Lots of people die tbvh but that's part of the charm

I've been eyeing it for a while and since you might potentially read it I thought it would be nice to read it too and we can talk about it or whatever

Kissed by angel is pretty much as you've described it. The guy dies but stays with her bc her life is in danger. "Both stunningly attractive" I'd like to say that this novel is dated therefore somewhat archaic in description but it still happens in books released nowadays.
Throne of glass, okay so yes there is a love triangle but I actually prefer the other relationships this character has, her first love is another spy she grew up with. They try to run away together after taking on a extremely dangerous mission but he ends up getting murdered by his target. But the love there was :chefs kiss:
Then her final love interest who can be a jerk upon first meeting turns into this charming, supportive love interest. The triangle is really just on section of it.
It's a lot to take in LOL

Communicating with the dragons is a pretty cool feature though.
I asked my friend about it because he read a third of the book and gave up. Safe to say he didn't have many good things to say about it
But hey. As long as you enjoy it, that's what matters
Not sure if it's quite the epitome of romance though

Try reading The Jasmine Throne. You might enjoy it. I think it's a trilogy or at least there are three books out so far. It's got magic, enemies to lovers and I think it also has spice?? I haven't read it but I've heard good things

It's like how to train your dragons
When your dragon is mated with another dragon so you're over here stuff and technically bonded with no choice.
Also the dragons can talk to their riders and I suspect they are goof balls at times

I now know a bit more about the plot but still not an awful lot to fully have an opinion
According to him though, the follow up very much flopped in every category. Don't know if you've read it yet
Overall I kind of get the gist,,, high stakes, enemies to lovers etc etc
