his eyes twinkle as he fixes his gaze on the gold-plated trophy in his hands. a roar of applause and cheers echo throughout the auditorium once again and linger for a brief moment before slowly diminishing into silence. the tense atmosphere that follows misses him, and the voice of the announcers falls to deaf ears. his lips stretch into a proud beam. he made it.

his joy, however, is only temporary. he hears a distant sinister chuckle coming from the back of his head. victory had merely been a fleeting moment in his life, snatched by the devil they call fame. the trophy serves as proof of their fateful transaction. he had exchanged glory for life ― and it's far too late to back out now.

the deal with the devil has been sealed.
