Ren 11 years ago
There was so much negative energy around, as absolutely weird as that sounded. But no, Ren could sense it. They hated him. Everything was scared or disliked him and he could feel it as it sent pain shooting through his head. It was worse than when his fellow Fallen rejected him, because Ren could accept that sometimes, they were just being shallow and prejudice. But the animals, the spirits... they knew. They were wise. And if they felt that Ren was too dangerous to be around, then they had to be right. Well, he didn't care anyway. Or maybe he did? Just being around Seungri, talking to him, was confusing Ren. The other had this way, even when they were talking about sad stuff, to pick him apart and show him things he didn't even know about himself. It was strange. New. Interesting. So he'd stay with it.
Of course, that all died when the blonde noticed the man's reaction to his shadows. He could see, not just sense, but /see/ the spirits back away. It was kind of disappointing, although he was used to it enough that it didn't matter. Oh well, it had been nice talking to Seungri while it lasted...
Ren found himself to be the surprised one when Seungri wanted... he wanted to be friends? The other was wavering. It was obvious. That meant there was either reluctance or fear in play, and the Fallen didn't know which one he preferred and felt was less bothersome. But even his fragile smile seemed to hit Ren in a place very few ever cared to. Seungri was interesting. That meant they could play a bit more, right?
"I don't do friends, you know. They trained me not to trust people." He began, but stepped forward to grab the other's hand once more and give him a small, possibly genuine, smile. "But if you really want to hang out and talk and things like that... I think that would be interesting." He said. It was his way of accepting. The only way he knew how.
Seungri 11 years ago
Eyes gazing out absently into the deep blue of the tank, Seungri couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed when the creatures in there suddenly scattered away from them again... Did Ren just do or think something that they could feel? At least the spirits could, getting more and more agitated and fearful the longer they lingered around the Fallen, whispering into his ear to just GO, GO, GO. Get away from Ren, that was what they wanted. But again, just as before... He resisted their advice and remained.
Stayed next to him as the male replied... Talking about history, the ancient civilizations of the past. This made a slight curve of a smile come onto Seungri's features as he could feel one of the more "hotter" spirits buzz excitedly at the mentions of the ancient warriors back then. If he could remember correctly too, this one was an ancient Mongolian warrior with the Genghis Khan of history... But even as his mind wandered off, his attention was quickly brought back at the mention of HIMSELF. Of him, Seungri... Being strong enough? A soft scoff escaped the Necromancer's mouth there as he shook his head humbly... He was never strong enough in anyone's eyes... Especially not his family or the superiors though for different reasons.
The spirits around him pulsed in response too, sending him their sympathies and figurative "pats on his shoulders" to make Seungri feel better... That was partly the reason why he loved them so much. Unlike everyone else, actually everyone else besides a choice few and now Ren, they understood him. And the thing was that he understood the Fallen's situation too... Feeling inferior to everyone else, either because he didn't seem to be in the right "mind" or just didn't possess enough power...
But his eyes widened at the sight of the shadow creeping up Ren's pale hand, the spirits reeling back and whispering in surprise or fear too. At least Seungri didn't back away as they did, hovering behind his head and making a sort of glow behind there that as they were clumped, could possibly be seen by the Fallen as there was so much power congregated together... A faint aura of purple from Seungri's that diffused slightly with the spirit's before they managed to compose themselves again, whispering even more rushed and scared words into his ear. As for the Necromancer himself, he simply absently batted them away as his expression was pulled into a concerned frown... Seemed like Ren really did have it harder than him.
MUCH harder as he bravely stepped over and placed a hand on the Fallen's shoulder, pulling up a slight smile as Seungri shook his head. "No, not alone. It doesn't seem like the other Fallens appreciate you much, right?" Under the bubbliness of youth that he had, there was a wise and knowledgeable interior, greatly aided by the spirits' experiences, "I'll be your friend if that isn't too much for you, Ren" Those words were more quietly spoken as the smile threatened to crash down at any moment... Bringing back terrible memories of rejection the last time he tried to offer his friendship to someone. No one wanted to be associated with the crazy kid...
But maybe the Fallen could at least tolerate him somewhat? Giving a gentle squeeze to his shoulder, Seungri made quick progress to withdraw his hand back as he took several steps back to where the spirits were worriedly clustered around him since he was so close to that shadow... "I mean, if you don't want to be friends with me, it's alright... I guess..." he murmured quietly and ignoring them for the time being, bowing his head again and ready to leave with his little companions if that was what Ren wanted him to do...

