how does time work in the rp?
the way it works ooc, generally speaking. we don't have a specific timeline and threads may be "dated" however you like; muns are responsible for keeping track of their character's personal timeline.
can i get some sensory reference for the afterlife?
the afterlife's cityscape is based on medium-sized cities, with a somewhat mild climate (meaning it's never too hot nor too cold). common weather phenomena such as rain and thunderstorms (with the occasional snow in the winter, which would normally melt in a couple of days at most) will still occur from time to time.
can i get a reference on the city's current state (economy, borders, etc.)?
there's no other known civilization to compare the afterlife to. the city takes up the entire land mass in this world (think pangaea) so no one can say for sure if they are economically thriving, technologically advanced (although the city's tech is similar to what we have right now in the modern world)—anything you need another form of civilization to compare to. we're super loose on this so do whatever makes sense to you.
do we need jobs/can we get jobs?
yes. you don't really need to elaborate in your application and you may decide on what to do after joining (or even use it as a plot/connection idea), but unfortunately the afterlife still runs on capitalism. we allow any occupation you can find in normal city aus and you may reuse your character's canon job if that's what you want, but we highly encourage branching out and giving them the opportunity to try something new!
can i get a live action faceclaim for my 2D character (or vice versa)?
we don't disallow it per se, but we recommend against it especially if you're coming up with a new face. also because it'll create unnecessary confusion for people as well as yourself, but this is ultimately up to you.
(death tw) can i get a character who is canonically deceased in their original universe?
yes, but only if the character themself is deceased and is not because the actor (if applicable) has passed away. for example, we don't allow polly gray from peaky blinders as she was written off because her actress, helen mccrory, had passed away during the series' production.
(death tw) can we die in the afterlife?
you can't die of natural causes (e.g. old age) but if you are killed, for instance, it is possible for your soul to depart from the afterlife. remember — just because the city is called "the afterlife" that doesn't mean it's the actual afterlife (although it may very well be, but no one can say for sure). we don't allow character deaths in the rp, however.
what languages do we speak in the afterlife?
here, your perception of language is altered so that you communicate in whatever language your muse is the most comfortable in, so there are effectively no language barriers in the afterlife.
