@choi yeonjun. there was no response from his side initially at the playful teasing from yeonjun, nothing except a soft puff of breath and a pointed look. although, he was technically correct in his promises. as long as yeonjun cared for him he knew that there was nothing anybody could do to him. he was literally safe to do whatever he pleased but he still did his best to maintain and proper distance when they weren't in private and to remain professional. he made it so, so hard though.
he paused for a moment at yeonjuns next words - gaze darting to the window then back to the prince standing in front of him - his cheeks darkening at the realisation as he shook his head, "my apologies it seems it's been a uh.. long morning already, hm?" he chuckled softly as his fingers effortlessly moved to begin helping yeonjun dress, making sure to allow them to linger across the princes skin the way he knew they both liked it, "they are important though, for your future. i'm sure there are some exciting aspects of them, no? especially the events. and do you not enjoy music?"
He gently smoothed his palms across yeonjuns chest, acting like he was straightening his clothing when in reality he was just trying to linger for as long as he could, "ill accompany you all day. if you'd like? and can promise you'll behave."
@kim taehyung. typically, the knights weren't assigned to tasks such as dressing and bathing the royals, yet yeonjun always insisted that his handsome crush assisted in preparing him for the day. /of course/, it had nothing to do with the fact that taehyung would lay hands on his bare skin. of course not. at least, yeonjun kept telling himself that.
after tugging his robe off and slipping the thin nightshirt over his head, the prince spun around and faced taehyung with a cheeky grin. "you worry too much, darling. as if i would ever allow harm to come to you." he murmured, taking a few steps in the knight's direction. "you're the crown prince's personal knight. /everyone/ knows that. not to mention, they're all aware i'd personally burn down the entire kingdom if you were hurt." and he would. yeonjun would stop at nothing to make sure those responsible paid for what they'd done.
taehyung's next words had yeonjun's eyes nearly bugging out of his head before he burst into laughter. "taehyungie, i'm not sure if you worked the night shift, but it's morning now! i haven't even had a chance to start my day yet. that's why i'm asking you to help me dress. i'll wait for my bath until later...i don't want to be late for my music lesson." yeonjun said with a tired sigh, rubbing a hand slowly over his face. "i'm becoming sick of all of these duties and lessons and events! they're so boring; i wouldn't wish them upon my worst enemy."
@choi yeonjun. he took his job very seriously, or as seriously as he could with a crown prince like yeonjun running around. he showed up to duty on time, he did his job thoroughly and well. keeping his crown prince safe was something that was heavily important to him. in more ways than he would ever express or verbalise to anyone - including yeonjun himself.
seeing the way the prince practically skipped over to where he was, and the way he called his name like that almost, /almost/, pulled a smile from him, but he just managed to maintain his composure. his gaze flicked around the hallway quickly to see if anyone had heard the way he'd been called before nodding his head once and following yeonjun into his room without a word, closing the door silently behind him before he let out a soft breath.
"you know if they keep hearing you calling me like that you're gonna get me in trouble, right?" He questioned the other male, folding his arms across his chest as he raised his brows; not that he really had any issue with it. if anything he found it utterly adorable. "did you have a good day today?"
@kim taehyung. some days, yeonjun hated being the crown prince.
a lot of his tasks repeated, day after day: meet this person, practice this instrument, read this book, etc. it grew tiresome, and the prince craved some sort of variation in his schedule.
his father's daily duties weren't much better, so yeonjun didn't even really look forward to the day when he'd take over the throne and become king. what was the point?
sighing, the raven-haired male tossed the heavy duvet off of his body and stood up, arms stretching above his head to pop the sleep from his joints. after tying a robe around his waist, he padded over to the large double doors and pushed them open, before stepping out into the hallway.
a cheeky grin stretched across his face just as it always does when he spots his favorite knight standing guard outside of his room. "taehyungie, good morning!" he cooed, the informality common in yeonjun's greetings to the other male, something he knew would be considered 'inappropriate' from a royal to a lower class person. over the years, yeonjun had grown close to his guard, and, therefore, chose to address taehyung in a variety of ways.
"come, help me dress," he beckoned, motioning with his hands for taehyung to follow him back into his room. this, of course, was a command, which is why yeonjun slipped inside, not even bothering to wait for an answer. one benefit of being royalty, the prince supposed: everyone had to do what you said, no questions asked.
