Lesvos, a land blessed with beautiful women with unique charms, skills, and talents. Women lived here peacefully away from the society who deemed them as outcasts. Thanks to the five goddesses who vowed to provide these women a haven to remain virtuous and love whomever they please. The goddesses are not to rival each other and only grant favours that would benefit the entire population.
Little by litte the population grows. Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty found herself in great need for devotion and took it upon herself to give favours to any woman who will give themselves completely to her. She gifted them with great powers and weapons enabling them to be above others. Thus, evil entered into the world, bringing untold misery.
Sedna could stand the cries no longer, and the lives of the oppress is a sacrifice she would not allow. the goddess of the sea raised instructed the wind to gather rain clouds. She let loose the waves of the sea, bidding to rise, overflow and overhelm the land. Soon after the goddess has spoke, rain fell in torrents, the lakes, rivers and the ocean broke their bond. In a day, the flood destroyed crops and killed many of Aphrodite's followers. Aphrodite's temple laid waste and her sea-voyagers disappeared. Furious, Aphrodite decendent with flowing locks and gown, presence calming and shone on the fighters. And then she struck, calling upon women who'd fight for her. Many enlisted especially when the goddess gifted them wings to fly and the power to influence the natural world through enchantments.
Sedna expected the worse and plead for her friend Hecate, the goddess of the night to join her. Together, they seek their own champions. Sedna gave her followers the power to control any body of water and gave them the ability to breath under it. Hecate equipped hers with the weapon to cast spells, control the light and summon the dead. She also raised an immortal army with wolf-like fangs and extraordinary strength.
Seeing that she's on the losing end, Aphrodite asked the mighty Athena, goddess of wisdom and Artemis to rally alongside her to save Lesvos from the unstoppable army of Hecate and the powerful creatures of Sedna who killing by the thousands. She offered them equal share of the land once they've won and promised not to raise a hand against those who chose to serve Sedna and Hecate. As reasons rule Athena, she convinced Artemis to support the goddess of beauty. The two of them conjured creatures that will level up to the strength of Sedna and Hecate’s army.
Artemis created women able to transform into an enormous beast of the night, ready to kill Hecate's blood thristy army. While Athena gifted her soldiers with the ability to create weapons in hunting Sedna's sea-creatures. Hecate summoned monsters of the underworld to even out their loses but Sedna sees the errors of her ways. She plead for her ally to stop and come to an agreement as Athena suggested. However, Hecate seeing that they could win refused. Sedna had no choice but sound her trumphet and called upon the monsters of the seven seas and held Hecate for her warcrime. This betrayal wounded Hecate and in the end she surrendered herself, saving those who remained faithful in her. The goddesses Aphrodite, Athena, Artemis and Sedna imprisoned Hecate in Tartarus.as a response to Hecate's crimes, her immortal army was cursed by Athena. They can only walk under the mercy of night and can be killed by the sun or separating their head from its body. They do not decay but they are pallid, cold and eyes that turns red. She named them "Vrykolas" or vampires in common tongue. Hecate's ladies of the night commonly known as witches, were pardoned but they are cast out to the snowy mountains with the Vrykolas. They are to live off the land under the watchful eyes of Artemis. There, they secretly worship the imprisoned goddess of the night, longing for the day she'll be able to redeem them.
The four goddesses cast their lot and divided the land amongst themselves. Aphrodite with her winged creatures took the forest and the valleys ruling over the creatures of the elements. Sedna continued to rule the seas. Artemis' followers were given a token to freely roam the land and hunt as they are creatures of the moon. Athena took the mainlands and called it Sapphos. As centuries passed, each territory became a formidable area of power with Sapphos as its center of trade and learning.
