@Levi Jean nodded once, trying to gather all of his courage for this. He had fought and had close encounters with the titans before, but each time he was close to having to fight yet another one, his courage and bravery would leave his body. He clicked his tongue, sprinting towards the tree Levea had directed at. His eyes would turn to look at the titan several times, making sure it was still a safe distance away.
She looked up toward the giant creature stomping down on the land in their direction. She turned to Jean and pointed her blade at a tree across the distance. "We're going to try to make it to that tree if possible, but if we can't get there in time you're going to have to distract it so I can kill it." She said. "Okay?" She nodded and began running toward one of the giant trees towering above them, but she could feel the booming steps becoming stronger and stronger.
@Levi Jean could hear the footsteps and his heart pounded in his chest, knowing that any sighting of a titan was a step closer to death. He leaped down from the branch, stumbling for a moment before following Levi, his hands clenching the handles tightly.
"Corporal, he should hurry. The titan is advancing from the south and it will be on us in just a few minutes." He pointed with his blade in the direction of the titan's body visible in the distance, it's strides in steps long.
@Jean Levi just continued down the tree almost blocking Jean out from pure concentration. "Let's go." He mumbled as the cables pulled him closer and closer to the bottom of the tree. He landed down on one of the roots of the giant tree and he waited for Jean. He couldn't see Jean at the moment, but in the distance he could hear the boom of a titans footsteps. "Sh*t." He cursed searching for Jean. "Keirstein, you may need to distract soon." Levi couldn't tell if the Titan was approaching or not, and he couldn't see where it was. He jumped down onto the flat grass between the towering trees looking for the best place to go
@Levi Jean couldn't help but hesitate for a moment before shooting the cables after Levi had made his safe landing on the tree. Leaping from the tree, he dove for the tree, letting the cables pull him forward. His eyes strayed for a moment, keeping alert to his surroundings before he hopped onto a rather flimsy branch on the tree, it bending under his weight. "Sh*t... We should hurry."
He gazed out at the grassy plain opposite of the Forest of Giant Trees, searching for the brown horse he had lost.
@Jean Levi looked at him seriously. "We would never know if we don't try," he aosy seemed a little bit like he cared in this moment, which may have surprised some people. "Let's give it a shot." His tone was a bit different, calmer yet he still seemed like the stuck up clean freak everyone knew him by. "Plus I wouldn't be here right now if I didn't walk on the ground for a little ways. If one comes for us, your job is to distract it. Slice it up so I can kill it and well be away for sure." He shot the cables down the tree a ways and flew off the branch getting closer to the ground
@Levi "Do you think we can make it before another titan comes? If a variant comes, we'd be on flat land and wouldn't be able to get away." Jean was cautious, maybe too cautious, but he didn't want to risk any titans coming near. Even if he had decided to join the stupid and brave scouting regiment, he still held back because he didn't want to risk dying. "If a titan doesn't come, I'm sure we could make it. Once we make it to the next tree, I'm sure that my horse will be in line of view."
@Jean He looked at the tree and simply nodded in agreement. "I suggest we go down the trunk of this tree and after were on the ground, we can probably run across the grass to another tree." He thought the plan over in his mind a few times before looking for a tree to run to. He pulled the sharp blades out from the worn metal boxes. "What do you say Jean?" He asked
@Levi Relieved, Jean pulled his blades out the box and smiled. "Thank you, Corporal!" He held onto the tree as he searched for any place he could safely hook the grappling hooks. As he searched, his fingers were poised on the trigger, ready to press the button when necessary.
He eyes landed on a nearby tree, yet he was slightly skeptical of the tree, seeing as it swayed quite a bit with each breeze. "There's that tree there that is the closest, but I wouldn't trust it. It doesn't look like it could stand both of us on it."
@Jean He looked around to see if there were any titans approaching them. "Why don't we do that, I left my horse by the entrance." He nodded attaching his triggers to another pair of sharp blades inside his blade box. "We're not far." He added drawing them out of his box in a way that almost seemed dramatic or exaggerated. "Erwin and the others may be approaching the forest, but if not were going to have to make it back to the wall on out own." You could tell levi liked the title of authority because he talked in a way that conveyed the confidence and 'better-ness' people may have thought he felt in his tone.
@Levi "I am.." He answered, his gaze shifting to his boots. He didn't mean to be separated from the formation. Jean didn't even know if anyone else had noticed that he had gone missing. He was satisfied now that he wasn't alone anymore, though the corporal never showed what he had planned so he knew that he had to watch carefully.
Jean suddenly perked up with thought, immediately suggesting, "If you could help me find my horse, we could get out of here. I lost her not too far from here. She has to be near because I was close enough to the Forest of Giant Trees."
@Jean He nodded sliding his blades back into the corresponding boxes laced to his sides with thick black belts. He watched the Titan blood evaporate off his fingertips into te air, his eyes still showed no emotion even though he was thinking about germs. "That makes sense. Alright, I'll quit harassing you." He said looking up at Jean. He paused for a moment looking down beneath them into the thick forest filled with giant ancient trees. He felt a stinging pain inside as he remembered what had happene here in the past, but Levi knew better than to let emotions show. "Are you by yourself up here?" He faced him again, now crossing his arms across his chest. He didn't suppose anyone else was full enough to have the idea of going ahead.. At lest he hoped.
@Levi Jerking his head up, Jean saw the familiar "hero" that everyone had favored. He immediately shoved himself up from the ground out of respect, nearly falling off the branch. He braced himself until he was finally stable, glancing for a moment at Levi.
"Because I didn't want to risk catching the attention of other titans, sir," he replied, pushing his blade back in the sheath. "I also don't want to die and I would most definitely make a run for it if I had my horse still. She kicked me off after a titan has stepped too close."
Jean's leg throbbed at the thought of the fall when he had made impact with the ground at the time, but the pain had faded once he had managed to get away from the titan, which was the very one that Levi has just cut down.
@Jean (( lmao no worries
Pretend there was a mission or something haha ))
Levi knew Jean had gone ahead on the mission and decided to go out looking for him. His cables swung him from tree to tree, getting closer and closer to the only activity he'd seen. There was a Titan, probably 7 meters, scratching away at the protective layering of the giant tree. Just then e caught a light in the corner of his eye, it was the reflection of the sun on Jeans blade. "Wuss.." Levi mumbled to himself approaching the monster pus figure from behind. He heard Jean speak and just after that he replied "Because you're good enough." He flew up the titans back slicing perfectly through th back of it neck the creature let out an agonizing groan and fell to the ground. He jumped up on the branch. "So why aren't you trying Keirsten?"
@Levi Jean clutched at the handles of his blades, staring down at the titan steaming from the base of the tree, it's large hands clawing at the bark. He almost felt sorry for the tree for its bark being stripped off little by little with each pull of the titan's hand. He cursed under his breath, searching around cautiously for any variants that could suddenly attack,
He had been stuck in the trees for almost thirty minutes, his horse having fled after becoming startled. Jean sat down on the thick tree branch, pulling his knees close to his chest. He worried for his own life, afraid that he would starve as the rest of the scouting regiment returned to the safety of the walls.
"Why did I even join with these stupid people..." He asked out loud, resting his forehead on the tops of his knees.
