Head Priest-

HM_Kevin Woo 11 years ago
@HM_Kim Joonmyeon Eyebrows furrowed, Kevin was just about to ask how the priest even knew who he WAS until he realized... he was probably the only /blonde/ male in the church who HADN'T been to confessional. One of those process of elimination things, pretty much. The fact that his very voice may have been distinctive crossed his mind before being dismissed. Kevin had never spoken to the priest, only looked over pew after pew of people at the man as he spoke on the Bible and drew examples from their lives here...

Realizing that his mind was starting to wander, Kevin shook his head a little and smiled weakly at the other's admittance to a similar fear. "Like a guardian angel, then?" he queried, biting his lip thoughtfully. "Even though I don't actually know any wolves personally..."

His voice trailed off when he realized that yes, he DID know of (or at least had suspicions regarding) a certain wolf. The jet-black one that had sat outside his home the night he'd been attacked. The idea that the wolf was Kyungsoo had taken plant in his mind and wouldn't unstick for love nor money. Not that it would have made much of a difference anyways - he didn't want to make things awkward between them by picking Kyungsoo out as a WOLF. To protect and SERVE him.

Shaking his head again, the schoolteacher patted his cheeks lightly in an attempt to knock common sense into himself. That was all assuming that the black wolf was Kyungsoo to start with. And even if it was, there was no guarantee that he'd be there when Kevin decided to go and pick out a wolf of his own. Their relationship could be the same, if not altered slightly by the wolf Kevin would have chosen.

"That's a good idea, Father," he murmured under his breath, all his thinking taking place in the span of under 30 seconds. "I'll... look into that. Try to treat them well and hope others do too, yes?" A small smile before he bowed slightly in the priest's general direction. "Thank you for your help. I'll be back for next mass."

@HM_Kevin Woo The petite male let out a soft laugh as he saw Kevin's reaction.

"I hope I didn't startle you, Mr. Woo," he murmurred, "Your question is one that is common among strong believers. Don't feel as if you are shunning God and disobeying him by choosing a wolf."

He paused for a moment to make sure no one was listening.

"To tell you the truth, I'm scared of the Darkness. I trust the Father, but it wouldn't hurt to have a "back-up", just in case the Lord is a little busy with more important matters, right?" Joonmyeon chuckled, "I don't personally think that the act of choosing a wolf is unlawful to God. He'll judge you on how you treat him or her."

"If you feel uncertain about your wolf, pick one that you're close to: a family member, a friend, perhaps a lover. That way, it'll feel less than a forced job and more like a duty to someone you love-both for you and your partner."

@HM_Kim Joonmyeon [My God... I just reread my post. O_O
Sorry for quali. OTL]

The blonde seriously had not been expecting someone to be on the other side of the partition when he had entered, but he thanked his lucky stars that he didn't jump or flail too much in surprise. Still, he DID start a little, and Kevin thought that he was going to have some kind of mini-heart attack.

He had gone to the services in the church regularly enough, but usually sat in the back so's not to draw attention. The priest's messages were usually good, no complaints from Kevin, but the latter always left minutes before everyone else did, just as the closing prayers were winding up. He didn't even know if the person on the other side of the confessional screen knew who he was, much less what he had done back home... but that would be a different time to tell the tale.

"I guess... I just don't have enough faith. In Him, I mean. I know He can protect me and all, but... lately, 't seems like He's been busy." A heavy sigh, and Kevin went on, finding it surprising easy to vent his heart to someone he couldn't even see. "I don't want a wolf, but at the same time, I don't want to have one go to a bad master. Can't save them all, but I guess I could save one. I'd make sure to treat 'em well, make no mistake."

Another sigh, a bit of shifting around, and the schoolteacher ran slim fingers through golden hair. "I'm just torn. Getting a wolf would show that I don't have faith in the Allfather, right? But not getting one might just be a sign of disobedience, not taking what He has given as an opportunity... I don't know, I just don't know."

@HM_Kevin Woo Joonmyeon smiled softly as he readjusted his glasses and positioned himself comfortably on his hidden chair in the confessional. How humble this visitor was. Most of the communion's members confessed rather adulterous and sickening sins boldly, as if not ashamed by their crimes. This voice was slightly familiar. Kevin Woo, guessed Joonmyeon. He was the quiet man that came to mass faithfully and always bowed his head to the priest. A good man, in all.

"You're not bothering me, my friend," Joonmyeon said, "It is my duty to listen to you. Please do continue."

To be truthful, Joonmyeon himself had the same dilemma. News of Darkness sightings were increasing and it became painfully obvious that it was targeting notable members of the community-including religious leaders. The head priest had been strongly urged by the government and other men of cloth to choose a wolf, but Joonmyeon felt it unlawful in God's eyes.

He didn't want to be an unnecessary burden to another being. Joonmyeon's mother and her wolf had died protecting him-he didn't want another to suffer in his stead. To him, God was his shield and if the Father chose to let the Darkness destroy him, such was his fate.

Kevin didn't know what drew him to the huge, imposing structure. He subscribed to his village religion, which was similar enough to the main one, he supposed, but there was something about the steeples practically brushing the sky that led his booted feet inside the cathedral.

High arched ceilings and multicolored beams of light shining through the stained-glass windows made him sweep his hat from his head in awe and make the mark of a cross over his chest, eyes wide and staring. A familiar sight greeted him then, a small wooden booth - a confessional. Well, Kevin had quite a lot to get off his chest. And from the looks of it, there wasn't gonna be anyone around to hear him vent himself anyways.

Taking a deep breath for courage, he opened the little door and slipped onto the bench, fists gathering the cloak at his knees. "Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned," he muttered automatically. "I just... haven't been here in a while. I'm not used to being here, see. I haven't really had time or anything, see... I just..."

He sighed and bit his lip, closing his eyes. "I guess I need a wolf now. I don't want to get one, but I've been in trouble. And I need one for protection. I don't want to enslave them, though..." Another sigh and he leaned back against the wooden wall. "Sorry for bothering you, though..."
