Cathedral

Inside the cathedral is a tropical oasis. A small pond, beautiful purple flowers, and many cozy green plants. Fae adore this building as a peaceful getaway.

@☩ Himchan "Black would suit you. Besides, you'll stick out while trying to hunt beasts. With black hair you'll at least blend in a little better." Sunggyu advised in a very paternal tone, though he honestly knew nothing about the realities of beast taming. He imagined there were ones who chose to be stealthy and others who just threw caution to the wind. After all the years they'd spent apart, he definitely had no idea what sort of tamer Himchan had turned out to be.

Laying down in the grass, he let out a small grunt as his brother pillowed his head on his chubby stomach, but didn't push him away. It felt nice to be close to him. His words caught him by surprise, though, and Sunggyu didn't have a chance to hide it. "Really...? Why?" He asked tentatively, not understand how Himchan could like him so much when he'd treated him so cruelly when they were children. As he continued to listen to his brother, Sunggyu felt his forgotten guilt begin to sink in. He'd been too afraid of upsetting his father to go after Himchan when he was younger. The man hated him enough without him defying his authority and he hadn't wanted to give him more of a reason.

Slowly, he moved to intertwine his fingers with Himchan's that had been playing with his hands. "What's the sense in bringing up the past now?" He asked softly, his voice thick with repressed emotion. "We've changed... and father is gone now. We can start over."

@☩ Himchan ((I'm guessing we're not continuing this, huh?))

@☩ Himchan Tilting his head, Sunggyu squinted his already tiny eyes to admire the blonde locks atop his brother's head. It was definitely different from what he was used to, but he had to admit that it didn't look bad. Not that he'd ever say that outloud to Himchan. "It makes you look like a child." He muttered with a shrug and averted his eyes as the other man sat down. He couldn't remember the last time that they had been together like this, just the two of them. Throughout their childhood, he hadn't exactly been the most agreeable older brother. His father always doted on and preferred his adoptive sons, Sunggyu knew even when he didn't say it out loud. It wasn't that it was Himchan's fault, but he certainly got the brunt of his frustration over it.

Over the years they'd spent apart, Sunggyu had a lot of time to grow up and think about the past and had come to realize that he didn't need his father's approval. Even if his father was ashamed of him and called him a failure of a son, so long as Sunggyu himself was happy with his path. Chuckling at the memory, the healer stretched back to lean on his elbows as he remembered that hilariously unfortunate explosion. "Ah, people have more important things to worry about nowadays than holding grudges over some childish slip up." He told him with a small smile. He hadn't agreed with his father sending Himchan away, but he had been too afraid to cross him in the past to say anything. "Bet that taught you to play around with my medical supplies, though."

@☩ Himchan "I'm not mean. You're just soft." Sitting up, Sunggyu finally got a good look at the younger man who he hadn't seen in quite a while. Beast tamers were out hunting often, patrolling their territory and protecting them from invading beasts. Usually the healer didn't see them until they stumbled back to the village with some sort of injury that needed treatment. However, his father had trained Himchan and Woohyun well, so luckily Sunggyu hadn't seen them with serious injuries. While he was thankful for that, being apart from the two men who he considered his brothers was a little disheartening. Sure, he may have acted callous as a hyung sometimes, but that was just how he was. Sunggyu wasn't exactly the most open and honest person, which he supposed was due to the tough way his father raised him. Emotions showed weakness.

Taking the small pouch, Sunggyu undid the small leather tie and looked inside to find an assortment of different herbs. Someone of them were very difficult to get or from far away. He could have never gotten these on his own. "Woah... Himchan, you really didn't have to do this." He murmured, but carefully tied the sack to his belt with a small smile. "Thank you, though. You shouldn't have gone through all the trouble."

"Yah, where do you think you're going? You didn't even tell me what you did to your hair." He stated firmly and waved his hand to invite the other closer. While he knew that Himchan was not his brother by blood, he had always thought that his hair had coincidentally been the same shade of red. He supposed that was childish naivity, though. After all, there weren't many people outside of his family in the Fae community which possessed such a naturally vibrant red color to their hair.

@☩ Himchan Sunggyu had been enjoying the calm stillness in the cathedral, but like all things it had to come to an end. Hearing a dreadfully familiar burst of laughter echo through the hallowed walls, the young Fae frowned deeply and knew that his moment of relaxation was going to be cut abruptly short. That characteristic laughter only accompanied one person, who he swore their whole purpose in life was to make his own as difficult as possible. Truthfully, his younger brother was a blessing, but Sunggyu had too much pride to admit that and give Himchan the satisfaction.

Sitting up, the redhead grimaced as the beast tamer bounded over to him, only to have karma sneak up and bite him. Sunggyu barked out a laugh as he watched Himchan tumble over, but it was quickly silenced as the flailing ball of his sibling fell onto him. "Oof!" His breath left him in a rush and he groaned, shoving at the person causing his discomfort. "And here I was thinking this sanctuary would hide me from you, too. Get off me!"

Laying amongst a bushel of purple flowers growing up from the foliage, Sunggyu sighed contently as he admired the way the sunlight streamed through the cloudy glass windows on the ceiling. The peaceful solitude of the overgrown cathedral almost seemed surreal in a time like this and for a moment Sunggyu could pretend that their world wasn't in peril. That there wasn't a battle between his people and the monstrous creatures known as beasts going on in the shadows. While he knew they weren't all bad, desire could turn even the strongest man desperate and he knew not to underestimate them. Still, if they lived their lives cowering then were they really living? He tried his best to continue on and enjoy moments like these whenever he can.
