this city is a diverse, urban metropolis. In the day, downtown is jam-packed with business, food, and culture. There are street performers, businessmen, college students, and tourists bustling through the downtown daylight to earn a buck and have a nice, quiet lunch. In the night, the lights turn on and everybody sheds their daytime skin and put on their party clothes. It's a time where the sports bars are full of sports enthusiasts, the clubs are filled with drunk and high dancers, the streets are littered with loud and obnoxious adults who haven't quite let go of their youth yet. These nights are when the bartenders, taxi drivers, and cops make the most out of their jobs.
Although this is a rated roleplay and I would love to see everybody get some action, I think it would be great to have a variety of personalities, backgrounds, and characters. I don't want anybody to get uncomfortable with internationals and idol faceclaims, which is why this roleplay is set in a diverse metropolis setting. Diversity is normal and it's perfectly okay to be different from each other. The fun is in getting to know each other and learning more about something outside of your bubble.

This is a straight-only roleplay. I find that most rated roleplays consist of gay men and a handful of straight women. Please honor this rule. This website has enough places for as it is and yuri has been up and coming as of late. It's hard to find a place for straight people.
pregnancy is allowed. however, this would be a long-term commitment, so please keep this in mind. Pregnancy symptoms are allowed two weeks after unprotected and follow the 40-week pregnancy term. abortions, miscarriages, and preterm, as well as posterm, pregnancies are allowed. Children will not get their own characters, please interact with them as an npc.
characters must be 18 years or older IC and OOC. Internationals are allowed and encouraged. If you have any trouble coming up with backgrounds for your character, here are a few details about the city: there is a college campus that has students, professors, and faculty; being a tourist is completely fine, being a long term tourist is completely fine, there are many businesses that are located downtown with many different departments, including local political positions, the night needs people to have it function like bartenders, waitresses, taxi drivers, hookers, drug dealers, which can all be side jobs to their day jobs, and many other occupations and backgrounds await this place.
drama is very underrated on roleplayrepublic as of late, so feel free to stir the drama and plot to your heart's content. Please be adults about it and do not take it to heart. If you get hurt ooc, you are allowed to feel and express your hurt, however, do not bring others down with you. Also, a reminder that the sky is the limit. If you die, simply notify an admin for a back-up character, or continue as a ghost if you must. I never said supernatural beings weren't allowed (winkwink). however, if you do happen to have a supernatural being, keep it on the downlow as if you were hiding it from us admins and the world that you were a supernatural being because what fun would it be if we knew just from reading your profile. Make us work for it. That being said, organized crime is perfectly fine as well.

There is no limit to the amount of characters you may have. However, you must still earn them. Your first character is unlocked after a favorite. Your second character is unlocked after upvoting. If your first character is male, you are free to a second character without upvoting. Your third character is unlocked after inviting someone to the roleplay. Your fourth character is unlocked after a week of being in this roleplay, your fifth character is unlocked a week after that and so on.
Please stay in character at all times. You are allowed to be OOC only in brackets ([], (), {}, etc.), ooc rooms, and information rooms.
