To re-cap, when people are asked the question "Do you want to become an 'Artificial Doll' ", people respond with either a "yes" or "no". For people who say "no", they stay as Humans. These Humans are then eligable to become "Mediums". As said in the title, "Mediums" are humans that become the power source of a doll. This happens when a "Doll" decides that a particular Human is worthy of being the "Power Source" that activates his or her "Alice Magika". When that happens, the "Doll" will take the "Potential Medium" to their "N-Field". There, they will start the "Contract". When the "Contract" is finished, the same "Artificial Rose" mark will appear on their chest, right above their heart. It will be the sign that they are bound together in contract. "Original Doll" do not need "Mediums" to activate their "Artificial Roses".
There is no "next stage", you will stay a Medium or, if something happens, become a regular Human again.
