@Son Seungwan ᴰᵃᵘᵍʰᵗᵉʳ ᵒᶠ ᴴᵃᵈᵉˢ "I'm sorry the child of who?" Jeongin blinked, clearly still lost even as he turned to hurry after the woman. She seemed plenty nice but he had no idea what she was talking about. She might well have been speaking an entirely different language for all that Jeongin was understanding. These strange Gods were mentioned a lot though, and he was trying to keep a mental list of all the ones he'd heard of so far.
He was going to have to start writing down the names though, he was never going to remember them all. "I've never heard of an Iris before, isn't that something in your eye?" He asked, hoping that things would start to make sense eventually but so far he was just hopelessly lost. "What's an omega house? Is that bad?"
@Yang Jeongin ˢᵒⁿ ᵒᶠ ᴵʳⁱˢ Seungwan chuckled in embarrassment as she realised her mistake. "I meant the underworld. Although, the underworld is under the ground so underground works too!" She pauses, rubbing her chin. "Hmm, now that i think about it, it wouldn't surprise me if madison — hades — can control earth as well. I'm her child, yet i do not know much of her." She shrugs lightly and quirks a brow when the newbie refutes her choice of word. "You say you're adopted. So, something had to have happened with your birthparents, right? It's the same for the rest of us. Madison left the day after i was born." It is the coldhearted truth, whether or not the newbie wanted to accept it. Although like him, seungwan has a loving father who more than made up the disappearance. Watching expectantly, she marvels at the show of flowers, rain, and rainbow. The break of rainbow is beautiful; with it, seungwan is certain of the other's lineage. "You're a child of iris, the goddess of rainbows. The omega house it is then!" She leads the way, charging ahead excitedly.
@Son Seungwan ᴰᵃᵘᵍʰᵗᵉʳ ᵒᶠ ᴴᵃᵈᵉˢ "Ruler of the sky, the sea, and the ...underground? So like... dirt?" Jeongin asked to clarify and make sure he understood. In the small village he grew up in they worshipped their own gods, but they were more like spirits than gods. So Jeongin had no idea what this woman was talking about. He felt way in over his head, but he stumbled along after her when he was dragged outside, still looking bewildered and confused. "No one abandoned me, I have parents. I was adopted sure, but my parents loved me I was never abandoned." He didn't see the adoption as abandonment, he'd been given to wonderful people who had loved and doted on him all his life. He was lucky, blessed even and he knew that. "I mean, I could show you my powers..." Setting his bag down he watched as flowers sprouted up around him, blooming into a myriad of different colors, they always brought a smile to his face seeing them. "I can also..." Looking up at the sky he held up his hand making a little swirling motion with his finger and the once clear sky began to darken until a light rain began to fall, with another motion of his hand the sun broke through the clouds and a beautiful rainbow arched over the camp.
@Yang Jeongin ˢᵒⁿ ᵒᶠ ᴵʳⁱˢ Seungwan stared at him, dumbfounded. The greek gods were internationally renowned. Especially the big three. No matter where one grew up, they were bound to hear about the gods in some form or another. Sure, majority thought that they are fables — stories of the old — yet surely this demigod in front of her must at least have heard of the god of the sky? "They're the ruler of the sky, the sea, and the underground, respectively." She answered, trying to discern where the young, hyper demigod lived previously. He looked like a teenager; how old was he? Seungwan face-palmed when he mistook her words. "Not that kind of godparents! You're here; you're a demigod–" she clapped her hands as an idea came to her. "Let's see your superpowers! One of my favourite games: guessing the god who abandoned you." She dragged the kid outside to show off his powers, in case he had any nature manipulation.
@Son Seungwan ᴰᵃᵘᵍʰᵗᵉʳ ᵒᶠ ᴴᵃᵈᵉˢ "I'm s-sorry, God what?" Jeongin stumbled over his words as he struggled to keep up with what the young woman was saying. "Who are Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades?" Those names didn't ring any bells with him, he didn't know what any of that was supposed to mean. "I was told my house was here? But I don't know where my room is." Truth be told he wasn't even sure he was in the right building to begin with. The directions had been vague and he had been too excited to listen properly. His excitement was starting to taper down a little bit, but only slightly. He was still almost bouncing with energy. This woman was kind, and so far everyone else he had met was kind too and that gave him hope that he would make lots of friends and have a good time here. "I don't have any God parents, my parents never appointed any. It's just them."
