heart of gale academe: roh jisun

once upon a time,  like planets
condemned by gravity to collide,
jisun's parents fell in love with each
other and has become yoked as one.
after marriage came pregnancy, which
was not the case for the couple. despite
many attempts, mrs noh was still not
pregnant with any child.

in the pursuit to get a child, or,
specifically a son,  they prayed,
experimented with superstitions,
but nothing beats the myth of a
shooting star.  the two wished upon
a shooting star, hoping to be granted a
son capable to inherit their
corporation to continue the family
line.  finally,  3 months later, mrs noh
was pregnant with a child.

perhaps, it was predestined that  
noh jisun was born on a starry night
of 23 november 1998, that she was the 
child of the cosmos. she was the
catalyst of the wish they made upon 
the shooting stars.

rather than being grateful of being
granted a child, jisun's parents were
beyond disappointed. the birth of roh
jisun shattered their hopes, to them:

either fate was cruel, or. irony's the
best friend of the noh family.

growing up, it was evident how the
couple viewed jisun with disdain. no
matter how much jisun vyed for their
attention and love, noh jisun was 
nothing but a puppet. her future was 
decided, she was going to inherit the
company, on the condition that she 
gets engaged with the son from
another corporation. her parents
believed there was no avoiding of the
clutches of fate, like how fate once
played a prank on them. inevitably,
they thought jisun would have to 
accept her own fate.

with the canvas of the galaxy behind
her back, roh jisun definitiely was the
biggest irony of the noh couple, as
she was born to defy, whether it was
their wishes,  their greed, or anything.

unlike them, noh jisun had control of
her fate.  she was her destiny. she
wasn't going to comply to their wishes
like the stars did twenty one years ago.

greediness probably runs in the blood,
seeing how jisun was once greedy for
their love. growing up, she. knew, she
had to take over her own life. she 
plotted a scheme, to feign obedience,
give in to her 'beloved' parents. before
reciprocating the love and filial piety.

take over the company so she had the
power to expose their misdeeds
and scandals.

if there was one thing that her parents
were ever right about, is that fate was
cruel to them. and so was jisun. 

they deserved it,  anyways.
