On-deck Pool

Where the crew refreshes themselves and other secret lies.

@Apo Nattawin It's been a few days since the commotion caused by the captive creature in his ship and since then, he took repositioned the shackles and only left one on his right ankle to give him some mobility and even then, he had one of his men do it and avoided the latter at all costs to the point that he slept in a spare room for guests just so he wouldn't see the other because as much as he wants to deny it, the look on his face, especially the creature's eyes bothers Mile so much that it haunts him, even in his sleep. Mile drowned himself in work and alcohol leading to the days of their return to the mainland just so he could avoid the creature.

Going up to the deck as the sun sets, Mile received news that they are close to the mainland and will arrive in a few hours. A return for his men is always something celebratory but for him, it's something that is bittersweet. He wished he didn't have to do these missions so that he could waste away in his place but being part of a noble family and despite them living in a modern day, their small island still sticks to the ways and life of those who lived before them, hence the titles and ranks in society. He's completely repulsed by having to be one of the nobles and the thought of people's worth only depending on such worthless titles makes him mad and his skin crawl, but he could only do so much. . . for now.

Whisking his thoughts away, he walked in such a calm demeanor back to his room and faced the creature on his bed. "We'll be arriving in five hours or so. It's the island where I live, and I need you to be in your human form. I will release you from your shackles, but you must stay close and if another attempt to escape happens, I won't spare your life anymore." Mile muttered and once again left his quarters, busying himself with things that needs to get done around the ship until they arrived.

Lacking sleep and rest, he didn't even bother attending the welcome party for their ship and skipped everything altogether all while keeping the creature in his arms, literally holding him with one arm wrapped around his waist, getting him settled in his car and buckling his seatbelt. Undoing his tie and taking his shirt off, leaving him in a thinner one underneath, Mile felt like he's able to breathe again. "Do not touch anything. I'll have servants take you to your room once we get to my place." He curtly said and off he goes to his residence.

It never failed to make him feel at ease once he parked right outside. Instructing his butler take the creature to the room he had made down in the basement, Mile went back to his and just dropped back on his bed, staring at the ceiling, feeling as his limbs loosen as he's finally in a place wherein he can relax and be away from prying eyes. And with that, he slithered back into dream land and fell asleep again yet this time somewhat odd dream; the beautiful creature in his basement.

@Mile Phakphum Apo could see that Mile was weighing the truth and once again was blinded by his revenge.

"Please, don't do this. Don't let yourself be blinded like this. Look at me, I don't even have sharp teeth or nails. Please" his eyes welled with pearlescent tears, struggling against the rough grasp. "S-Stop! Don't! Please I'll be good!" He wriggled as much as he could but in the end Mile had bound his wrist and his feed to the bed, he felt humiliated and vulnerable.

Apo turned his head to the side and let his tears slide down his cheeks, turning back and looking coldly at the pirate "the only monster in this room, is the one sitting in that chair, drinking away their sorrows. Did you ever think that the real problem is the people who abandoned you after you went through a horrible and traumatizing event? But yeah, I'm the monster..I'm such a monster for trying to heal your scars even though you've been horrible to me since the moment I was dragged on this ship!" He let a frustrated shout and to his side, ignoring the man as he became drunk.

The merman glanced over now and then, catching Mile looking at him before looking away again. When he looked back again, Mile was out cold. Good, serves him right. Old drunk. He tried to pull his hands from the shackles but they just cut into his skin.

"Selfish human. Getting drunk and leaving me chained up like this" he huffed and rolled on his side, wrapping his arms around himself and eventually drifting off to sleep

@Apo Nattawin Just as everything was explained, Mile couldn't believe what he was hearing. Could he really have mistaken a mermaid for a siren and took the wrong creature and caused unnecessary harm and cruelty to someone that didn't wrong him? It can't be. He's always calculated and he never— "ing hell. . ." Mile muttered under his breath and just when he thought things couldn't get any worse, the second he felt that warm skin against his palm, he pulled back, it's as if he got burned with how hot his skin was despite being a creature of the sea. Still shaking his head, Mile pulled back and got off the bed.

"No. . . no. . . you're not fooling anyone. This is exactly what sirens do. You're trying to fool me but you won't. I am wiser now, even beyond my years. You will not fool me! Your pathetic attempt will not derail my plans, you here me?" Holding the latter's cheeks with one hand, Mile, in all of this haze and his mind in a frenzy did the unthinkable and starts bounding the creature on the bed's post, tying his ankles with shackles and his wrists in front of him to still give him some mobility.

