( the basics ) ; avatar style
this is a third point of view, para, alternate universe roleplay. No one is an idol. In fact, you all play a role in the duel avatars life. some of you will be their teachers, some of you will be nothing more than mere friends, while others while be their enemy who want to rebuild the equalist movement. the avatars must befriend everyone in this rp. you might only know one avatar, since they both don't have to know you, only one does. now, i would suggest making background stories with other roleplayers and posting those on your profile so it doesn't get confusing and you don't forget. also please note, if you'd like to have your own store let me know and I'll be glad to make a room for it. I would encourage reading all the sections provided on this page.
❃ For the two avatars:
Please include a detailed history and personality on your profile. Since there are two avatars in this rp, I would encourage you two to get along. However, you do not have to. It'd be more interesting if you didn't. You could even divide the elements up so that they are polar opposites-one could learn the ways of earth and air bending and the other could know water and fire bending. In this roleplay, the avatar can learn subsets of bending (blood bending, mental bending, etc.) since they cannot control the four elements. Another thing to keep in mind is that to go into the Avatar state, you must be relatively close to each other and if one goes into the Avatar state, the other one does as well. So keep your feelings under control.
You two can join pro bending groups-you just have to be invited. Other roleplayers get to pick and choose who they want as team mates. And we will be following the same rules as on the show, so be aware you can only bend one element during the match. You do not get to have any other kind of side job though-the Avatars in this rp are just beginners and haven't master any elements yet.
As the Avatar, your enemy is anyone who does not support the Avatar, or anti benders. Fight crime and keep peace-even if the problems seem stupid! Also, don't be afraid to slip up. This roleplay encourages character development-don't apply with a Mary Sue and think that everyone will love your character because we won't. Give your character room to improve.
( the basics ) ; civilian style
if you aren't the avatar, you are a everyday civilian. well, some of you. some of you might be nonbenders while others are benders. this next paragraph refers to nonbenders. if you have any questions, let me know!
❃ For the nonbenders:
Your kind has grown a lot since the hundred year war! Now, most nonbenders know how to chi block. So then, you might be asking what does the application mean by style of fighting? It's simply asking what weapon you use. Are you into swords or do you prefer throwing darts? It's up to you really, just no guns. Nonbenders do not have to be apart of rebuilding the equalist movement-but it is highly encourage. Why? Every roleplay needs both sides. In this roleplay, the nonbenders who want to are trying to rebuild the equalist movement peacefully, unlike amon. They are not the bad guys, and need to remind the Avatar somehow, that he/she is their Avatar as well. However, if you do decide that you want to be apart of the Equalist movement, you do not need to include it on your application but on your profile please put a picture of amon somewhere on there. If you are apart of the equalist movement, please also include that on your profile along with your history, personality, weapon of choice and if you are a master or novice. For nonbender profiles, I would include someway the past revolutions affected your family. Maybe a fire bender killed your grandpa, or the equalist movement resulted in your father losing his bending and you swore revenge. Be creative. Give yourself a interesting background story.
Wait, what? Whats a master or novice? Well for nonbenders this means do you know your weapon well? Can you fight flawlessly? Or do you need training? If you do decide to be a master, be aware you must teach novices how to fight. There will be a room for you to rp in to do so. Masters must be slightly more active and willing to rp with any and all nonbenders. Mastesr also cannot be biased within the training area-so they cannot turn anyway any equalist. Novices must train until their masters say otherwise. Masters also can give their novices missions. Maybe have them steal some fruit, or climb to the top of air temple island without be caught. You make this roleplay as interesting as you want it to be.
Side jobs for nonbenders include simple things;like owning your own tea shop. Being a historian. Maybe you make cars. Maybe you have a zoo. You could even host a radio show-in which case, I'll make a page for journalist and anchors to post news. Whether the news is true or fasle, well that is up to you. Whatever your little heart desires. Maybe you spend all day and night plotting ways to rally your other equalist brothers and sisters to do a peaceful protest demanding more rights for nonbenders while secretly preparing for a war. /imeanwhat? Remember, give your character room to grow! We don't like Mary Sues of either gender.
❃ For the benders:
Just like the other two options, you get to pick a idol and make up their age. But as a bender, you get a few different positive aspects and drawbacks. The benders of this roleplay also play a huge role in the Avatars lives-you can be their teammates, or maybe, you could be a bender who agrees with the equalist. However, benders in this roleplay get a little more power. Within the first weeks, we'll elect representatives of the council. One roleplayer for each nation. And then a head of cheif of police. Benders are the only ones who can be elected so that's pretty awesome if you ask me. Those members can create new laws and try to bend the Avatars to do whatever they please. Maybe they don't want any nonbenders in the city ever again. It's your story-make it as interesting as possible.
Benders, just like nonbenders can either be a novice or a master. If you start off as a master though, you cannot learn the subsets of bending. However, we still need Masters so please understand that if you are a master, you probably will have more interactions with everyone. Some Masters train the Avatars. Master also train novices and give them missions. You can give students scrolls on how to heal, or give students scrolls on the secrets of metal bending. You can have your air students craft their own gliders and have students shadow other Masters. Some Masters are personal bodyguards of the Avatar. Some may be police who arrest other benders for destroying city propetry. Maybe you want to make your own gang-that way you can control more of the city. Plus, it makes for a better storyline. You decide. Benders, just like nonbenders, can have any kind of side job they desire. Even probending! Oh boy oh boy! For probending, you get to name your own team and find your own teammates from two different nations. And then, train and we will have finals and matches everyweek!
For a benders profile. please include a good sized history and personality. Also include whether you are a novice or not. If you are a Master, please note what you would prefer to do with your time (Teach others, Give missions, track equalist, etc.) Novices, please note you train until your Master says otherwise. Be creative. This is your story. Make it as interesting as possible. Allow your character to grow and make mistakes. I want to see some almost fatal mistakes and other amazing events!