@Yang Jeongin ˢᵒⁿ ᵒᶠ ᴵʳⁱˢ Seungwan readied herself to head out. It was the afternoon on a weekend; she wanted to explore the camp further. She turned to look at the empty spot opposite her bed. Hyunjin wasn't in. It was normal for them to leave the room without informing each other — they were just roommates. Perhaps their relationship was lesser in her stepbrother's mind, but to seungwan, she hoped that they could be closer as they held familiar ties. She wondered if hyunjin would accept her invitation to check out the campsite together. Seungwan was near the front door when she bumped into another person. "Oof," she stepped back and rubbed her head. Seungwan raised her head to inspect the scene, spotting a unfamiliar male with a lost look etched into his features. He was carrying a bagpack. Oh, a new face. Seeing the head counselor was absent, she stepped up. "Welcome to camp verlympus and to the alpha house! Children of zeus stay in that room, poseidon in the other room, and hades the last room over there. Who's your god-parent?"
@Son Seungwan ᴰᵃᵘᵍʰᵗᵉʳ ᵒᶠ ᴴᵃᵈᵉˢ Camp was confusing. Or maybe Jeongin was just easily confused. Maybe it was a bit of both. There were so many people and not much explanation on where to go or what to do. He was carrying his rucksack over his shoulder, all of his worldly possessions tucked inside. It wasn't much more than a few changes of clothes and some trinkets from his parents before he'd set off to this camp Verlympus. He had been told by a counselor to go... somewhere. A house. He didn't remember much more beyond that. He was too easily distracted by how many people were around and what they were all doing. So much magic too. He'd never even met someone else with magic before. Now he was surrounded by them and it was all so fascinating. So fascinating in fact that he failed to pay attention to anything he had been told. The counselor had pointed him in a direction so Jeongin started walking. He knew he was looking for a house, so when he spotted one he made his way inside. Looking around curiously he had no idea where his room was supposed to be. He figured he would wait until he found a housemate and ask them if they might know where he's supposed to go from here.
@Hwang Hyunjin ˢᵒⁿ ᵒᶠ ᴴᵃᵈᵉˢ Seungwan paused her singing, perking up at her stepbrother's voice. She sat up on her bed as well. Hyunjin just took the conversation a step further. Was he feeling /guilty/? Interesting. So he had a conscience. Seungwan felt rejuvenated, more convinced of her efforts to get closer to him. She turned to hyunjin and opened , when suddenly the bell rang. /Teng, teng, teng./ She looked at the clock; it was dinner time. "Food! Hyunjin, care to sit together?" She turned back to him, though she wouldn't push if he objected.
@Son Seungwan ᴰᵃᵘᵍʰᵗᵉʳ ᵒᶠ ᴴᵃᵈᵉˢ Hyunjin wondered if he was being too blunt with how he was saying things. Was he too much? The son of Hades lays back on his bed, looking at the ceiling. He needed to make friends. Boss’ name was hanging on the line. Hyunjin couldn’t bring the only person that took care of him down. Sighing, he sat back up. “Yes. And they can take any shape or form.”
@Hwang Hyunjin ˢᵒⁿ ᵒᶠ ᴴᵃᵈᵉˢ Even though she did not show it, his last statement hurt her. Was she that irritating that her halfbrother did not want to be near her? She knew she can be annoying at times, but does hyunjin detest her as he does madison? Twice now he had had to deflate his increasing anger. She walked back to her bed, muttering to herself. "No...answers...time...patience." Hyunjin responded to her questions; he didn't ignore her outright. That was a win in her book. "Ah, so they can be used for offensive purposes too! As expected. Good to know!" She plopped down on her bed, singing under her breath, "I want to hold you // All the things that are tired from the darkness // I want to recognize them."
