Apartment #20 reservations will be first-come, first-served.
Apartment #20 is a closed, private AU roleplay revolving around a close-knitted group of friends in their mid-twenties, living in Seoul, South Korea while they navigate through career-choices, love, friendship, and self-discovery.
It is reminiscent of the tv show F.R.I.E.N.D.S. starring Courtney Cox (Monica Geller), Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani), Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Greene), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), and David Schwimmer (Ross Geller).
READ! Important Information About Apartment #20.
→ These are some of the rules set in place for Apartment #20, courteously provided for your benefit. Review them thoughtfully and thoroughly to ensure that this closed and private roleplay will be compatible and a good suit for you as a writer.
1. Inactivity will be set to 30 days; however, you are expected to post at least a few posts once a week. This is a hard rule, and the consequence of abusing and violating this rule will result in you being kicked from the roleplay. Breaks/Hiatuses will be permitted when discussed with me (realllllmino).
2. When it comes to thread replies and writing lengths, in group settings, you are only allowed to reply in 3rd POV and with the maximum length of approximately 300 words. Do not exceed this length as I do not want anyone to feel pressured to mirror. (Please note that one-liners will be allowed for group interactions. That being said, all replies must be in complete sentences and must be in 3rd POV.) I do not like hindering people from writing as much as they like, but I have chosen to incorporate this as a rule for the betterment of the roleplay and for everyone's storyline progression. This will be the extent of my manhandling the length/style of your replies.
3. The discussion of end-games is discouraged; however, I understand that at a certain point, the topic will come up between couples. I highly encourage everyone to keep playing their metaphorical cards. Even in F.R.I.E.N.D.S., the characters did not endgame with those who they dated and married. (see: Ross and Carol, Ross and Emily, Monica and Richard, etc.) This roleplay relies heavily on slice-of-life moments; therefore, it may not follow a traditional storyline (setting, rising action, , falling action, resolution) and may include multiple storylines/plots.
4. Please do think about your character thoroughly before submitting your form. Character changing will be strictly limited once you have been accepted into the roleplay. Name changes will not be allowed nor background changes, if it drastically effects the dynamic of the friend group.
5. Plots and/or Scenario Starters will be given to your character randomly to spice up ongoing plots. If you're into sudden slice-of-life happenings, this roleplay might be for you! More information on this aspect will be available once the roleplay opens.
As stated above, Apartment #20 reservations will be first-come, first-served. That being said, in order to fully reserve a character, you must thoroughly fulfill two requirements.
→ The first requirement is to comment your desired faceclaim and your character archetype selection from the list at the end of this blog.
- new character archetypes will not be added nor will the existing ones be revised upon request.
- you will build your character around your chosen archetype in mind; however, their archetype does not need to be their main persona.
- only faceclaims of Korean descent will be accepted for now. celebrities who are deceased, deemed problematic, or have asked not to be roleplayed will not be permitted.
→ The second and final requirement is to fill out and submit this form for review. https://forms.gle/caUNXHpRtieFQS8TA
- filling out and submitting your form will not guarantee an acceptance into the roleplay if another mun with the same archetype has submitted their form before you. Hence, first come, first served.
- if the case above has occurred, you are free to re-submit your form, reserving a different archetype for your character---so long as that archetype is still available and up for grabs.
→ Character Archetypes List
Understand that these archetypes do not have a specific gender associated with them. The character references are only mentioned to help give you an idea of what we're looking for.
1. The One with the Aspiring Star. CLAIMED, realllllmino.
— Like Joey Tribbiani, this character is diving into fame but with their dreams being their driving force.
2. The One with the Caregiver. CLAIMED, woooja
— Like Monica Geller, this character is the parent-like figure of the group. They might be "uptight", but they're the glue that keeps the group together, for better or for worse.
3. The One with the Geek. CLAIMED, naevis
— Like Ross Geller, this character wasn't exactly the popular kid in school, but they followed their passions in life and are very successful.
4. The One with the Jester. CLAIMED, euphrosyne
— Like Chandler Bing, this character brings humor into the group. Maybe they're naturally funny—or they use humor as a coping mechanism. Either way, they always know what to say to lighten the mood.
5. The One with the Old Money. CLAIMED, muryukusho
— Like Rachel Greene, this character comes from a background of wealth. They might've been the popular kid in school (and a little spoiled), but they left the security of their family for a life of their own.
6. The One with the Creator. CLAIMED, DNAbleached
— Like Phoebe Buffay, this character is the artist of the group. They're crafty and artsy, regardless of what others might think. Whether they're well-known for their art or an unknown artist, it's completely up to the mun.
7. The One with the Innocent. CLAIMED, lucifers_indul.
— Like Rachel Green, this character is deemed innocent and unknowing of the terrors of the world. They tend to be very gullible about real life things.
8. The One with the Explorer. CLAIMED, barista
— Like Phoebe Buffay, this character is quite eccentric. They've experience a variety of lifestyles and have learned something from each. They bring a burst of color to the friend group and some interesting perspectives.
9. The One with the "Free-For-All". CLAIMED, muzieless
— This is a free character archetype slot. To reserve this one, elaborate on the character archetype for your character in the respective form. This character archetype MUST be different from the ones already listed, in one way or form.
10. The One with the "Free-For-All". CLAIMED, fallen_st.
— This is a free character archetype slot. To reserve this one, elaborate on the character archetype for your character in the respective form. This character archetype MUST be different from the ones already listed, in one way or form.
If possible, I would love love LOVE for 2 of these characters to be siblings (see: Monica Geller and Ross Geller).
Feel free to discuss with other muns if this is something you would like to claim. Simply state in your reservation comment that you're opened to the idea to start the discussion!
*** The minimum of characters I would like for this roleplay is 6, but I will be taking up to 10 character reservations.
Once those 10 slots have been filled, reservations will close. If there are 6 or less slots that have been claimed, reservations will end once the roleplay opens.
Questions are encouraged!
