Dearest readers,
I trust you are all well-rested from the arduous journeys you took to arrive back to Hanseong from your rural retreats. It is with great pleasure that this writer announces that the social season is finally upon us once more! I do hope you have stored a bottle of ratafia for this most delightful occasion, and that you have missed me as much as I have missed our esteemed members of the Ton and their cacophonous gossip.
This author has been reliably informed that a number of eligible bachelors and debutantes have come to the capital with intentions to dominate the social season. You may catch glimpses of them strolling around Hahoe Square or running to the marketplace to prepare for the hatching of matching season. Rest assured that I will have my pen ready to report on any and all of their scandalous activities.
However, gentle reader, before you set the comments alight with requests for more sordid details, know that I am disinclined to report on the particulars at this time. Patience, after all, is a virtue.