"You will stay here until we get to the mainland. You'll be under my supervision, all hours of the day and do not dare to make a wrong move or it'll cost you your life." Mile threatened yet again and sat back on his swivel chair. He didn't care if it made him look more of a lunatic that he's staking in his room with this creature but it is better to be safe than sorry, and it's not like the people in their small town and the nobles doesn't see him in such light.

And since that's already the case, he's been banking on that to keep people at bay, and now this creature as well. Glancing at him from time to time all while getting drunk again, he couldn't help but notice how gorgeous he is and that momentary slip of the mind, thinking that had he not been his most hated creature, he could've taken proper care of the latter, had Mile frowning and grumbling until he fell asleep on the chair, his thoughts and dreams now filled with the strikingly handsome face of the creature on his bed.

@Mile Phakphum Apo was manhandled and thrown over Mile's shoulder before he could even utter a shout of protest. He pounded his fists against the broad back of the pirate, shouting and begging to be released but it all fell on deaf ears. The merman barely picked up on what Mile had uttered to another man, only making out the word food, so they were back to trying to feed him.

As much as Apo fought against the strong hold of the pirate captain, it was futile as they were now in what looked to be living quarters. He was once again manhandled and thrown on the large bed present in the room, looking at Mile with a look of disbelief. He had never been treated this way, thrown around and treated like some kind of villian.

The merman tried to push Mile off of him but was unable to due to their difference in size. He let out a sound of frustration, closing his eyes for a moment to calm himself down before opening them again.

"Merpeople are blessed by the sea gods, the ocean keeps our hair and skin pale and pure. If we decide to step onto land for any reason, the powers of the sea God fade and we take on a human appearance" he shifted and tried to sit up as much as he could "Sirens use their appearance to lure humans to them and once a siren has them in their grasp, their true appearance shows. Only merpeople have the blessing to change their entire physical appearance, sirens enchant people to believe they are beautiful but in reality they look like monsters in fish skin..Here" he suddenly grabbed Mile's hand and placed it against his cheek "see, my skin is like that of any other humans. Do you understand? I'm not a siren. The sirens have been taken care of by my people, there are only a handful left that live in the darkest parts of the ocean. Merpeople don't go anywhere near it"

@Apo Nattawin Still in his quarters and coming from trying to feed the siren, Mile's still on his swivel chair, downing yet again another bottle of expensive whiskey when he heard a commotion from the upper deck. Thinking it was just another scuffle between the men, he intended to stay out of it but the moment he heard that the siren escaped, he got up and with his expression dark and brooding, he walked up the deck without a word and whoever sees him along the way immediately steps aside because they know that it's never a good sign if he's storming out like this: footsteps heavy and loud, the only sound that can be heard from him.

Seeing the siren, who had managed to find article of clothes to wear, ready to jump and risk it just to escape his grasp, Mile didn't waste any time and just immediately grabbed him by his waist, hoisting him up his shoulder, not caring anymore if everyone's quiet and since the seas are calm today, a pin drop could be heard if one falls with how quiet it is, the atmosphere thick with tension. Only uttering words to his Chief Mate to bring something more suitable for the siren in terms of food, Mile briskly walked past everyone and went back to his quarters with this siren hanging like a sack of potatoes on his shoulder.

Still tipsy and feeling somber for some reason, and also rage for what just happened, Mile threw the offending creature on his bed and still not muttering a single word but more so because he was rendered speechless. Despite being slightly inebriated Mile's eyes widened with a knot on his forehead as his brows furrowed. What is this sorcery? How come the siren changed? Is this even the same creature? All of these questions in his mind yet none of them made it out of his mouth.

He just sat there, on top of his man as he straddled him in silence as the only sounds echoing around them are the sound of the waves crashing against the ship, which he found relaxing back then but it now had somewhat made him feel uncomfortable as he shifts on top of this unfamiliar creature underneath him. With a light shake of his head, Mile snapped out of it yet kept the man trapped between him and the bed, his gaze still tinged with anger and confusion.

"Speak and explain this. Now."

@Mile Phakphum Apo kept his back turned until he was sure Mile was gone. Slowly he turned his body and looked at the mess of the meal tray, checking once more before cleaning up the discarded food and placing it on the tray. The merman's stomach growled but with the state of the food, it was inedible at that point.

He swam away to the other side of the pool, checking a third time before hoisting himself out of the pool and onto the wooden floor. Concentrating his powers on transforming into his human form, which unfortunately left him . He stumbled as he got used to having legs, searching the room until he found extra clothes someone had left behind. It was rather large but it would work for the time being. Now all he had to do was hide and wait until someone came to clean up. It didn't take long before he heard the door open and one of the younger crew members came in, leaving the door opened. Slowly and quietly he crawled out from where he was hiding and snuck out the door, careful not to alarm anyone as he grabbed a cloak and pulled the hood up before making his way to the top of the ship.

