades knew where Thanatos was heading, knew who he was accusing, but this would not go well. He forced himself into the cell, pulling Thanatos off the old soul and with a warning, his hand gripped on Death's shoulder. "First warning. We're not allowed to lay our hands on inmates."

But everyone knew that even Hades himself was in a rage, a controlled, simmering rage that would soon boil, leaving everything into ashes. He turned to the soul, tone deep and low. "The second strike— you outdid yourself once more. Guards, bring him to the isolation cell and inform Melinoe of the escapees. Thanatos, let's prepare to depart into the mortal realm, let's not waste any more time."

@▪ hades Morpheus laughed and shook his head at Hades words. “Nah sometimes it feels kind of really childish. I don’t even want to remember what kind of dreams I made for children.” He smiled as he continued to taste the sweet macaroon along with the tea that suited his tastebuds the most. “I think everyone can see that both you and Nat are the hardworking ones here. Or else everything here would be in a mess , am I right?” He asked while finishing the macaroon before smiling contentedly at the wonderful treats. “Thank you for the delicious treats! It’s really good.” He praised before rolling his eyes a little at Hades’s words.

“You’re reminding of an old man , Hades.” He replied with a soft laughter and raised his one of his eyebrows at the male who seemed to be trying to stifle his chuckle. “Hey , no laughing at me!” He huffed childishly before crossing his arms but his ears perked up at the mention of having a tour all around the building before nodding his head. He immediately forget about being a whiny person and held his hand out to hold onto Hades’s extended hand. “Oh that sounds perfect! I would really really love to see the scary prison you have!” He said while standing up from his seat as well , eyes gleaming in curiosity.

He followed Hades out of the office and he was in awe at how big the place was , eyes looking around in amazement at how spectacular the place looked. “You really have a big place , Hades. How many staffs do you even have in this place?” He asked while still following the male around , already wanting to visit downstairs almost immediately. He never really see the dead spirits before so he might be scared- or rather just surprised but as always, he would let his curiosity get to him again.

@▪ hades They have worked together for all their life span since they're god of underworld and god of death but now, Thanatos didn't bother to listened or checked what Hades was doing since the small sign on the wall is his only question and might be the solution of the mystery on why those prisoners able to ran away so easily. A tugged on his hand snapped himself out from his mind as suddenly Hades dragged him out from the prison, running along the hallway but when they passed the old soul's cell, the corner of his eyes caught a glimpse of the old soul smilling, smirking, something along the line but it felt creepy and somewhat, looked like a victorious smile. Before he knew it, they're running upstairs and back to his office and Hades checked the departure's list. "Snap it out Hades." He groaned as he took the list from his hand and slammed it on the table. "Alert Malinoe now, that's the most important thing and as for the culprit, I know who did it. Trust me." He fixed his eyes on him, convinced him to followed his lead. "I spent half of my life building that damn maze prison and I won't let anyone screwed it out." Pointing to the prison direction with determinded eyes before walked out from his office.

Hades would call and alerted Malinoe for now, that's what's important. As for the culprit, his eyes turned red as he sprint back to the prison and arrived in front of the old soul cell, grabbing him by his collar, eyes fixed on him as he's a thousand percent sure it was him. "It was you isn't it? Don't defend yourself, because their cell have the same sign of black magic you created hunderd years ago." He hissed, warning the old soul. Hundred years ago, on a night of a full moon, some prisoners acted strangely and some dead without a chance of reincarnation. Without have to investigate, the old soul boasted to him and guards about his black magic and such. Since then, the old soul banned from doing anything inside the cell. "I should have ripped out your mouth back then." Tightened his grip on him as his eyes glowed red, unabled to controlled his emotions anymore.

@▪ morpheus "Those are good things you're doing for the mortal. You give them hope and happiness, but you also make sure that they stay grounded. It's a good role, and I know you're doing very well, Morpheus," Hades explains, offering the other one more macaroon. He lets out a small hum, listening to the other's compliments and praises, his chest swelling with pride and joy. "Please, I don't do much. The one who is working his hardest here is Thanatos. I do skip from working a few times each month. It's just that you're seeing the best side of me as the God of the Underworld."

