The Full Moon
Effects on Humans
There are few scientifically documented effects on humans however it has been noted that on the full moon, humans tend to lower their inhibitions.
Whilst not a direct effect on humans, the full moon causes a certain mysterious rock pool to start bubbling. If a human were to jump into this bubbling water, they would find themselves becoming a mermaid of sorts. Whilst on land they would have their regular legs, but upon submerging at least one leg their leg would become a tail, and the human would have the same abilities as a mermaid (only one tail specific power)
Effects on Mermaids
The effects of the full moon on mermaids is much more noticeable. If a mermaid were to look at the full moon it would entrance them and cause them to act out of character as though they aren’t in control of themselves. They’ll be more aggressive, especially towards human and will find it hard to resist the chance to kill a lone swimmer. If this trance goes on too long, the mermaids can lose themselves forever, becoming what’s known as a sea witch.
