@woo wonjae. yeonjun couldn't believe his parents had the audacity to choose a 'suitable' partner for him to marry. didn't they understand that tradition had gone out of style hundreds of years ago? a prince should have his own say in who he would spend the rest of his life with! yet, even after numerous arguments, his parents hadn't budged. maybe he'd just have to try another tactic.
the loud sigh that escaped yeonjun's lips had his mother frowning and his father shooting him an annoyed glance. they were currently in the middle of a meeting with the neighboring kingdom's rulers, which meant that he'd soon be face-to-face with the woman his parents intended for him to marry. their reasoning was something about 'strengthening the alliance and deterring enemies from invading either kingdom'. in yeonjun's opinion, they could simply increase the number of guards surrounding the border to keep them safe.
"oh, she's beautiful!" his mother suddenly exclaimed.
yeonjun shifted his gaze toward the large double doors that had just opened to reveal the princess...his future wife. sure, the woman standing there was ethereal and quite stunning, and maybe in different circumstances, yeonjun could have fallen in love with her, but the fact that the two of them were being forced into this relationship squashed any chance of romance happening.
the introductions were awkward, but yeonjun remained polite. after all, princess seoyoon wasn't to blame for their situation.
still, he wished he was anywhere else but here at this moment in time...preferably /with/ someone else.