@Son Seungwan ᴰᵃᵘᵍʰᵗᵉʳ ᵒᶠ ᴴᵃᵈᵉˢ This half sibling of his was going to definitely make him lose his mind. She had no perception of personal space, and it was starting to tick him off. Hyunjin felt the anger, felt disrespecting with his personal space being infiltrated and disrupted. Breathing out through his nose, taking deep breaths then letting it all out. Boss taught him to keep cool and he was doing just that. “Keep it that way.. and leave my shadows alone…” He muttered a warning, watching as his shadows moved to form a protective barrier, rolling his eyes, he solidified the shadows, making them unwavering for now. “They can attack. Assist me with whatever I need.” Hyunjin sits back on his bed. “I need to get out of here… You really are making me want my own room.”
@Hwang Hyunjin ˢᵒⁿ ᵒᶠ ᴴᵃᵈᵉˢ Hyunjin's warning made Seungwan pause midstep, before she couldn't resist but to take another step closer to the barrier. His self-meditation did not go unnoticed by Seungwan, yet she ignored it for favour of the swirling shadows behind the line. She held a studious pose and tapped her chin, mimicking an inspection of what seemed like a novelty to her. In fact, it was. "Believe it or not, it's my first time seeing a blood barrier. Coupled with the shadows which seem to have a mind of their own... I mean, look! If i go right," Seungwan walks to the far right of the barrier, the shadows following her all the while. "And if i head left," she darts left, the same thing happening. "Isn't this just incredible!" She marveled at the incorporeal dark floating forms. "Besides guarding, what can they do? Can they attack? How? By holding weapons — oh are they even able to hold weapons in the first place — or do they have their own dark matter weapons that they can hold — or by shooting orbs or– And the blood barrier! Hoooooow does it work??? Will the barrier dissolve if i erased a spot of blood–" Seungwan broke out into a wry smile. "This shadow and dark matter manipulation stuff is supposed to be second nature to Ma– /her/ children, but it's all just fascinating to me."
@Son Seungwan ᴰᵃᵘᵍʰᵗᵉʳ ᵒᶠ ᴴᵃᵈᵉˢ This could not possibly be his half-sister. No child of that monstrous woman could be cheerful or sweet, loving even. This one must have had a good mortal parent, tending to her every needs, how lucky she must have been. Yet, Hyunjin was not going to be the type to guess. Maybe he was overthinking her life, should he even care? Hyunjin bites his lower lip and he looks at Seungwan. What was her game plan? Hearing what she said, it somehow made his blood boil. His shadows hissing in response and even Hyunjin felt as if the ground beneath him was shaking. Or was that his imagination spiraling out of control? "I do not have any of that and I do not plan on forming any.... Weak connections. Family will only betray you. I only have myself and a few close people." Hyunjin felt threatened, his body tensing as she approached his side. "Stop there..." Hyun slowly relaxed as Boss had taught him. "Why... Why do you want to inspect it?"
@Hwang Hyunjin ˢᵒⁿ ᵒᶠ ᴴᵃᵈᵉˢ Seungwan startled when her halfbrother trembled from anger. He was visibly upset at the mention of their real mother's name — just how was his life before Camp Verlympus? What had Hades done that made him so abhored by Hyunjin? Seungwan was no stranger to the abandonment; every demigod in camp underwent this. Seungwan herself included. She was not about to downplay the fact that Hades just walked out of her children's lives right after birth was despicable. Unmotherly, in fact. Hyunjin's reaction to their birthmother's name reminded her of her younger self, when she, once too, despised her life, her birthmother, herself. Seungwan had a patient, loving father to bring her through it. Her pillar of strength. And she will try her damndest to be the same to Hyunjin. Baby steps, she reminded herself. "A family is not strictly formed by blood. A family sticks with you through thick and thin and ultimately has your back. People whom you want to return to after a long day of training. You may not see me as your family member now. That's alright. Let's start as roommates then." Seungwan slid off her bed, stopping before the barrier's vapous form. "I won't force you to take it down nor do i have the power to remove the barrier; however, i will request that you keep your shadows in your side of the room. In return, despite how much i would like to inspect this amazing feat, i will not disturb it. Unless, of course," she winked, "you provide your permission to do so."