"The siren has escaped!!" Apo heard the younger crew member shout, everyone becoming frantic as they searched for him. But neither the crew or Mile knew that while merpeople and sirens look similiar in the water with pale skin and white hair, only merpeople could use their powers to have human legs taking on the appearance of tanned skin, caramel colored eyes and dark almost black hair. He prayed to the sea gods that he wouldn't be discovered before he made it off the ship.

As Apo made his way to the deck of the ship, he felt the eyes of one of the men. He had to get off this ship if he wanted to survive. Making his way to the side of the deck, he looked out to the sea and the surrounding area, this wasn't his home, he couldn't even see the island from here. He had no idea where home was from here but the water seemed safer than the ship, he thought as he placed his hand on the wooden railing, throwing a leg over. Before he could get any further, he felt someone grab him by the waist and pulled him down onto the hard deck floor. He didn't have to look up to see who it was, he already recognized the shiny pointed boots. He prayed to the sea gods that Mile would spare his life, but he didn't know if his prayers would be answered.

@Apo Nattawin Hearing the latter whimper, his words echoing inside the room, a part of Mile wanted to believe the other. Somehow, deep within him, he felt that sincerity but the fear and anger in his heart, in every fiber of his being stopped him from believing the siren, even when tears cascaded down his cheeks, staining his tan skin, Mile's brows remained furrowed. "Don't start tricking me, you monstrous creature. I know you're trying to tug on my emotions to pity and believe you just like I did years ago but I wasn't the same naive boy back then. I now know better than to believe your kind."

Mile spewed his words like venom, full of anger and rage. Still trying to feed the latter, Mile didn't expect the sudden force from the siren as the plate fly midair as the latter freed himself from his grip, pushing him back in the process as he spat the food out and him stumbling back on the floor. Gathering his composure, he watched as the creature still tried to defend himself. 'Don't believe him, Mile. That'll be your biggest mistake and another one at that. He tricked you before and he will do it again in a heartbeat.'

"I don't answer questions from someone like you. Since you refused to eat, you won't be given anything until we reach the mainland in a day or two. From now on, if you'd like to have some food, you must beg for it. You're lucky that I haven't killed you for your insolence, siren, but I promise you, if you act like this again, there won't be a next time for you." Stepping out of the room, Mile asked one of their younger crew to clean up in the room he was just in as he heads back to his, slumping again on the swivel chair, heaving out a deep breath as he once again drowns himself in alcohol, the only thing that helps him get through the night and his nightmares.

@Mile Phakphum Apo felt sick to his stomach as Mile compared his kind to that of those vile sirens but he pushed his anguish aside while showing kindness to the other man.

With his wrist now captured, Apo could only watch as the scar he'd just touched began to heal. Just a small patch of skin, it would take a lot more energy to heal Mile of his injury in it's entirety. The glowing in his hand began to dim as he felt himself shrink below the man's gaze, his voice quiet as he spoke, "We do not harm humans, they do" he kept his voice as even and calm as possible "Heal, not hurt" he whimpered as he tried to get free.

Apo's heart wept for this man, he'd been outcasted and thrown aside because of a scar. He used his other hand to attempt to get his wrist free, careful not to harm the other and make him angrier. Suddenly Mile gripped his chin after spitting harsh knife-like words towards him. His eyes welled up with iridescent tears that slid down his cheeks as he was forcefully fed. He shoved the human with all his strength and broke free spitting the food out only the floor, slamming hard against the wall of the pool and wrapped his arms around himself "I'm sorry. Please, please don't hurt me" he began to sob. "I'm not a siren. Please let me go. Please!" He begged even with the back turned "I don't have claws or sharp teeth! Are you so blind to your anger that you can't tell the difference?!"

@Apo Nattawin Mile doesn't understand himself either. He is still seething with so much anger and rage but seeing the siren turn his body away from him, evidently scared of what he could do to him, he felt a range of emotions in his chest, and because he never knew how to deal with his own emotions and only knew how to express himself through anger, he did just that. "What are you turning away for? Aren't luring men your specialty? One is now in front of you, willing to feed you and you dare turn away from me?" Mile's words were like venom and just as he was about to continue, he felt the wetness and warmth of the siren's skin against his cheek, stunning him to the point that he didn't know what to say.

