@☀︎ park junhee -okay all he had to do now was wait; he would be lying to himself if he were to say wasn’t nervous. Of course he was. He couldn’t remember the last time he had someone at his place… well actually he did and that one was a disaster. So fair enough he was nervous, he was starting to have second thoughts about this entire idea. Was it too much? Was it too much for Junhee’s first time at his apartment? Was it too much for Junhee’s first time at his apartment and their first time celebrating Christmas together— Junhee didn’t even celebrate Christmas-
-that’s when he stopped doom scrolling through his phone; he hadn’t been paying attention to any of the past 20 something clips as his mind was spiraling-
-he quickly stood up and took a couple deep breaths, fixing a few decorations and stepping around the kitchen and living room before going back to his spot on the couch; he wasn’t sure how much time went by but by the time he was seated again, he heard the unlocking little sound from the front door; leaving his phone on the coffee table he leaned back on the couch, legs slightly apart and one arm over the arm rest of the couch; a somehow relaxed position (total opposite to how he was truly feeling; which was kinda bad as he was trying his best to stay in character to surprise his boyfriend instead of running to the front door to pick him up in his arms and kiss his face all over). He just hope it was worth it-
-and there he was, the sight of his beautiful boyfriend coming through the door of his apartment; he always looked so soft and warm, and no, it wasn’t because he was wearing the cutest red sweater; he just radiates warmth everywhere he goes. And so he was thankful for the mask hiding his face because he was smiling like a en idiot underneath it-
-taking a deep breath he stood up, gathering as much confidence as possible, back straight and taking slow steady steps toward his boyfriend; he didn’t say a word, instead, he gently grabbed the straps from the other’s bag, helping him take it off and place it carefully on the counter-
-turning back to Junhee, he took the headpiece off, gently placing it over his boyfriend’s head instead and slowly pulling the mask off; finally giving him the brightest of smiles- Merry Christmas, Junhee.
@☀︎ kim geonhak ˡᵉᵉᵈᵒ all of this still felt surreal - the past few weeks were a whirlwind of emotions and new discoveries, a smattering of new faces and conncetions and amongst them the one soul that currently had him in front of his mirror, trying on the third outfit of the night. it felt silly, being this nervous about the way he looked after the weeks they have spent together and yet here junhee was, frowning at his reflection while lithe fingers removed yet another sweater, throwing it towards his mess of a bed. not for the first time that night, he was greatful that they weren't meeting at his place.
the buzz of his phone indicating a message came as he changed into a soft wool sweater of a deep wine red, one he did not immediately hate. almost absentmindedly, he reached towards his phone, his small frown immediately disappearing and being replaced by a besotted grin as geonhak's name winked at him from the display. a quick text was typed and sent out - "yes!!! alrighty, i will do my best to be on time. hehehe. love you, too!" - before his phone once again was placed aside in favor of him tackling his messy hair. it took him a few minutes before he deemed himself presentable enough to take a step back from the mirror and actually grin at his reflection, at the soft coziness of his outfit. with one last glance, he nodded to himself, grabbed the totebag with the bottle of wine and a lunchbox of little colorful cookies he had prepared earlier and rushed off towards the taxi he had ordered for himself.
— in the end, he arrived a few minutes before seven. with one of the tote straps twisted around his fingers, he allowed himself a moment of calmness before climbing the stairs of the building; it felt strange, just letting himself in as if he owned the place, as if he, too, belonged here. the quiet knowledge of this being the first official visit to his beloved's place also did not leave his mind, only adding to this slightly intoxicating cocktail of new experiences and shared firsts. his fingers were just slightly shaky from the cold of the outside world as he tapped in the code and opened the door, peeking in curiously. "geon? s'me! hi," he called out deeper into the apartment as he stepped in, pausing only to take off his boots. the lack of greeting at the door was confusing, yes, but he figured out his boyfriend was distracted by something. "i brought wine! and cookies, but i don't know if they're good-" he continued, shuffling further inside and towards the entrance of the living room—
— just to stop in his tracks at the sight before him. the twinkling lights and seasonal decorations were cute, pretty, something he would gush about in any given setting. instead though, his eyes were fixated on the darkest feature of the room, wide as they stared at the younger man. he did not notice the way his cheeks immediately flushed a shade of crimson almost as dark as his sweater or the way his lips parted with a sound that could only be described as a squeak, his eyes wide as he stared at the dressed up figure of his boyfriend. "i- you- i. oh gods-"
@☀︎ park junhee His schedules for this year’s end were so much better than the last one yet… Christmas came in the blink of an eye, he had spent his first days of holidays break doing the chores he neglected -because he was way too tired to do anything- groceries, cleaning, laundry; but by the end of it, his place looked decent and his pantry was full again, he couldn’t complain about that, he was in fact proud of the new state of his place.
