@kim bobae∘ "Someday..." The word lingered on his lips, but didn't travel much further. The bunny knew he'd realistically never be returning home, but he'd yet to admit it aloud-- to admit it to himself. He'd remain here, with all the other homeless hybrids. The bunny frowned a little to himself but at the sudden change in weather his eyes lifted. Bright eyes caught the falling snowflakes, holding each one in his gaze until it fluttered away like the most elegant of butterflies. Mingi squeezed Bobae's arm, "It... It's really snowing." Almost instantly the bunny stood away from his blanket cocoon to wrap himself in the falling snow in happy glee. He wasn't home but at least he has the snow as a familiar companion.
@choi mingi∘ ʰᵒˡˡᵃⁿᵈ ˡᵒᵖ ᵇᵘⁿⁿʸ Noticing the stiffness in the bunny’s posture, the human loosened his embrace to just ghosting his touch, not wanting to make the other uncomfortable but also wanted him to warm up to his affection, “I know you miss your owner. But maybe they’ll come back for you someday, for now, you belong here. where youre safe and warm.” He smiled and gently scratched beneath his chin again, glancing at the sky as he saw little snowflakes landing on him, “look. it’s snowing.”
@kim bobae∘ The touch that went from gentle pets and pats to a full on hug made the bunny stiffen, only for a moment-- It was simple and innocent but it was the first he'd received from a stranger in a long time, closer and more intimate than the gentle caresses from a moment ago. Slowly, one by one, his muscles relaxed and he was able to settle into the warm comfort that Bobae's arm and hand afforded him. The bunny carefully unraveled his protective blanket coating to welcome the human into it, figuring it was the least he could do to make up for him staying outside with him. He looked down, smiling, sadness folded into the expression, "I-- I'm not always glad I'm here... but it's for the best-- or it's supposed to be anyway... Thank you. For keeping me company. Hopefully it'll snow soon... and if not that's okay, too."
@choi mingi∘ ʰᵒˡˡᵃⁿᵈ ˡᵒᵖ ᵇᵘⁿⁿʸ Bobae took the seat beside the other and wrapped an arm around the bunny’s shoulders, hugging him close to his side to keep him warm, “he’s very nice, isn’t he? I’m glad you came here. you seem so sweet.” he cooed, petting the bunny’s head gently, “I’m sure. I’d rather sit here with you than to be inside and leave you out here alone.” he shook his head, rubbing mingi’s back
@kim bobae∘ Those were new. He'd never heard anything other than obedient as a positive adjective towards himself. The explanation materialized a soft smile on his face, though he wasn't sure how deserving of 'cute' and 'kind' he was. "Taehyung is nice..." was all the bunny managed to murmur in return. The approval of his name was sweet to the bunny. It was the last thing he had to remind him of his parents other than a picture and a small stuffie, ironically in the form of a soft wolf. Mingi didn't question it, his body shifting to welcome the human next to him. He could never say no, but he did feel guilty, "Are you-- Are you sure...? It's cold... And everyone is inside. You don't have to stay..."
@choi mingi∘ ʰᵒˡˡᵃⁿᵈ ˡᵒᵖ ᵇᵘⁿⁿʸ “mhm, he mentioned how skittish and kind you are. and cute.” bobae smiled as he watched the hybrid, noting that the bunny liked the touch, “mingi. i like that name.” he whispered softly before standing up and dusting himself off, “is it okay if i set beside you?” he questioned calmly, taking the hot cup and carefully placing it in the bunny’s hands in attempt to warm him up, “we can sit and admire the lights until it snows.”
@kim bobae∘ The frown on Bobae's face sent a little shock of panic across the bunny. Was he in trouble? What if he was in trouble? He just-- didn't want to be a bother was all. The hybrid eyed the hot cocoa, eyes soon shifting to the man that settled in front of him. He nodded, "Bobae--" His eyes widened, uncertainty and hesitancy over his features, "He-- He mentioned me...?" The bunny hoped they'd been all good things. Hopefully. Unwittingly, his eyes closed and for a moment he forgot he was anxious, the affection under his chin making him nearly purr. The question went over his head then rely when he was able to focus away from the touch, "Mingi... My name is Mingi..."
@choi mingi∘ ʰᵒˡˡᵃⁿᵈ ˡᵒᵖ ᵇᵘⁿⁿʸ “I offered it to you, and you’re cold.” bobae frowned but placed it on the bench beside the bunny, sitting on the grass in front of him, “well, my name is Bobae. I take care of the garden for Taehyung. you must be the new little bunny that he mentioned.” he smiled a little as he gently scratched underneath the hybrid’s chin, “what’s your name?”
@kim bobae∘ Mingi looked at the hot cocoa that was offered to him, unconvinced by both the drink and the explanation for the snow. He hoped the human was right-- it would give him some normalcy in his new surroundings. The bunny bit his lip gently, "I wouldn't want to take your drink? It's yours. You should have it." Until then the bunny barely even noticed he didn't know this stranger's name and he his.
@choi mingi∘ ʰᵒˡˡᵃⁿᵈ ˡᵒᵖ ᵇᵘⁿⁿʸ Bobae was curious as to why the little bunny was alone, did he not have friends? maybe he’s just new and anti-social. “I’m sure it’ll snow soon. it’s still a bit early.” he smiled a little after checking the time on his phone, looking at the bunny again, “would you like some hot chocolate? you can have the rest of mine.” he offered, picking up his cup of hot cocoa.
@kim bobae∘ Mingi's eyes had wandered to the sky, wondering where the snow was. It always snowed on Christmas Eve-- just another thing that was off about this year. The voice made his ears twitch, his body suddenly sinking into the large blanket around him. Mingi's eyes met the human's in the midst of his blanket fort, unsure of how to respond, "I-- It's supposed to snow on Christmas Eve. It's always supposed to snow on Christmas Eve."
@choi mingi∘ ʰᵒˡˡᵃⁿᵈ ˡᵒᵖ ᵇᵘⁿⁿʸ Bobae was busy decorating the bushes with Christmas lights before walking to his car to grab more decor and come back to the garden to do the same for the trees. Hearing footsteps, he glanced over and smiled, “hello there.” He spoke calmly, stepping off the stool and over to the bunny, kneeling down, “what’re you doing out here in the dark alone? don’t you want to be inside where it’s warm?”
The bun y tucked himself away into a corner of the garden along one of the benches. He'd emerged into the area in whatbwas quickly becoming his outfit of comfort: sweatpants and his owner's sweater. Tucked around him was a warm blanket. His eyes settled on the nature around him. He'd never spent Christmas alone, one of the few joyous memories of the last few years. This would be his first and as such, the bunny couldn't quite cope.
Holding a warm cup of milk, Nate steps out into the garden and takes a seat on the cold damp ground, crossing his legs. The cold breeze plays upon his cheeks, turning the tip of his nose a soft red hue. He takes a sip of his drink and let's out a content hum as he looks out, watching the sun as it begins to rise.
