It has been twenty-two years since the Second Wizarding War.
At this time, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named had taken his stand against good, to bring evil to power. Beside him, an army called the Death Eaters that did his bidding, threatening to extinguish all things good and innocent, to bring darkness and chaos over our world. Their goal? To cleanse the world of half-bloods, muggles, and muggle-born to create a superior race of pureblood wizards.
Not one magical creature, nor wizard or muggle, was safe from The Dark Lord’s wrath. Innocent lives were lost, and the warriors that gave their lives in battle were mourned.
Within that darkness rose a young and exceptional wizard who went by the name of Harry Potter. Named “The Chosen One,” he was the only one who could defeat Tom Riddle as the last of the seven horcruxes. He, along with many wizards and witches, young and old, fought valiantly to put an end to his thirty-decade terror once and for all. And for the first time, the world no longer cowered from his evil. Balance was brought to the world once more.
But amongst that victory was destruction. Light shone upon the remnants of the chaos that remained, and the magical creatures were left to pick up the pieces. But reconstruction was not quite enough. In fear that evil will rise again, the Ministry of Magic has since taken precautions to protect all wizards and magical creatures alike.
Hogwarts, on the other hand, had been transformed. The once-cursed and damaged school has since been refurbished and expanded to accommodate for the new required curriculum. The school, which trained and protected young, teenage wizards, has decided to lengthen their studies to further develop and better train young, inspired minds. So that they would be more prepared for what’s to come.

in contrast to the first and original version of Magicians, this roleplay will not be events based. this will be much more relaxed to accomodate our members' busy schedules. we will have some events every now and then, however, depending on what our members want.
Rated plots must be consensual and done in private rooms or rated areas. All rated/triggering threads must have an [M] or [TW] in the beginning of each post. threads are only allowed in private spaces, such as walls, pms, or private rooms.
pregnancy and deaths are not allowed. move-in couples must be considerate and try to write with more than just their bubbble partner. do not bubble rp.
Out of character drama, harassing other users, bashing, shading is strictly prohibited. Bubble roleplaying, breaking the fourth wall is also prohibited.
rather than requiring a certain amount of points to show activity, magicians will be tracking literary activity. we will be tracking your threads, and to do so, we require all characters to have a linked tracker for all of their threads. more info here.
We deeply encourage literacy and members who put effort into their replies. People who do not have at least one ongoing thread (not including social media posts) will be considered inactive and at risk of being a character hogger.
Inactivity appears 18 days (about 2.5 weeks) after your last post. You will receive two warnings before getting kicked out. the third inactive will result in an immediate boot. You are allowed to come back, however once you become inactive again, you will only get one warning before getting kicked out.
Full hiatus lasts max 4 weeks (1 month) and semi hiatus (semi active, checking in every now and then) lasts 6 weeks (about 1.5 months). it is the participant's responsibility to check in and update the admins if they require an extension.
In case you have to leave, you must pm the bot (Minerva Mcgonagall) instead of commenting.
All celebrities of all nationalities and orientations are allowed, with the exception of deceased, problematic faceclaims, inactive ulzzangs, cosplayers, as well as those who have asked to not be roleplayed.
You are permitted to apply a five (5) year difference from your faceclaim’s real age, so long as they are 18+ both ooc and ic. to ensure the best roleplay and content opportunities for you as a roleplayer, we will only be accepting characters up to sixth (6th) year. this will give us room to transition into the next year. you don't want to write off your character early, do you?
All characters are regular, young wizards. Roleplayers may not apply as professors, animagi, and obscurials. metamorphagi and hybrids are limited. more info here.
Roleplayers may have a maximum of three characters, given that their existing characters are active. To apply for a second faceclaim, you must post an advertisement blog and have at least two ongoing threads. to apply for a third face claim, you need to post another advertisement blog and have at least three ongoing threads on each character (six total).
To support the creativity of our members, each character will be expected to have an original name. prospective members will comment for the desired faceclaim with their real name (ex: jennie kim) and the original ic name (ex: Emerald De Lisle). check the faq room regarding names that are canon to the books.
Each faceclaim is limited to an occupancy of one. The only exceptions are identical twins, which are very limited with admin consent and must be plotted with another person. We are currently accepting only two sets of twins (current count: 1/2). Please refer to the fc masterlist to check if your faceclaim is free to take.
