@⌖ ᴍᴀʀᴀ ʟᴀғᴏɴᴛᴀɴ It felt like no time had passed before Sam was nursing his martini, though the essence of time had slowed upon the introduction of her lithe, cold digits. It was enough to stun him - both the lack of warmth and the initiation of touch - which he should've prepared for, being it was Mara. In response he could only muster a grumble as the peregrine's eyes shifted away from his partners in reluctant submission. "I have a case of cab, which will last you a week...." Samuel's posture was stable and expression never wavering besides subtly submitting to her domineering micro-actions, which ironically ruffled his metaphorical feathers a bit, but not more than what he could successfully conceal. "I just need another hand harvesting, and I can have a new brew to you in two weeks. I feel bad asking Ariana because I know she'll say yes, and everyone who applies to work at my farm are no-good heathens." To mirror her, Sam sat back and began to relax slightly, though remaining guarded with the crossing of his arms as he dares utter another sardonic prod. "I could offer to pay you for your losses with the world's oldest profession, but that wouldn't line your pockets /or/ bring customers in. However my offer, is that if you have any buss boys or servers looking for extra cash, send them to the farm and I'll get that shipment out to you in no time."

@⌖ sᴀᴍ ᴋɪsᴢᴋᴀ Mara had easily picked up on the slightest of nervousness in Sam’s conduct, something that was rather unusual coming from a man displaying nonchalance with such ease, though some signs could hardly lie; quickening heart rate, the pace of his walk and perhaps an eagerness to indulge in an alcoholic beverage as soon as they had made it inside — those were a few signs the vampire took into consideration, already bracing herself when it came to the imminent bad news about to hit her. ‘Just say what you have to say already, Samuel’ she mused, settling down next to him and readjusting her skimpy dress, taking the time to gesture the bartender for a second martini before adverting all her attention back onto her business partner. As she had easily managed to guess, his following words were nothing to rejoice about, throwing the young man a dangerous look at the joke thrown her way. Her body was now arched over to close the distance between the both of them, delicate palm caressing against the expense of his cheek and down the facial hair adorning his features, making sure he was to catch the yellow glint in her eyes, the spark of anger having been ignited by his last comment. ‘Don’t be a smartass with me, pretty boy — I don’t like problems, I want to hear solutions.’ Mara leaned back to rest against the leather seat, thanking the bartender under her breath once their drinks were brought to the table.

@⌖ ᴍᴀʀᴀ ʟᴀғᴏɴᴛᴀɴ Sure, it was a business meeting - but Sam never attempted to dress to impress, in fact he was normally spotted traipsing around with bare feet. He adored the feeling of earth beneath his toes, the connection that stems from being grounded with nature. Unfortunately this was a professional establishment, so shoes must be worn. Sam's frame however, was adorned with his usual open button-up and a pair of questionably short, jean shorts. Mara wasn't someone he needed to impress, anyways - she'd been a loyal customer for about a year. Hopefully that wouldn't change, come the bad news he was about to relay during their 'business' discussions. Silence supersedes their walk over to a corner booth at the bar, the shiny leather seat squeaking beneath them as Sam shifts into work mode, but not before ordering a martini - extra dry, no olives. "So, how do I put this lightly? My last batch got a little yeasty...." Coming to lean over the table, Sam folds his hands over until his fingers are threaded, fully initiating the engagement to their conversation. "So I won't have a shipment for you for another month.....can I offer you some fruit instead? Some healthy snacks for your drunken patrons?" The end quality of his remark was sardonic, as Sam just couldn't help himself even if Mara decided to bite back - pun intended.
