@( ⚡ ) park chanyeol Fire danced in his eyes at the sarcastic tone. Is he going to blackmail me with this? Was he really going to do something that low? But, what do you expect from a puny human? He clenched his fists, thinking of different insults to throw when he met eyes with Chanyeol. He saw the subtle smile and the change of tone in his voice threw him off. It made the demon chew his lower lip in desperation, thinking of words to piece together. What was he to say? He didn't know the first thing about dramas. A loved one died? Someone broke up with their significant other? He wanted to pull at his hair. He looked up, and immediately regretted it because it reminded him of how much time he'd spent thinking of an excuse. But, a brilliant idea flashed in his mind. He knew that he needed a sad situation, and that he needed to get his problems off his chest. "The um, main character's parents wanted to disown her for no reason, and the main character always tried to please her parents, but nothing seemed to work. And there were flashbacks of her past, and how her parents always paid her no attention. She was neglected by the same people that brought him into this world, and - " But he failed to finish his sentence. Okay, so maybe it wasn't the best idea to base the excuse off his own situation, because reality came slapping him in the face and it lost the demon in his own world, but tears came pooling in his eyes again. He forced them back, plastering a blank expression to replace any signs of emotion. "And it's alright, it was sad at first, but I think I'm fine now. Thanks anyways." He shot a quick glare at the human, signalling him that it was time for him to leave, but the human kept standing.
@( ♕ ) byun baekhyun Chanyeol lowered his fist and raked an eye over Baekhyun, taking in his disheveled appearance and red-rimmed eyes. Chanyeol obviously didn't believe his words for a moment and he drawled skeptically, "Really? That must be one heart wrenching scene indeed. Mind sharing it with me?" Locking gazes with Baekhyun, Chanyeol flashed him a small smile, taking the sarcasm out of his next words and softening his tone. "Mind sharing it with me?" Chanyeol repeated. He took a step back to give Baekhyun some space. "It sounded like you needed a partner in there, you know. Sometimes, sad episodes aren't that hard to tide through with a companion by your side." Chanyeol gave no hint that he was making fun of Baekhyun and, truth be told, he wasn't. He meant his words, although probably not for the reason that the demon thought. Then again, maybe not because he didn't know his fellow kingka very well. If Chanyeol managed to breach the first wall of animosity that Baekhyun held against him, there was a high chance that he would breach the rest. Chanyeol was a person made for others to trust, after all. A mere human. Who would suspect anything? Melting down this demon might do wonders to his popularity. What could possibly go wrong?
The sound of knocking combined with a certain baritone voice rang into his ears. _____. Someone had heard him crying, what wonders that did to his reputation. He developed walls around him, making sure that no one could penetrate them, purposefully or not. And they all came crashing down when someone heard his cries of exasperation. He wiped the tears mixed with smudged eyeliner, checking for red eyes or black streaks in the bathroom mirror. He mustered up the best stoic expression he had despite of his previous breakdown, and forced the door open. Park Chanyeol. The human that managed to pull his way up to the popular status, and for what reason? For being tall? He snarled, curling his upper lip in distaste. He was a human. A human. The weaker species, they didn't have special features or abilities. Peacemaking? Control? It made him inwardly scoff. They were nothing compared to his - he could freaking shapeshift, use fire, and hell, he could even teleport. What was Chanyeol in comparison to Baekhyun? Nothing. But there he stood, one fist up as if he was about to knock on the door once more. "I'm fine." He rattled his brain for an explanation to the sobbing noises. "And I was trying to catch up on an episode of my favorite drama, I think it was too loud." He winced slightly at the horrible excuse, hoping that the taller would believe him.
It wasn't that he had nothing to do or that he had no close friends. At least, that was what Chanyeol kept telling himself as he wandered around the campus without a specific destination in mind. He stalked the hallways, roamed the courtyard and now he found himself pacing the corridors of the different dormitories. Life as a popular kid was tough. Nearly everybody knew him but none were his real friends, save for a few. Chanyeol shook his head. Get the negative thoughts out of your head, he told himself sternly. It was all worth it. Chanyeol's trademark grin found its way to his lips as he rounded a corner, just in time to see a familiar figure dash into a room. The slamming of the door echoed through the building.
Was that...? Chanyeol arched a curious eyebrow. He recognised who the figure was and to say he was surprised was an understatement. Byun Baekhyun. He knew of the latter for they were part of the same social circle but their paths never crossed. His astonishment heightened when the sobbing sounds reached his ears. That didn't quite fit the image Chanyeol had pieced together from what he knew of Baekhyun. He hesitated outside the closed door, wondering if it was a good idea to intrude and deciding that this was better than giving himself a tour of the whole school before the day was over.
Chanyeol raised a fist and knocked. "Is everything alright in there?" he called, raising his voice over the loud sobs. He knocked twice more just in case Baekhyun didn't hear him the first time.
@( ⚡ ) park chanyeol Baekhyun ran into his dorm, slamming the door and not caring to even lock it. No one would dare walk into his room, anyways. They'd be dead meat before even stepping into the dorm. The male flopped onto his bed, staring at his most prized possession, his phone. A few minutes ago, his parents thought that it'd be best if he detached from the family, stating that it was for the best, and that to agree because if he didn't, he'd be selfish. He sighed and covered his face inside his hands. Translation? His parents wanted to disown him. And for what reason? He had straight As, he joined a bunch of clubs just to satisfy them, he even stopped using his abilities as a demon. But still, it just wasn't enough. Out of pent-up anger and frustration, he started to shed tears. And not just a few tears, a whole waterfall. They spilled down his cheeks and left him as a sobbing mess, sniffles echoed throughout the empty room, gasps barely muffled.
