“You have got to be kidding me. I’m here because of mythology? I don’t even believe in Gods.” Groaning he rubbed his eyes, this was the most ridiculous thing he’d ever heard. He was alive because of ancient gods he didn’t believe in. That sounded like a bad joke. “I never wanted a second chance. What made them decide on me and not my parents or anyone else?”
She blinked, "A god goe involved with me?" Then she pointed to herself. "I couldn't remember... All I remembered was... I was running because I was in a competition..."
Utaha smirked slightly as she heard the man talk more and she shrugged. “Well it turns out that all those gods, Zeus, Poseidon, hades, the lot of them, are all real, and somehow one of them got involved in you. When we died they chose to give us a ‘second chance’ and brought us back here for that extra chance, at least that’s how someone explained it to me…” she sighed before nodding in response to Seulgi. “Beginning of September, 2022, and you?”
“I gathered for myself already that it was Ancient Greece, what I haven’t gathered is why I’m here. I’m supposed to be dead, and I’m very much not dead. At least not anymore.” Hyunjin sighed, looking down at his drink before he raised the cup to his lips and took a sip. “If I die again will I send up back in my old time? Or will I just end up with the dinosaurs?”
“More wine? Dionysus is a bountiful god.” she chuckled standing up and grabbing two more mugs and setting them down on some tables. “However if you’re drinking to intoxication I have a much easier method…” Utaha chuckled slightly flexing her gloved left hand before sighing. “Living through history is nowhere near what I expected when I first got here.”
eyes flickering from the young woman who greeted her with the name of seulgi. a nice ring to it as she sounds it out slowly and nods her head once. "a nice name you got there..." she wanders off upon hearing utaha's words and her brows quirk up in amusement as her head nods slowly with a low chuckle. "got anymore wine to share with us? and with that being said, she is actually right... not so ancient when we're in the here and now."
"M-My name is Seulgi-- Nice to meet you, Hyejin!" Seulgi smiled nervously at her. "It felt weird I get to have a bit stronger than I was before." She chuckled.
Utaha yawns slightly as she walks into the inn, grabbing a mug of wine and glancing over the people in the room before tilting her head slightly.
“Ancient Greece only it’s not so ancient anymore since it’s all happening right here and now.” she smirked slightly, putting her mug on a table in order to adjust her gloves slightly, pulling them up more
"heaven? i fear it's not... iit's ancient greece like i was telling this pretty guy right next to me." humming under her breath, she scopes out the other and her head tilts to the side curiously. "may I ask what's your name? I'm hyejin."
Seulgi looked at Hyejin, "So this is not heaven?" She blinked and walks inside and sat beside Hyejin. "I'm in Ancient Greece? Woah-- that explains a lot."
[] i didn't see it's quite alright, I'm so slow ><
eyeing the new female that walked in, hyejin's brow shot up and she tips her head to the side before laughing softly. "not dreaming darling, welcome. come sit and chat with us." the empusa nudged her chin over to a spare seat and glances back at the male with curious orbs as she nods slowly. "free from what exactly? and why do you say that you did this to yourself?" now this got hyejin's attention as her eyes shot over to hyunjin's face to look at him with a slow tilt of her head as if trying to analyze and understand him. "this is ancient Greece darling, I thought you would've figured it out by now, apologies."
Seulgi walked inside the small inn and looked around, she blinked a few times and looked at the people around. Her eyes widen at the sight of the people, "Oh my... I think I am dreaming." Then she holds her head.
"Don't be sorry, I did it to myself." Hyunjin said rather bluntly, taking a sip from his glass. At least the wine here was stronger than he was used to, it helped a little bit even if he didn't like the feeling of being drunk anymore. One positive to being here, waking up like he did, he was no longer dealing with crippling alcoholism. One less thing to on his plate to worry about. "I have no idea what you're talking about. What I am? I barely know who I am. One minute I think I'm free, the next I wake up here."
"Mhm positive. I would've remembered a pretty face truthfully, just saying." She flashes a small simper almost apologetic for being too blunt as her fingers fiddle with the stem of the wine glass and her eyes slip shut briefly as she takes in what the male is saying and she's nodding her head slowly, thoughtfully. "Ahh, so you're were sent here after maybe... uh something happened to end your life elsewhere?" Empusa whispers thoughtfully before taking another slow sip of the red wine. "I'm sorry that happened to you though, you know nothing about what you are?"