"You're reminding me of a child, Morpheus," Hades quips in softly, crossing his arm over his chest, pressing a hand to his lips to conceal the chuckles that are threatening to leave. He gets off the desk, straightening his back and offers his hand for Morpheus to take. "Here, let me be your tour guide for today, yes? Now, where should we start first? Which place do you want to see first, Morpheus?"

He raises his brows playfully, a massive smile on his face when Morpheus finally takes his hand. He guides the other to the door, starting with the level that they are on. "Here, we have Thanatos and my offices. There are two tours, north and south. The department dealing with deaths are here, and the court of justice would be in the south wing of the building. The prison cells are right downstairs, which is located in the dungeon."
▪ hades 5 years ago
@▪ thanatos Hades crossed his arms over his chest, eyes flickering left and right. There was no escape point. No one dug out anything, and there were no lingering or traces of spells, whether it'd be white or black magic. He pulls his lips into a firm, thin line. "Someone knows about the blueprint of this place, that I am sure of," Hades starts, pushing his coattail away as he walks off the prison cell. "But I don't think we can rule out that black magic may have something to do with all of this too."

He turns to the guard, quietly asking about the departure of the souls. "But these prisoners, they don't know anything about black magic. It must have been someone else, some other souls that took pity on them — or trying to test us gods. Someone might be playing a trick on us, Thanatos. We would need to alert Melinoe about this while we figure out who may have done this on purpose."

"Come with me, let's head to the office and recheck some reports and profiles. I do have a few souls in mind," Hades continues, already tugging onto Thanatos' hand and running up the staircase back to his office. "Do you remember who departs today, Thanatos? Any names in your mind?" Hades asks, quickly pulling out the chart for that day soul departure. He snapped his finger, flipping the chart open and eyes scanning through the list.
▪ thanatos 5 years ago
@▪ hades Both Hades and Thanatos were like the owner of underworld. Hades managed the corps, business like thing in underworld while Thanatos taking care of the operational stuff like prison and such, so he knew what the other God was thinking, the mortal. Those souls were not stupid enough to stay in the underworld if they had a chance to escape. By now, they probably on their way to mortal realm and if they're lucky enough, they're able to possessed some mortal who have lost their will to live or in the verge of dying. Catching them is a thing but face to face with another God is something else. Typical Hades who talked non-stop when he's talking and never spare a time to listened as he spoke to the guards through the intercom to locked any escape route and tightened their guards on prisoners inside. "I have done that Hades except checking for crack but yeah, Let's go and check what's in store for us." He led the way to the elevator and down to the underworld prison.

Screamed and curses from tortured souls greeted them once they are inside the prison along with higher temperature. Blue flame lit up as they walked along the hallway, checking every crook and cranny, made sure everything is okay and no way to escaped from the prisoners's maze created by the god of death himself. "I was escorting a new souls when a guard came to me and reported of an empty cell which is here." they stopped at the scene, an empty cell with an opened metal door with no trace left from suspects. "I didn't sense anything at all. You know what I mean." As a god of death, Thanatos had a good sense and could feel if anyone inside the prison trying to escape but with this, he sensed nothing at all. He walked inside the cell and looked around but only darkness left. Summoning a flame on his hand, he searched for any clue, even a small one only to stopped as he found a sign on the wall.

"Do you believe in black magic Hades?" He questioned him sincerely as his eyes never left the sign on the wall. Black Magic sounds ridiculous but he has met tons of death souls and some ended up here because of that as their bad deeds but the question is, is it possible for soul to used it when they're death already?

@▪ hades Morpheus scanned the pile of papers before he frowned a little. “Oh my- that’s a lot of papers. I hope that you’ll be able to finish them up soon! You need to get some good , well deserved rest for working this hard.” He said while tilting his head , mentally thinking that he wouldn’t be able to even go through quarter of those papers and seeing how Hades was managing all these so well made him feel really amazed with the male’s skills and efforts. “Ah, I never knew you had to manage such issues as well! You’re working super hard , Hades.” He said in awe and he just nodded his head at Hades’s words. “I wish I could help you , Hades. But the only thing I’m good in was to create various kind of dreams , be it nightmare or fantasy.” He said with a small chuckle.