-
He had done some reflecting on how he wanted to do this while putting up Christmas decorations; a lot of things could happen if he waited after dinner, so he decided to tackle /that/ thing first. He usually wouldn’t get in the Christmas spirit this much but he really wanted to celebrate with Junhee and make it special for the both of them. Tiny white lights and simple garlands were now hanging from the walls, he even pulled out his forgotten Christmas tree, a small one that fitted perfectly in the corner of the living room, next to the tv; it was now decorated to the best of his ability and by the end of the quest, he stood by the entrance to take a good look, smiling. It wasn’t too much but it was festive enough.
-
After his shower he was now standing next to the bed; all of the costume’s pieces perfectly displayed for him to figure out now. He put on his boxers first, black cargo pants and that one black sleeves shirt with the turtleneck that coincidentally, Junhee had pointed out when he was fantasizing about seeing him in the Ghost mask. Little did he know that was exactly was he had prepared to gift him for Christmas.
The vest was easy, gloves too, he even put on his boots, he had never used shoes inside but he was committed - there was a belt with… pouches, he put it on and looked in the mirror, moving them around until they looked okay, one by his side and one in the front. Until this point it didn’t look much different to the clothes stylists made them wear to perform. But then the skull mask and headpiece came on and oooh - the rush and confidence boost it gave him was like no other. He was still standing by the full body mirror in his room, he had to take a step back to take in the full image. The clothes and boots were a great choice; the vest and gloves combo made his arms stand out even more. He made sure to neatly tuck the mask underneath the collar of his shirt and damn, did he look good. A biiiit scary but, he figured that was part of the fun.
He then reached for his phone to text Junhee
“Hey love, still up for Christmas dinner? Well… Christmas eve technically. See you at 7? I have your present waiting in the living room so feel free to come in, alright. Love you ❤️” Typing the code next and attaching the location for him.
He decided against the gun -for now- he didn’t want to give his boyfriend a heart attack. Walking around his place with the heavy boots on felt illegal, but it is was for sure a /sight/ that made him chuckle, him in this full Ghost costume, tactical gear and the Christmas decorations surrounding him while he was sitting by the living room, waiting for his boyfriend’s arrival.
He didn’t event want to look at the time while tapping the code at the front door, it was late enough that it was dark but also late enough to be closer to the next morning. The door clicked open and he pushed it without turning the lights on, which he regretted instantly as he almost tripped with the box he left at the entrance that morning… the day before-? Doesn’t matter. He forgot about it.
Turning the lights on and kicking his shoes off… he stopped to grab them and neatly place the pair on the rack (he didn’t want to trip again on his way out). Back to the box, he had almost forgotten about it - it was bigger than he expected - and heavier. Putting on the slippers he walked into the kitchen, grabbing some scissors to cut the paper tape open. Everything inside was folded perfectly in plastic bags that once he took out, would be impossible to pack in.
Everything was in there, the headpiece, the mask, the vest, gloves, the gun which came in three parts and clearly fake that he had to assemble and an assortment of accessories that he would have to figure out. It was a bit overwhelming to say the least. But it was too late to back out.
The sound of an incoming text made him fish the phone from his back pocket. It was from the group chat with their manager. If he wanted to survive the next (current) day, he better head to bed, figuring out costume would have to wait another day.
And just like he had correctly assumed, it didn’t fit back in the box.
It had been a long week between rushing the last schedules before the end of the year, comeback and the upcoming holidays…but he finally -finally- had some time to himself at his own place. He had taken a long warm shower after a gym session; he was -almost- done for the day. Strolling into the kitchen and yanking the towel off his head tossing it on a chair, he reached for the electric kettle and a bowl of instant ramen, filling it and taking it to the table along with a pair of chopsticks where his laptop was open in a browser with way too many tabs which, all of them were necessary for his -research-.
He sat, leaving the bowl to the side while opening a new tab and typing the name of another website. After a bit of scrolling and clicking and opening another nth amount of tabs, he finally found what he was looking for. He started slurping his hot noodles while reading the reviews and looking at the pictures of satisfied customers; a few more clicks and he had already ordered it, according to the website it should arrive sometime during Monday. He was okay with that. It gave him plenty of time.
-
The bowl of noodles was now empty and he rested against the chair, closing his laptop shut and taking his glasses off he stood from his spot. His hair was dry and he was already in his night clothes, a basic white tee and boxers so he was more than ready to be welcomed in his bed.
