you do not! you can be what is considerd mundane or human on this planet
2. can you be beings like faieries and so on?
unfortunately, you cannot as we already have a set list of species that you can be as we want to keep it as simple as possible.
3. is this rp in a modern setting?
yes! think of it pretty much you're like on earth in 2024 but with a little magic and it's called sitas instead of earth. everything else is pretty much the same