"You did not deserve this." Those words echoed in his mind a few more times before he snapped out of it. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" Mile's voice was low, his own emotions, swirling in his chest, all of it are just threatening to explode but he held back yet he couldn't hold himself back from doing what he just did. His hand flies forth as he still balanced the tray of food on his lap, right hand now gripping the siren's wrist. "Don't you dare ing touch me, you filthy creature. I didn't deserve this? What a ing joke. You are the reason why I'm like this!" Mile spewed, panting as he tried his best to keep his anger under control but he's so close to losing it.

Gripping as tightly as he could yet be careful to not break any bones, he ensured that he's able to leave a mark as soon as he lets go. "Don't ever ing tell me what I deserve or not. Because of the scar you gave me, I already lost everything. I have nothing. All that I have left is my anger for you and my desire to have my revenge over you and your kind. Don't ever forget your place, siren. You're nothing to me. Nothing." Without another word, Mile grabbed the latter's cheeks with one hand and force fed the siren, still staring daggers at him.

"Chew and eat or today is going to be the last day that you breathe."

@Mile Phakphum Apo had taken the time since his capture to rest, his wounds were nearly healed and then he could figure out a way off of this ship. He heard the sound of footsteps approaching outside of the room before the door opened. The man with the eye patch, Mile, Apo had found out while listening to the chatter of the other crew members.

The merman pressed himself against the pool as far away from the other as possible. Apo watched the man cautiously, noticing the softened look in his eyes before his gaze became razor sharp again. He'd never been looked at in his 25 years of life, as if he'd taken everything from this man. A siren was the cause of this, merpeople were peaceful and never harmed others, especially humans. But Mile was convinced that Apo was the cause of his anguish and there was nothing he could do.

Apo looked at the plate full of food and then up at Mile before turning his body away so that his back was facing Mile. Even if he ate something, his fate would remain the same, to be brought on land and away from the sea. He thought the man would give up eventually, what he didn't expect was for Mile to get into the pool with him. Apo turned away for a moment, thinking through his next decision before turning back and approaching the other man.

Apo's gaze traveled up to Mile's face, focusing on the scar. This man must have endured so much pain to hold onto his hate for so long. He reached out his hand, letting the water drip as he raised it to Mile's face, hesitating only for a moment before grazing his hand against Mile's cheek, ever so carefully brushing his thumb against the scar that showed. "You did not deserve this" he spoke softly, his voice raspy after not speaking for nearly a week. He closed his eyes and tried to focus his power on the scar below his thumb, a soft glow coming from his hand before it was suddenly grabbed by Mile in a punishing grip. Apo only wanted to help but it seems like he's made things worse.

@Apo Nattawin It's been a week since they captured the siren. Mile didn't want to care at first, but he knew that to some degree he does and for some reason, the few times he visited the creature had him weirdly fussing over him, especially when other crew takes care of the latter. Since he didn't like it when something is bugging him, he decided to exclusively take over what the creature needs to survive at least until they make it to the mainland, which not until within a week as the weather had become treacherous these past few days. Just like tonight, dinner has been served and the siren must be fed as well. With a steaming plate of meat and other variety of veggies and fruits, unsure as to what he likes since this is the first time he's bringing him a meal, Mile pushed the door open that leads to the pool he had especially made for this creature.

Entering the space, he noticed how the latter cowered in a corner. Though his wounds have already healed, the scars are still visible and even then, his beauty still stands out and with just one look at his face and that beautiful physique he has, Mile almost forgot why he's here in the first place. Shaking his head, he once again glanced at the creature with contempt in his gaze, his face still stoic as he got closer, sitting on the edge of the pool. "Here you go. You better eat this time. My men had told me that you've been refusing to do so, and I won't leave until I see you finish this full plate or else, I'll see to it that you're eating, munching away and your plate is clean."

Suddenly realizing the whole set up of the room, it's not like the siren can just hold this quite heavy plate. Feeling a bit of a fool, he took a mental note to have a sort of tray that can be placed on the siren's lap or tail so that he can eat too but for now, he did what he could and got in the pool as well, still sitting on the edge of it with feet and legs submerged, the plate on his lap instead. "Come here and don't make me wait. I don't have much patience for insolence. I'll feed you for now but tomorrow, you'll have to eat on your own."

Muttering in a low voice, he gestured for the creature to come close as it's high time that he learns how humans eat since this is how he'll be eating once they get back on land as well, where his intricate plan of revenge is already being built, his mind filled with thoughts of how to torture the creature and give it back the pain tenfold that he endured all because of being blind and left with a nasty scar that shunned him from ever having a normal life.
