in an alternate reality, the world ended on december 21, 2012.
a simple concept, yet the thought is too much for some of us to bear. when the news came out — the dead have been coming to life and attacking the living — everyone thought it was a farce. impossible, they said. zombies don't exist in reality.
but in this reality, they did. zombies existed, and they were relentless, unforgiving on the growing population of our planet. nearly half the human race was exterminated within six months of the outbreak, and the zombies multiplied. but as humans do, we learned. we adapted, and we survived. we built shelters and civilizations blocking out the undead, and we kept them far, far away, from any large groups of humans.
it took ten years for us to realize that this was the worst mistake we'd ever made.
you see, unlike the movies, a zombie bite doesn't infect you in twelve seconds. the virus takes an entire decade to strengthen your body and weaken your mind. it plants itself within your body, turning you into an uncontrollable, aggressive monster. in ten years, you die, and you come back to life as something completely inhumane. in ten years, those infected during the first outbreak rose and tore apart the remnants of the human race.
the year is 2027. civilization has fallen apart, and the few that are alive keep to themselves to avoid a repeat of the chaos that occurred five years ago.
you find yourself amongst a group of paranoid survivors, all packed into a rather tiny motel blocked off from both the intruders and the infected. will you trust in these strangers, keep an eye out for those that may be infected, or hide your own infection from prying eyes?