Morpheus’s eyes gleamed happily at the sight of a cup of good tea and some sweet macaroons. He always have a sweet tooth and he absolutely adored how colourful those macaroons was. “Thank you for the treats, Hades.” He said adoringly as he took a sip from the tea cup and took a small bite on one of the macaroons presented to him. “It’s really good. It’s been quite awhile ever since I last took something this sweet! Really makes me feel much better after a series of sleeping nonstop.” He laughed softly while just enjoying the little treats that Hades’s secretary got for him.

“You’re one of my best friends , Hades. It’s natural for me to be worried about my workaholic friend.” He said and gently nodded his head at the male’s words. “That sounds good! I would love to have a walk around your tall building since it seemed like there’s a lot of new , mysterious things.” He said with his voice laced with interest as he wanted to have a look at how the core of the Underworld looked. Perhaps he can maybe go and have a peek at the prison since his curiosity and excitement was bubbling inside of him.

@▪ morpheus Hades could only offer the other a sigh before shaking his head. "I'll need to have these—" He says, making a pause in his sentence, lightly slamming one hand over the tallest stack among the rest of the stacks. "— done by today. Or else, the souls can't depart." He explains, letting his eyes wander back to the report spread open in front of him. Writing and signing the paper off, he puts them onto the little stack on the opposite direction before grabbing another report from the taller stack. "There are also some issues that I need to address. Some leakage and issues between inmates."

"They bring their mortal's values here. We can't avoid them being the worst even when they are in their soul state." He continues, reaching for his cup of tea, only to notice that it has gone cold. "Right, right. Where are my manners?" Hades quips in softly, getting up from his chair and calls for his secretary to come in to bring two fresh cups of tea. He pushes the small plate of macaroons to Morpheus' side. "Please, take some. These are very nice when you combine them with tea."

With a chuckle, he shakes his head. "Thanatos may beg to differ, but I do believe that I'm a workaholic. Thank you, Morpheus for worrying about me but, I'll be just fine," Hades reassures, sending the smaller god a warm smile. He settles down on the edge of his desk, hands in his lap, eyes on Morpheus. "Say, since you're here, would you like to tour around the area? It's not the prettiest, but it could be interesting for you."

@▪ hades Morpheus laughed at his friend’s reaction as he remained sitting on the comfortable chair while still laughing at how surprised Hades was which made him think that his surprise had been successful now. “Oh dear- your reaction is simply too priceless! If only I can take a picture of it , it would be too good now.” He said while still giggling , wiping his tears of laughter away before shaking his head. “Ah well , I am actually making this as a surprise for you! I would’ve inform you earlier but again , you’ll probably be too busy to even notice.” He said with his eyes staring at the cup of tea that seemed to be untouched.

He didn’t even realise he was sweating ever since he came in the office , probably too engrossed in laughing at his friend. He let out a sigh of relief when he felt the cold air from the A/C , being blasted and he could feel his sweat drying away , making him feel much comfortable in current seat. He was amused that Hades knew Morpheus couldn’t stand the heat since he would began to grumble about the temperature before this. “Thank you for the A/C, Hades. I feel much better now.” He said while peering over to look at the load of papers on his friend’s table and hummed softly.

“Get some rest , Hades. Drink your tea or get some sweet desserts to lighten you up! You can’t be sitting on that chair the whole day , you’ll get sores!” He said in a nagging tone since he always need to remind his friend to take care of his own health more. “Did you even get proper sleep hm?” He asked while having both of his elbows on the table , his head was propped in his open hands. his eyes were still scanning at the papers and he just let out a displeased sigh at the stacks at the side that looked endless now.
▪ hades 5 years ago
@▪ thanatos Hades eyed the reports in front of him, not once pulling his gaze away from the pictures plastered on the top right corner of each document. He had wished that everything would be easier but, knowing Thanatos, and the other will make this a huge deal. They would probably ride before dawn, causing problems for Melinoe in the mortal realms. For that, Hades worried. He leaned back against his chair, crossing his arms. "First, let's take the precaution measure. What's the update when it comes to the prisons? Are there any cracks? How about the condition of the maze? Are they still intact?" He asked, looking up to Thanatos before he leaned to one side, picking up the phone on his desk.