@Son Seungwan She was way too perky to be a child of Hades. Rolling his eyes at her chirpiness, Hyunjin observes her. Wondering what her life was like. Seemingly her personality was a complete contrast to his. How did she live her life? Probably with a loving family. Aside from the paternal thing. “I.. Why are you saying that name so nonchalantly.. That thing… That man…” his body started to tremble, he was angry. Angry that she was so different and apparently held no resentment towards Hades. “Just so you know. We are half mortal.” Hyunjin’s eye twitches, he was seething at the idea of lowering his barrier. “I.. I have no family.” He huffs and keeps the barrier up. “It will be up.”
@Hwang Hyunjin ˢᵒⁿ ᵒᶠ ᴴᵃᵈᵉˢ Lost in her thoughts, Seungwan did not notice her roommate awaking until his voice broke through. "Oh! You're welcome!" She giggled and unfolded her legs, not catching the other's sarcasm. "Hello, Hyunjin! My name's Son Seungwan. My real father's Hades, as I'm sure is yours. Although I guess my surname would not be Son... hmm i wonder what our real surnames are... then again, this passing down of family name is such a mortal thing to do–" she rambled before she caught herself. "Anyway! Introductions done, now let's get down to business. Do you really have to draw a line between our spaces? I won't cross to your side, promise. We're family after all. Or half of it." She eyed the separation disdainfully but made no attempt to breach his side.
@Son Seungwan Hyunjin was a light sleeper, something he was accustomed to, growing up in the Underworld. Meant surviving even when sleep wasn’t an option. Always having to be on your own feet, Hyunjin never slept properly, yet he honestly believed he could sleep here. Guess he was wrong. The loud noises along with that voice, woke Hyun up. Opening his eyes, he sighs to himself. Slowly sitting up, ruffling his hair before blankly staring at the female that dared wake him up. His shadows whispering in his ears, bringing his hand up and rubbing his nape in a sleepy manner. “Thanks for that.” He states bluntly, climbing out of bed, he observes his first roommate. Her eyes. Hyunjin’s eye twitches. She looked like /him/. “Must be my stepsister. Hello. My name is Hyunjin.”
@Hwang Hyunjin ˢᵒⁿ ᵒᶠ ᴴᵃᵈᵉˢ Seungwan stopped outside the room's door, exhaling little puffs of air. She clenched her hands into fists, brought them up to her face, and gave two tight pumps. "Let's go! You've got this, Wannie!" She muttered harshly as a big grin spread across her face. Although she didn't know who Hyunjin was — could be a child of Zeus for all she knew — she knew that they'd be friends quickly. She hoped. Twisting the doorknob, Seungwan pushed open the door widely, her sights instantly falling to the mass of lump on one of the beds. "HELL— oh." What had stopped her was not the lump, but the metallic scent of blood that assaulted her nose. Her roommate's part of the room was also significantly darker. Her stepsibling, then. She rolled her luggage over to an unclaimed bed, surveying the other side while avoiding the blood line all the while. The lump got clearer. It was a male. Hyunjin was clearly a wary person, overly defensive, perhaps. But she didn't know anything about her stepbrother's life. Seungwan sat on the bed as she fixed her orbs onto the dark side of the room, deep in contemplation.
“Guess this is home.. Or room.” Mumbling to himself, Hyunjin could only roll his eyes as he started dividing the room. Not really knowing who this Seungwan person was, Hyunjin needed his space. Thankfully the house in itself was pretty large in his eyes. Hyunjin uses a bit of his blood to make a distinct line: dividing the room and of course assigning his shadows to be that second backup. Once he felt somewhat better of the arrangement, Hyunjin starts settling into his bed. Nuzzling it like a cat would, claiming it as his and he looks to his “essentials.” Just a bag of his clothes and thats about it. Hyunjin uses his shadows to work for him, along with cleaning any unnecessary mess along the way. Breathing out when he was satisfied, he climbs back into bed after he arranged his furniture, nuzzling the bed and trying to take a small nap.
