— her father was her hero. he was the man who raised her to be such a strong and ambitious woman, a role model to all in town, and it was such a tragedy when his body ended up washing away in the water while saving you from drowning. from that day on, her life was never the same again and it was all your fault. of course, she doesn't blame you, but there's part of her that can't help itself from holding onto the resentment that if he didn't try to save you, he would still be alive today and her family would still be whole and she would have been able to go on with her life unbothered by any tragedies. but what's done is done and wishing things went differently could never change the way things happened. from these events, chaewon has grown into an adult with scars and fears she can't explain, but if she can put things to rest and forgive the person who was there at the moment that changed her life, maybe she can begin to heal.