"And you're so sure you've never seen me before?" He asked, cocking his head to the side and regarding the woman carefully. "I'm Hyunjin, at least I think I am. I'm not sure I know anymore. Nothing really makes sense and I'm just trying to... survive." He didn't have a better word for it, or a more eloquent way of phrasing it. He was very lost, and very confused about how he woke up here but he was doing his best to get by day by day. Everything was different here, and he wasn't even sure he was Hyunjin anymore.
"Mm I don't know, are you? I mean — I haven't come across you before so..." Her head tips to the side curiously as her dark eyes zoom into his features and she hums thoughtfully while leaning back with her own glass of crimson red wine as she takes a tentative sip and swallow slowly. I'm hyejin, empusa... what's your name, pretty?
"New?" Hyunjin echoed the question, he almost wanted to laugh. "Am I new? I don't know if that's what I would call it." He said, a chuckle slipping out as he got himself some wine and leaned against the wall, watching the room with a carefully blank expression. He didn't know this women, he didn't know any of the people in the less than crowded room. That wasn't surprising, Hyunjin didn't even know himself anymore.
Hyejin was surprised by the downcasted look provided by the pretty male. He was glowing and quite exotic, even his clothing and the material adorned on his skin flowed in drapes that made her curious even more so. She wondered if he was merely shy or— her eyes are casting over to the newcomers. The young woman from earlier and a new face she hasn't quite seen before but she's calling out to Ganymede softly. "Want to join us?" She's kind no doubt, even if selfish and her eyes flash to the other two. "Hello, I saw you earlier. I'm hyejin, what's your name?" The woman, asked utaha curiously and her orbs flicker to the tall male with a small smile on her lips. "Hello, are you possibly... new?"
The place was quiet, that was why he chose it. Coming here became a comforting part of his routine. He was still trying to understand what was going on and how in the Hells he managed to speak Greek when he had never even heard the language a month ago. Things had taken on a new normal, one that he was struggling to adapt to. This world was so… old. So many things he wasn’t used to and didn’t realize he took for granted in his old life. He was adapting though, because it was the only way to survive.
She walked in, shoulders hunched over as she yawned slightly, having only recently woken up despite the day having moved towards late afternoon. Sighing to herself, she adjusted her gloves and pulled them up as she ordered a glass of wine and then took a seat.
his greek was rusty, if anything, the days he did focus on greek was the only thing keeping him from passing off as a greek in his current state. imagine his "father's" surprise when he woke up one day and suddenly spoke greek like a toddler. it was fortunate he didnt throw him out into the streets. once he got the glass of wine, the man moved to stand off to the side before he felt.... eyes linger on him. turning his head to the side, he stared at the woman who eyed him.... before he very quickly lowered his gaze and looked away. it would be rude of him to stare at a beautiful woman. especially of his own ranking.
her eyes lifted from the young woman briefly to eye the other person that sauntered in, her brows furrowed a bit and her head tips to the side curiously. her brows furrow once more as she takes a sip of the wine, tasting it on her tongue and humming a bit as she slumps back onto her seat, admiring the visage of the person that walked in. hyejin always loved pretty things and objects - persons too and this was nothing otherwise where the person when walking in happened to be like, just as the other woman as well.
makes his way in, adjusting the ivory chiton he wore embroidered in threads of gold and purple at the hems and borders of his linen clothing. he reaches up, grumbling underneath his breath about how his hair seemed to only conduct more heat the longer he stayed out in the bright sun. and as he raises his cape-like chlamys over his head as he steps in, he draws in a soft breath before finally making his way to the innkeeper.
wine please.
her eyes flicker over to the woman before nodding her head slowly and humming under her breath.
hello there, I'm empusa - hyejin. her words are low, soft, almost soothing as she looks over her book- scoping out the young girl and eyeing her intently.
Humming softly to herself Utaha walked into the inn, looking to find somewhere to relax before she noticed someone else there.
Somewhat awkwardly, she nodded a greeting to them before grabbing a glass of ale to sit with
bored as ever, she makes her way over to the lounge area, a drink in her hand from her friend as she settles down with a book in her hand, taking a much-needed gulp and emitting a soft sigh.