Despite the other's aura, the sort of feeling that he gave off, which were uncharacteristically bright for a supernatural, Ren felt a little.. disappointed? Seungri himself hardly gave off any dark emotions except when his mood changed, and that was understandable based on what he was talking about. But the air around him that the Fallen could only guess must be filled with spirits, now that was different. Ren could feel so much dislike, almost hatred for him, or maybe it was fear? Either way, it was understandable, whether he liked it or not. They were just wise like that. Avoid the walking time bomb. Good idea. His hand clenched unconsciously, and all of the fish scattered as if on cue. They could sense it. It was something that the blonde himself couldn't quite comprehend or fathom, but whatever it was, it had to be dangerous, right?
"That's really unusual; I know that much. Maybe that's not such a bad thing, though. Throughout history, many rulers have found much more success through ruling justly as opposed to controlling their people with fear. Take Alexander the Great, for example. One of the greatest conquerors of all time, conquering most of the known world at that time. If I'm correct, for each new people race and country he conquered, he allowed them to keep their culture and customs. Instead of stripping away their identity, the people were allowed to keep it, which lead to many new ideas and inventions, arts and trade opportunities and pieces of history that would have otherwise been lost. The Romans. Also one of the great ancient civilizations, maintaining order through a council and representatives. Maybe they're gone now from wars and states fighting for their independence, but it worked. There is something to be gained when someone, someone like you, is strong enough to shoulder the burdens of others as well as your own."
He didn't really understand the words that came out of his mouth. Most of it was just reciting some of the books that he had read recently, but they weren't offensive to the other and hopefully weren't going to cause any conflicts, so Ren just left it there.
"I can see what you say about the spirits. You know, when we Fallen are cast down, to the Angels still remaining... we are seen as more than inferior. I guess it's sort of the same. They just don't understand."
Ren found himself biting his lip. Now it was really just stating facts. He wasn't one of those misunderstood, right? His purpose was clear. That was just the end of it.
"Shadows... aren't like your spirits, you know. It's less of them having their own will and more of just instinct. They're not supposed to exist in this form anyway." He checked to make sure no one else was in the room, before a shadowy snake pulled itself away from when it had appeared with the looming shark, curling around his arm and wrist. "They have no conscience, no feelings. All they do is consume and consume more, to attack whatever to get what they want. Rather barbaric, really. I've tried to see if they have some form of soul or being, something to talk to me... but it hasn't worked. Unlike you, I'm all alone with these cursed powers."

Even contrary to what some of the spirits were hissing into his ear, to get away from this Fallen that had so much "danger" around him, it seemed as if Seungri wasn't able to. Correction, he didn't WANT to leave. Even though he might not realize it... But the boy was heavily influenced by the spirits to the point that he really didn't even have his own will at all... Just followed along with what they said. But this time, he was going to do what HE wanted to do instead.
Some of the less disapproving spirits simply whispered cautionary things to the male as Seungri moved a bit closer to the Fallen so that he could hear his words carefully... And for sure too. It would be terribly embarrassing if he was forced to simply ask what he was saying... But tilting his head curiously at Ren, the boy had a bit of sadness reflected in his eyes. It seemed as if the Fallen was genuinely interested in getting to know him... Something that was more or less delightful for the spirit walker.
But back to the words that were being inquired to him, Seungri pressed a hand up to the glass, noticing how the fish were... Coming back to them? A slight smile curled onto his lips at the sight, knowing how his powers were... Considered so much less "potent" than the other Necromancers. Keeping his voice soft, he replied, "Just as I said before, I'm a spirit walker. I make treaties and pacts with spirits while the others... They control the spirits. They see me as being weak... As being more or less useless because I don- I can't control spirits." Glancing back up to the companions flitting around his head and murmuring words of approval to what he was saying, he lowered his eyes back down to fix onto the Fallen's, "But they never actually talk to the spirits... The others don't know how THEY feel as well. The spirits, they were once beings too. They're intelligent, capable of their own powers when they need to just like us..."
Seeing the fish start to now resume to their usual paths of swimming about the tank, he smiled again. But how Ren described his powers over the shadows prompted Seungri to pause for a moment before continuing on, "You could say I'm more attuned to spirits. I can hear their pain, their cries whenever they're leashed in to one of the other's commands..." His eyes closing at the agonizing calls of help to him at night and a slight shiver going down his spine, "It hurts. It hurts to hear them scream for help and then become enslaved... Many of the spirits have turned mad and rogue because of their treatment before... That's why I have a few of my 'friends' following me around. They know they're safe with me," his voice growing softer before daring to then crack open his eyes towards the Fallen with a rueful smile on his face.
Tilting his head upwards, Seungri coudl see the spirits cheering him on with excited words, bouncing happily and their auras pulsing with contentment. Then fixing his eyes back on the Fallen, he inquired as the shadow of a large shark passed them over, "Have you tried to speak to the shadows on an equal term? Consider them as your companions and teammates instead of just tools or weapons?"

