i've been thinking about this lately just because but--
when it comes to deciding a character to play do you:

a) find a roleplay and then create a character for it
b) create a character and then find a roleplay to use them in
c) both a & b
d) a different answer

realized lately that i'm mostly b with a little bit of a lol
it's either i make the character and find a place to use them,
or i make the character and then make the roleplay myself to use them.
and sometimes i find the roleplay first, but i already have a vibe for
what kind of character i want and it just happens to fit usually ??
lmao so i just wondered how others approach this

A for auoc and b for non au or semi au. but i hardly join non au so… A. BDFJJCHDHHS. i love being inspired by an rp. most of my muses that i bring to rps are either old muses (they r my babies) that fit the concept or created specifically for that rp — which ends up being the birth of another muse for my long list.

A for aurps, B for non-au / semi-au
I usually try to get the vibe or plot of the aurp first, create background and see which is the best face claim for that background I’ve created. Meanwhile, non-au is more of having fun and chill, so I would just dip into my database of characters and see which character personality would probably mesh well with the people

d) my friends beg me to join a roleplay as a faceclaim im unfamiliar with and i overanalyze their natal chart until i can passingly seem as if im familiar with the faceclaim

alexa play "A" by got7
but yeah just sharing the same sentiment where I find inspiration to create a character after- based on the theme and surroundings of the existing rp and what the lore of it has to offer is just a great source of inspo for my initial character creation!

both a & b, but mostly a. same as syn!! once i make a muse though, i kinda spread em around to other rps just so i can still use them if i never got to do much with them before.

it's mostly a for me! i get invested in creating a character suitable for the rp then when the character can't be used anymore... it's hard for me to "convert" it fitting for another type of rp

which is why i have a lot just sitting in my bank

(a) mostly bb. if I love a lore then I can create a character to fit. and you know my fcs are limited so ggjkn...also sometimes it's (b) if i want to try out a new fc, I create a hc and how I'd like to portray them. then find an au.

I change a lot of muse and characters I like to play
So I usually find a rp and then create the character depending on the vibes and theme and what I feel like playing at the moment.

There are times when I don’t get to play a character to their full potential or at all so I will try to re-use it for a new one