"Attention to all guards on parole, this is code RED. I repeat, code RED. Assign yourself into groups and start checking every crook and cranny for any loopholes. Seal them away and report back to Thanatos and me, thank you," Hades said out loud into the receiver before putting it back to its holder. "We should move properly, Thanos," Hades said, already getting up his chair.

He grabbed the coat on the backrest of the chair, putting it on. "Shall we head over to the cell? To investigate further?" Hades offered, a hand stretched out, directing Thanatos straight to the door and the god followed behind Death.

@▪ hades "How...." Trailing his words, eyes fixed on the other male. "Can I calm down when I freaking know someone or something overstepping me who have been in that prison longer than anyone else?" Thanatos growled, unabled to contain his anger with the fact that someone has somewhat figure out the maze of the prison he has made in order to trapped those souls forever until either they repent or vanished like a thin air. With a snap, few files flew through the room and landed flicked opened for Hades. "Jung Beomjin, Ji Sangki and Jang Yunhyeong. Those mortals convicted them for , kill and mutilation of a 5 years old little girl. Instead of becoming life prisoners, they comitted suicide and end up here." He recited exactly what's inside the file smoothly since he has remembered every single bad deeds prisoners did in their past life.

"Now, it's not important about who they are. What's important is how and who help them to find a way to escape the prison." Calmed down a little bit, Thanatos sat himself on the opposite side of Hades, crossing his legs while thinking who the hell was helping them. A name crossed his mind. Yang Kiyoung, the name of the old soul who never repented or vanished away from the prison. He fitted the criteris perfectly. The soul has been here the longest and has met a lot of other souls, not to mentioned some vicious souls respected him a lot. "Do you remember about the old soul I always told you about?" Getting serious, he leaned forward with a frown. Hades didn't come down to prison that often and Thanatos always reported or sharing some stories to him about what's going on down there. "It might be him.... But if so..." Looking up to met with his eyes. "How did he do that?"

@▪ morpheus On today's to-do list, Hades has written Fly Me to the Moon, chamomile tea and macaroons. His workload multiples over the time he has been roaming in the mortal realm. Nevertheless, he enjoys finding little things he could bring back to his world. His staff isn't complaining when he brings back sweet assortments. Thus, that will do. He plans to listen to Frank Sinatra on the record player with tea and macaroons on the side. He'll work through all the reports and documents with peace and serenity.

As he enters his office, there is a cup of tea and a plate of macaroons placed on his desk. Hades makes his way to the record player, pulling out the Frank Sinatra's vinyl record, playing it. He retreats to his chair, settling his bottom down on the cushy surface. Work will be painstakingly long, but he is ready as well as that he needs to get everything done before Thanatos comes back from his business trip.

Burying his head into the paperwork and his monitor, he starts to type, reading through the reports and making additional remarks on it. Then, he moves to the keyboard, squinting at the screen. Hades rummages through the drawer, finding his reading glasses and places it on the bridge of his nose. He is knee-deep with his work that his tea has gone cold and that he doesn't notice one quite mouse walking into his office.

"Blimey, Morpheus!" Hades exclaims, a hand on his chest when he finally notices the other's presence. The glasses are now hanging low on his nose, his eyes slightly widening. "You could have knocked, you know? I could have welcomed you— ah, right, right. Let me blast the A/C. I didn't expect that you'd be coming so quick and at this moment too."

@▪ hades Today was Morpheus day off from his usual librarian work and he would usually sleep the whole day through , travelling into dreams and possibly bothering some of his friends who were asleep but he felt like he should pay a visit to one of his close friends , Hades. The said male seemed to be really busy recently and he thought it would be a good surprise to his fellow friend as he got ready for the visit. Once he had gotten ready , he just walked down from his residing area and went to the specific place where a portal to the underworld would open and he just went through the portal with bubbling excitement.