His eyes. That's what caught Ren's attention, forced him to take a good look at this man beside him who he would normally just walk away from. They weren't unusual, that much was certain, even when there was a tint of purple. But they were... They were too much like his own, which both intrigued him and scared him. What were the chances that Seungri was really like him, that he could understand what he had been through? It wasn't likely. Even if they /were/ both outcasts, they could have different desires, different goals. But it had caught his attention, and now he would unravel the mysteries behind this stranger.
"I guess you could say I felt them.. Well, not really the spirits themselves. I can't do that, sadly. But... they don't like me. I can feel it, and I guess they have a good reason not to, just like the fish. I can sense their fear, their hatred, everything negative against me... So basically, if for some reason they would start to like me, I couldn't see them at all."
He explained, examining the other's face with his own curiosity. Seungri seemed almost desperate. It wasn't exactly like that, because Ren could tell that he had accepted his circumstances. But just because one could live with it, didn't mean that they wouldn't seek out their own happiness, and this was clearly the case. The Fallen could understand that, and somehow, he found himself drawn towards humoring the other.
"It's fine, really. I think you're interesting, that's all. But to address what else you've said, I'm curious what you mean when you say you're not like the others. Did they reject you? And why would they? You're talking to me; surely that means you couldn't have gotten on their bad side so easily. I don't think you're crazy. Aren't we all, in our messed up world? It's just that people often don't like you... us, for being different. Something they can't control, that goes against what they know and believe. They break us, over and over again..."
He trailed off, turning back to the expanse of blue and noting with surprise that some of the fish had come over, almost hesitantly. They still stayed away from him, but the side that was closest to Seungri had a few of the smaller and more adventurous swimming back and forth. Impressive. Did that mean that there was something about the other that could be trusted, something that only the animals and spirits were able to see?
"But yes, I control shadows, as well as prevent them from controlling me. Actually, I was a little... nervous about coming here, since there's so much darkness around and only recently, I actually lost control. It's taken me this long to start to get them to obey me once more... Spirits don't do that, do they?"
His head turned back to look at the other, curiosity in his expression.
Seungri 11 years ago
Getting an unanimous call from all the spirits buzzing around him that no, Seungri wasn't repelling the animals in the slightest, then the male turned towards his new "friend" with a wide grin on his face. The tiny hues of the spirits around him, each one of them with a different color based on what kind of person they were in life, continued to buzz around his head. There were a lot more blues and cooler colors than there were reds or oranges... Those tended to go for the more violent Necromancers, not this easy-going male who attracted the kinder spirits. However, one could never know with spirits as they were completely unpredictable...
Tilting his head to one side at the statement the Fallen said, now Seungri actually slipped off those oversized sunglasses... A flash of purple that indicated his power was in work over the spirits before his eyes resumed their normal dark brown color. "Death? You felt my friends?" he inquired curiously, expression simply hungry for any sort of response or reaction that meant that the male was... Talking TO him, not about him. He had been ignored and shunned for far too long... Even from his own people, the Necromancers.
Laughing softly, the shadows under his eyes were now quite obvious in the blue tint of the water as he gave the Fallen a smile, eager to be more acquainted with the male, "You can call me Seungri. Victory and all, I don't really like my real name." A look of suppressed pain was on his face for a brief second before he continued babbling on, "And since you know that I have my friends around, it's not really needed to say that I don't belong in an asylum. I don't like it when people call me a necromancer though... Since I'm not really like the others." A slight rueful smile was on his face as he raised a hand, a small spirit coming to rest on his palm, "Could classify me as one of them, but I prefer the term 'spirit walker'. I make pacts with spirits and talk to ghosts." Closing his palm, the tiny spirit flitted back to its companions hovering around his head as the Necromancer gazed towards Ren again, "Do I sound crazy to you?" blinking his eyes as the smile faded off his face.
The spirits in response, buzzed even more around him and whispered things into his ear. "Yeah, yeah... I know... Fallens are dangerous... Wait, he controls shadows?" he muttered under his breath to them, trying to shoo them away while he was talking to an actual person as he raised his eyes back up to the male next to him with some more curiosity in those purple tinted eyes. But just as soon as he inquired about Ren's power, Seungri quickly realized just how nosy and annoying he must be... Judging by some of the more calmer hued spirits trying to shush him down and let the Fallen have an opportunity to speak. He always listened to them, his mentors and protectors, so he shrugged and bowed his head, "Sorry if I talk too much... It's been a while since anyone asked anything about me..." his voice growing softer and less chipper than it always was.

