I still have the choice to have surgery on my jaw to fix an overbite and give braces. It is possible for my overbite to get much worse till I'm 21 since that is when girls stop growing. This is because the dentist said that my jaw may have delayed while I was growing. I believe this is because I was a premature baby, being almost 3 months premature.
Yet, I am not sure if I should consider this as an option as I have never had surgery before and I am terrified of having an operation. I have been told that I wouldn't even be considered for the operation if my teeth aren't cleaner and can stay cleaner.
What they would have to do is break my jaw and bring it forward then give me braces.
Would it be uncomfortable?
Would the click in my jaw go away?
Would it make it easier for me to eat?
Would this be for the benefit of my health or for cosmetic reasons?
I am still not very sure on what to do.
