the title says it all. this isn't up for debate. this isn't a question. and let me make it very crystal clear, this blog is dedicated to anyone who isn't black.

if you are a non-black person of color or a white person and all you've done is post a hashtag, you haven't done enough. if you haven't posted on your social media at all for fear of backlash or messing up your feed, then you should be ashamed of yourself. if you can't even be bothered to confront your family and friends about anti-black/racist language, you're trash.

black people are dying in the streets at alarming rates. if you do nothing, you are complicit. in my eyes, complacency is worse than the police out here murdering people.
my brother had a gun pointed at him at a protest last night by a random white guard. he could have been killed. so if you're upset by reading this, then save your tears for someone who gives a . i can guarantee you i'm not the one. i am in full support of the protests. black people have been peaceful for too damn long.

so here is what you can AND SHOULD do.

this is a link to bail funds based on city. DONATE. $5, $20, $100. anything helps. i know you have it, so give it. if you're from a middle or upper-clas family, you better give. take it out of your boba tea fund, don't buy your fave's newest album. WHATEVER YOU NEED TO DO.

here are links that can explain how to be an ally. i hate the word but it's the best way to explain what you need to do. ( 1 2 3 ) i can not stress this enough. PLEASE show up to protests, especially if you are white. do not take up too much space. do not drown out black voices. BUT use your privilege to protect black people. literally, use your body as a shield. it sounds terrifying and it is, but i can guarantee that the police will be less likely to beat you up than they will a black person. if you are a non-black poc, show up. be ready to give support. be ready to film any cases of brutality.

do not share any pictures of videos with protesters' faces. the police can and will use that footage to hunt down protesters and kill them. don't believe me? here is a link about how many major ferguson protesters have 'mysteriously died'.

if you can't do at least one of these things, then you should be ashamed. period.
how many of you use black slang on a daily? how many of you listen to rap? how many of you listen to non-black artists that are CONSTANTLY appropriating black culture? how many of you consistently rip off black culture?

it's so convenient to do so. to take and take and take from black people. and yet now, more than ever, black people need your help. and this is NOT temporary. this must be continuous. i'm talking monthly donations to organizations. i'm talking never letting your family and friends get away with saying anti-black . putting yourself into uncomfortable situations to prevent racism. speak up now and forever.

if you don't show up for us, then quite frankly you can a . and if i see you on the street and i recognize you, i might throw hands.

edit: here is another amazing resource. it has even been translated into italian, spanish, and german. there is also a link to blm canada on it.

you should also know saying all lives matter is stupid as hell. furthermore *insert race here* lives matter is also not valid right now. stop trying to co-opt this movement. this is not the time to try and force other issues to the forefront. for crying out loud, can black people have something for once?

Please do.

And please stay safe for when you protest. The most I can do right now is donate and post on social media (there are a few protests that have happened in my city and one will be at city hall tomorrow)

I've seen some crazy on social media regarding the protests. Even the peaceful ones, police are throwing flash bombs? Like what the .

this. it's mind-boggling how other social platforms are vocal about BLM and the protests yet nearly nothing on rpr. too many people here are more concerned about their muses and petty ooc fights than systematic racism and police brutality. disappointed but not surprised. i get rping is escapism but there's a point where we all need to get our head out of our asses (and privilege) and be vocal about injustices

as a fil-am, confronting the anti-blackness within my community is uncomfortable but it's nothing in comparison to the racism and suffering that black people continue to face by white supremacy (and the complicity of model minorities like myself. thank you for posting all these resources. i'll continue to donate and support the protesters. i'm sorry to hear about your brother. the police are scum and same with anyone who supports them.

this !!! i love it.

on a different note.

it's a little alarming how quiet this site has been on this matter. and i don't mean in just blogs but just in rps in general. people don't talk about it (except for one rp i'm in which is great bc i brings awareness to those who really don't know or understand what's going on.) but considering this site is usually very loud about topics that are,,,startling, it's been very quiet in regards to this.
and maybe it's just me who feels that way. and i don't really expect people to openly talk about the issue but it does make me go "huh. interesting."
