'A Capitol Christmas'

(This is just a little light-hearted fun ~ I love you all! :D)

Mir adjusted the long, white beard across his chin, the string keeping it in place digging into the backs of his ears. He could feel the heat of his breath trapped in the tangles of the wild, white fur covering his mouth. The black belt that was holding up the fat, red sack of a belly around his stomach area was continuously slipping down and so he had to keep a hold of it with is hand as he burst through the bland, grey door into the Capitol Christmas party.

“Ho ho ho!” he shouted cheerily, his merry voice muffled by the beard over his mouth. He flung his arms wide in his almost entirely red outfit, which ultimately resulted in his belt sliding down and his exaggeratively fat belly deflating into more of a large, generous pancake shape.

The room's ceiling was strung with silver, metallic bunting which disturbingly resembled the sharp, blades of knives. The watery reflections on them of the other red decorations around the room made it look like they were dripping with blood. Mir shivered at the image, trying to shake it away from his mind. He wasn't prepared to be shaken into one of his episodes; he'd made sure to take his pills this morning, he was fine. He looked around the rest of the room. The silver branches of the Christmas tree winded and twisted round into a pyramid shape, the tip of it piercing the ceiling. Underneath it was a river of ribbon wrapped empty boxes that were made to look like generous presents. A long, table draped with a white tablecloth lined the whole length of one side of the room. It was flooding with plates and platters full of a variety of festive finger foods. Mir couldn't help but laugh when he noticed Chanyeol and Minhwan purposefully lingering in a 'GameMaster' group close to the table, occasionally slipping a hand out and popping a mini mince pie into their mouths. Mir's other colleagues and Capitol friends filled the room. Kan sat across from Capitol Luhan on the bright red sofas to one side of the room, evidently involved in a heated debate about one thing or the other. Jinri was adjusting some of the decorations on the tree, stepping back occasionally to see if she approved of the artistic placement. When Mir's eyes fell on Nicole, he couldn't help but smile. She seemed to teaching Ailee the art of inconspicuously stabbing a target with a butter knife without being suspected.

Before he could amerce himself into the group, though, Mir felt a sudden cold air hit his scape, chilling his head. He whipped his head around to be met with Minho standing beside him.

“Heh,” Minho chuckled. “Just what I needed.” Mir watched his best friend slide the limp, red hat – that had originally been seated on Mir's head – onto his own head, completing the belly-less Santa Claus outfit that he was wearing.

“Hey!” Mir started to protest, grabbing for the hat on Minho's head. He couldn't help but laugh though, glad to see his friend even though he felt like slapping him.

Minho silenced him, though, by catching his arm in one quick sweep and casually saying, “Don't you think I make a worthier Santa?” He chuckled again, letting go of Mir's arm and strolled away, the white, fluffy pompom attached to the end of the hat bouncing against the back of his black hair covered head.

Mir huffed, trying to stop himself from laughing at his friend's antics, and crossed his arms in a jokingly annoyed manner.

“I think you need a new costume,” Mir heard Jucy state to the right side of him, clinging close to his elbow like she was whispering something confidential into his ear.

He stared at her in a mock shocked manner, loudly asking, “What?!” He flung his arm out exaggeratedly in Minho's direction. “I am totally the better Santa. He doesn't even have a belly!” As if to emphasise his point, Mir grabbed and jiggled his poor attempt of a fat belly.

Jucy shrugged in her cute, green, elf outfit. Mir couldn't help but noticed that she was standing in bare feet instead of wearing the high heels that she hated so much.

“But,” Mir added with a casual wink and a hint of his tongue sticking out. “I'll come to you if I decide for a wardrobe change.”

She nodded, seemingly enjoying being involved in this childish act.

Mir grinned as he strolled away, his attention suddenly taken by the food table. As he slid past Nicole and Ailee, their combat practice still in play, Mir was about to run his hand along Nicole's waist as a welcome as he past when he felt a sudden jab of pain in his abdomen. Curling over, Mir moaned, cupping his hands over the area on his stomach where he had been hit.

“Good aim,” Mir groaned, thankful that he felt no blood slipping through his fingers from the wound. Even if there was, he knew it would be barely visible on the bright red fabric of his Santa costume. He was grateful for the flabby, flat, fake belly that had softened the blow.

“Eek,” Ailee shrieked. “Sorry, sorry!”

“Thank goodness we were practising with the handle of the knife this time,” Nicole pointed out, her hand resting on Mir's shoulder as she glanced him over quickly in concern before soon getting over her worry when she saw the strained smile on Mir's face.

“You carry on with your practice, girls,” Mir patted Ailee on the shoulder as he shuffled away, very slowly stretching back into a standing position. His feet had drawn him towards Minhwan and Chanyeol who both turned their heads towards them in unison as he approached.

“Best present yet,” Mir muttered as he leaned back against the buffet table, his fingers falling onto a mini custard tart which he proceeded to pick up and plop into his mouth.

Before the two Gamemakers could respond to his arrival, Jinri called across to them, “Hey boys! Which one do you think is best? Green or Gold?” She held up two baubles between her fingers and raised them up next to her cheeks.

“What? I don't get it...” Minhwan stated, confusion spreading on his face.

Chanyeol glanced at Minhwan in a 'I don't believe' it manner before turning back towards Jinri, “Definitely green.”

Jinri looked pleased with his answer and nodded, turning towards the Christmas tree, when Mir yelled, “I say wear both! They bring out your eyes.”

“What?!” Jinri blurted out at him. “I meant on the tree, you idiot! Not on me!”

Mir chuckled, grinning, before pushing himself away from the buffet table. His eyes picked up on Kan and Capitol Luhan's conversation as he passed by them.

“I just feel sorry for the unknown tributes. They never get any recognition,” Kan sighed. “I just need someone to fangirl with about them, you know?”

Luhan blinked in response before nodding in agreement.

Mir smirked as he passed, about to add something to the conversation when he walked full force into a body, milkshake dribbling down the front of his costume.

“First the attendant and now me! Is there no end to your milkshake throwing?” Mir found himself laughing as he watched Jucy's pink, strawberry milkshake run down the front of his costume like slime.

Jucy opened to apologise but Mir silenced her by quickly adding, “I'm thinking that I really am in need of a costume change now.”

Jucy's eyes brightened and glowed as she smiled at the prospect of choosing what ridiculous costume Mir was going to wear.

“I'm not wearing this,” Mir protested.

“Yes,” Jucy replied through the thick material of the maroon, changing room curtain that separated herself and Mir. “You are.”

He was about to protest again but found himself sighing instead and he slowly opened the curtain. Jucy's giggle erupted from her lips as she was met with the image in front of her. She quickly had to stifle her laughs by covering her hands over .

Mir's shoulders sagged as he finally accepted his fate.

The rest of the Capitol party stared at him as he was pushed into the room by Jucy. Their eyes travelled up his bare, hairy legs to the black shirt which was puffed out by a intricate, white petticoat. The rest of his torso was clad in a black and white maid's outfit, complete with a frilly, white apron and a matching head piece that sat atop his dyed hair.

“Merry Christmas everybody,” Mir sighed weakly, sagging on the spot.

Everyone else cheered, “And a happy new year!”
