Odd Surprise at Family Present Exchange

Something similar happened to me. My cousin (16yo) is a pandemic kpop stan (he started listening to kpop during corona closedown). One day he came over and me and my sis showed our collection to him (my sis is the same age as him, and as for now, she only has got7 and ateez merch).

Now, I’ve been a kpop stan since 2010. I have some 10year old albums, including bap and block b. But i started showing him the most recent albums i got. When I was showing him my Blockbuster album, he asked me what songs they have (I played Nillili mambo and Nalina for him)

And I’m telling you, the face he made. He was shocked because “it’s the viral audio from tiktok” (normally I’d get upset about this lmao BUT he was really shocked to find out I have this physical copy of an album and a group that he only listened in short audios from tiktok, because he genuinely didn’t know it was from a kpop song/group)

He also asked me to see my bap warrior album. I told him about the group too. How its the first album from 2012, but they left the company, etc. he was also shocked that I got that album recently for like…10 bucks. He thought, giving the history of bap, how is their first album and the group basically doesn’t exist anymore as bap, the album would be really expensive and rare. I had to explain how kpop doesn’t work like that :(( people usually wanna get rid of old albums, and if the group wasn’t popular enough, they prefer to sell them super cheap because it’s really hard to find buyers. But it was a nice interaction, he was super interested in old groups and found the albums really interesting. It was cute seeing his reaction to them as a baby stan ;;;;