Ren wasn't startled when the odd man suddenly approached him. He had no reason to, and if the stranger tried anything, the "Stranger Danger!" card could always work wonders. Especially with his feminine and delicate appearance, he could have anyone watching wrapped around his finger. But there seemed something off about this man, not even counting his clothes. And what followed him..
All of a sudden, Ren sensed it, and he bit his lip and clenched his fists for a second at the pain shooting through his head that he hadn't adjusted to yet. There was something, and he was willing to bet that it was spirits or something of the sort. Of course he couldn't see them, but he could sense it. Fear, agitation, all existing in places that were supposed to be empty. Over the years, the Fallen had finally figured out what it was from an encounter with a Necromancer. And seeing as how it all happened when the man approached, that left only one conclusion. He hated fighting them. He'd stay civil, but the other probably already knew about his supernatural existence.
"Yeah, something's wrong with me, you could say. You know that they're supposed to like my kind, right? But all animals hate me, except the few that are too innocent to tell the difference. Apparently they have no problem with the scent of death, huh?"
He followed the man's line of sight, at least what he could tell from behind those sunglasses, and sure enough he was looking at the high concentration of animosity that Ren could sense. Those spirits were really smart, but of course that made sense. Some of them had been around even longer than he had. But the fact that there were so many of them, that was a little unique. Normally Necromancers could scare away even the dead, save their companion and maybe a few undyingly loyal. That had to mean something was different about this man, and Ren wanted to know, especially since he had little else to do.
"I'm Ren." He said, flashing a small, innocent smile. "And you are?"
Seungri 11 years ago
A soft tune humming from the male, he was seated by himself on a bench in the dark blueness of the aquarium. Dressed in a overcoat that had an upturned collar, hiding his mouth behind it and oversized sunglasses, they seemed unnecessary in the darkness of the building. Yet, there he was... A faint smile on his face as he watched people go by him, some of them giving the male an odd look. And odd indeed he was, but it wasn't like Seungri cared at all. He didn't care about what people said about him, what they thought about him... All he cared about were his "friends". Those ghostly spirits that whispered things into his ear, that told him secrets that he would have never known otherwise... The Necromancer felt so powerful just by himself and his companions.
Occasionally he would babble away to the ghostly spirit sitting next to him much to the confusion of anyone in the room with him, the ghost taking the form of a quite curvy and beautiful girl that smiled and nodded to his corny jokes or lame pick-up lines. Never saying anything though, Seungri had yet to find out why she was dead or why she was following him around. Not that he minded in the least though.
Then a new presence in the room, one that excited the smaller spirits that couldn't take much of any form except as little wisps of light. They flitted around excitedly and with a bit of fear that the Necromancer could feel, whispering things to him in his ear. A carefree looking smile appeared on his face then as the ghostly girl next to him faded away for the time being, eyes widened at the newcomer... Seungri knew that she would be back. She always would be, of course.
For the meantime though, the panda-like male tilted his head curiously towards the male who was staring through the glass... Even though people might think he was crazy, but the Necromancer was far more perceptive than the average human. Right off the bat as soon as he saw those sea animals skitter or swim away from him, Seungri knew that this was something different. Then his spirit companions whispered, "Fallen... Angels... Fallen..." in many different voices to him. A low laugh escaped him as he replied back to them, "Fallen, huh? Thought the animals liked Fallens..." hardly giving any thought to what the male was muttering to himself.
The spirits continued to be agitated by the Fallen's presence, fluttering about above and around him as Seungri stood up from his seat and casually made his way over to press his face towards the glass next to the male. With a friendly smile on his face, the Necromancer replied back to his question, "Something wrong with you? They don't really do that with me... Right?" his eyes glancing off behind him towards the spirits that might seem like he was simply talking to thin air from Ren's perspective.

Yeah, so maybe he was skipping class again, and maybe the occasional looks thrown at him were not his favorite thing. At least his school uniform was hidden under his coat and scarf, and the hat on his head somehow made it easier to ignore the annoying people around him. But whenever he got particularly bored of school, the Fallen would come here, when there was absolutely no one around. Like seriously, the whole place was empty, except for maybe one or two other people. Then he could curiously examine all of the fish as much as he wanted, and if he talked to them, then no one would care.
Animals of all sort interested him. They could feel and yet couldn't, being able to express themselves yet not. He liked the Aquarium best, with all of the cold blooded fish and sea creatures. Even they had some of those killer, animalistic instincts. Every single one of them stayed away from where he was, looking in through the glass. Every one of them was avoiding him, as if they knew that something was off.
"I wonder what they're thinking when they do that."
He muttered to himself, unaware that there was someone else in earshot.
