@nicholas.b The day off. It was Kristine's day off from work and had never felt more excited and more elated in her life to be able to do whatever she wanted. This month was just a mess. Art events and exhibits were back to back and she was the curator of all of them. Imagine a cat chasing after a mouse; Kristine was chasing after the day she wouldn't have to come to work and today was that day. With her camera in tow and a few other things like: a beach towel, sunscreen, a beach hat and a beach umbrella, she was on her way to spend half her day at the near-by beach. It wasn't a long distance and instead of driving or taking a cab, she decided to walk there by foot. It didn't take too long and it wasn't a difficult trek either. Kristine took a minute or two to pick an area where it was open and clear, and luckily, she found a place that had fit her criteria. Setting up everything among the sand, she looked out towards the water and a wide, bright grin graced her features. "Such a beautiful day, can't believe it." she muttered to herself as she slowly tiptoed towards the shore and had let the roll of small waves hit her toes gently. It was cold, but refreshing to say the least. "Hey." There was an unfamiliar boom of a voice, and Kristine whipped her head around to look where it had come from. It was a male standing there and she had no idea who it was. Deciding it would be rude not to answer, she gave a friendly smile and lifted up her right hand to give a small wave. "Hey, there." her words came out in a gentle, quiet manner. Kristine stepped away from the shoreline and rubbed her hands together before looking out towards the sunset and back towards the male. "Enjoying the view as well?"

@kristine.f nick had recently gotten a divorce from his ex-wife of two years, his lover of seven, and if he were completely honest with the world, he had never felt so lonely. to fill in the free time he had now that there was nobody to attend to daily, he'd go on little dates by himself. nick had always been a bit of a romantic guy. he loved sunsets and chocolates. nicholas sparks movies were his guilty pleasure and spending his time being romantic with himself made him feel just a little bit less lonely even if every second of it he would scream to himself on the inside just how empty it was to be enjoying this sunset alone. it was a good thing that he could drown out those screams with his little buddy, alcohol. nick sipped on his beer, sitting on the soft sand of the beach as he watched the sunset through his sunglasses. he felt the cool sea breeze through his hair when something caught his eye. it was the flowing of long, blonde hair that danced in the wind. his gaze stuck on her for a moment before he took another sip of his beer. she was alone, just as he was. he was two beers in and thought it wouldn't hurt to just say hi, so he got up from the sand, abandoning his beer in the sand and approached the woman. "hey," he casually addressed her as they both admired the sunset, giving her space in the chances she wouldn't reciprocate his incredibly casual greeting.
