Kingdom of the Piaro
To the South of Sciora lies a vast mountain
range and a variety of grasslands, deserts, and
oasises. This kingdom has been named after its
ruling family, the Piaro.
It's the warmer part of Sciora, with many of its
inhabitants enjoying the warmer climate,
especially those within the Piaro family.
Piaro was blessed by an ancient deity known
only as 'The Firebird'. Through its blessing, the
land was protected from the worst of the wild
magics, and the royal family began to notice
changes. It isn't uncommon for children of the
royal family to be born with some birdlike
features. From feathered parts of their bodies,
to beaklike mouths, to winglike protusions.
It was clear that The Firebird had claimed them
as his own.
Now the Piaro live mostly in peace with the
families that choose to follow them, but it's no
secret that they wish to control the north too.
The most bizarre part of Piaro to those looking
in would be the most common choice of mount.
As the area is very mountainous, a horse would
not fare well, and so instead the people of
Piaro ride giant birds known as 'Roc'. Upon
turning 16, every resident of Piaro is entitled to
attempt hatching a Roc egg and bonding with it.
They have wing spans varying from 18ft, all the
way up to the largest known Roc with a 38ft
wingspan.
