I need opinions on rping as Jonghyun (SHINee)

I could really use some thoughts on this as it's a discussion my friends and I can't agree on.

Is it appropriate to rp as Jonghyun from SHINee?

And maybe answers to this would change somewhere in the future, but the question is for right now if that helps. For me the answer is still the same, but I understand if for some it's more about how soon it is.

If you have strong opinions one way or the other or could give any feedback in the comments I would truly appreciate it.

Please be kind this isn't meant to start a war or hurt anyone's feelings or anything...nor am I saying that I personally want to use him in rps. I just want general feedback from fellow fans and such.

if you want to, do it. don't stop just because other people don't like it, the world isn't made to cater to everyone's personal feelings, especially when it has no effect on them. if you like him, rp as him, don't conform to what other people want because it's not their decision.

I definitely think it's inappropriate for anyone to role-play as the deceased. i'm just a stranger, and I know your intentions are probably not bad at all! but I know a lot of people who are still struggling with his death especially. I think now, people are still getting comfortable seeing shinee members being role-played, and many people are still most definitely struggling with his death overall. I think they should be left alone to rest peacefully. privately? I think that be okay. but I think it's respectful to him, his family and friends and many fans that are still struggling with his death to not do so.

I'm gonna have to go against popular opinion here and say that it isn't inappropriate. I think if you, and the person you're rping with are cool with it, that's enough. Are all people currently playing Jonghyun expected to just stop? No. The only issue i see is others getting upset/offended. Time will change this, but fir a while, you may get harsh reactions to it...

Not everyone knows who is dead some people rp old ulzzangs where heck knows if they ate alive or dead but Jonghyun was popular and a lot people fans got affected by it I think it's too soon to even think of it

I honestly don't think it's okay to rp someone who isn't alive anymore. Other than being wrong, it also makes other uncomfortable because this person is gone, that doesn't change. So I really don't think anyone should rp as jonghyun anymore and the admins themselves shouldn't allow it.

I voted for C. Why roleplay as someone who.. isn't here anymore?
Even more so, the wounds are too fresh, and it would just be rubbing salt into them.

i agree with mom down there, but i overall think its inappropriate. roleplaying as someone who has passed away is a little disrespectful for the dead. also, there are people who are sensitive to the topic. i think private rping, as long as you both are okay with it, is one thing-- but honestly thinking about it, they're gone. it's... i dont know how to put it. the same thing came up with Rise from Ladies' Code. i personally would be uncomfortable seeing it in an rp, but privately, like i said, that's a whole other thing.

Personally, love, I think it's way way too soon. It might be a little triggering for people to see his face any place now. A private rp would be one thing but...