This would be the first time Morpheus had entered the Underworld realm and he was in awe once he reached the place , looking around and it was totally different with the realm he was currently residing in. He hummed as he walked straight to a tall building and he just took the stairs up to where Hades office should be, his steps were light and easy as well. He couldn’t wait to see his friend’s reaction since it might be a really surprised look but at the same time , knowing how stoic and calm his friend was so he thought maybe he wouldn’t get the reaction he expected now.

He greeted Hades’s secretary happily but not too loud since he didn’t want to make his friend aware of his presence before he slowly made his way into the office where he would open and close the door slowly behind him. “Hello , my dear friend. Do you miss me?” He said in his usual light, soft voice but he was clearly really happy to see his friend after a long time. He walked closer to the desk before taking a seat and crossed his legs, looking around. “I must say , your workplace seemed to be kind of...hot? I was really cold when I arrived through the portal.”

@▪ thanatos The realms worked differently, so as he walked out through the backdoor of the studio, removing the red burgundy coat he had been wearing, tugging them off his arms. The soles of his shoes clacked heavily against the tarred road, puddles of water creating ripples as he stepped into them with no care. The gates to the underworld opened with ease as Hades walked past through the cars parked along the alleyway. He entered, and as quickly as it came, the gates closed behind the master of the underworld.

Running the steps of the stairs, he rushed to his office, loosening his tie and taking it off. Even in the mortal realm, he knew something was transpiring in his place. He had rushed off the runway and came back. At one point, Thanatos would walk into his office, fuming as usual. Speaking of the devil, Hades thought to himself as he watched Thanatos slamming his door closed. He had finally taken a seat at his desk, elbows perched, fingers laced together. Hades didn't flinch at the slam of Thanatos' fist. He knew Thanatos would make a big deal out of this due to his impatience, per usual.

"Maybe you can start by explaining? Some names and their ID would be a nice starting point. Panicking over this would cause a ruckus amongst the inmates. We wouldn't want that, right? Calm down, Thanatos," Hades said, eyes gravely staring at the other. He snapped his fingers, and a few files were pulled from the shelves, and he flicked them open. "The prisoners resided in cell 3657 — right, the serial killers."

@▪ hades No one could ever predicted what will happen in the underworld. Not even Thanatos, God of death himself. It was like any other day when he stepped inside prison of souls for daily checked in for new souls who were going to the prison due to their bad deeds in their past life. Painful screams, river of blood and never ending torture echoed inside the dark hallway as he led the new souls to their place. "New souls huh?" An old cracking voice questioned his presence inside, where he already knew why Thanatos is here. 'Old Soul' , that's what Gods called souls that have been inside for hundreds, even thousand years. As time passed by some souls reincarnated and left only 1 soul who took his time here. "It's better for you to take care of yourself rather than someone else." Thanatos adviced him as the guards put new souls inside a place. The old soul laughed breathlessly instead and was going to say something when guards came to him with unreadable facial expression.

Fear, unsettled and scared, three things he could sensed from the athmosphere they brought along. "Cell 3657... Is open." Thanatos body tensed up as one of them finally spoke to him. Without words, he rushed to the cell, only to found it empty with no trace at all. "!" He cursed out before ran upstairs to underworld corp where all underworld Gods work. Didn't want to lose any seconds, he ran up to 12th floor by stairs and opened the wooden door despite Hades's secretary warning. Breathlessly, he walked inside and closed the door, make sure no one able to heard their conversation. "Those serial killers..." 3 souls that locked in that cell were serial killer. They and killed children, pregnant woman and even elders. They comitted suicide and that's how they ended up in the underworld prison.

"!" Frustrated with himself, he hit Hades's table, leaving a small crack on it. "How the hell they escaped when guards were there 24/7 and there's no lights to guide them? More over, you know there never have been a record of escaped prisoner from that damn prison!" Raising his voice, pointing out to Prison's location, questioning everything that is impossible but happening right now. "We have to move fast Hades.. I don't know since when they're gone but if they're fast enough..." Thanatos couldn't continue his words because he knew something bad will definitely happen in mortal world in case they couldn't catch them on time.
