Lemon and Eucalyptus oils... spiders have sensors for smell or taste or some on their legs and don't like to touch anything really strong lIke that. Mix a few drops into like a half a cup of water (make it a little stronger than package recommendations) and spray it on doors, windows, whatever, where they come in. Or lemon pledge/lysol.
Works on black widows at least?

Well, a cup or some sort of container. Trap it, and get it outside.
I don't recommend killing it.
Cuz I like spiders and...

Are you sure it was a recluse? It could have been a wolf, which look like them but are harmless...just super f-ing creepy >.<
