@－ ❛ ʜ ❜：henri knight。⁰⁵ [ note ; this is an older thread, mal and henri barely know each other in this – it happened during mal’s second year and henri’s fourth! they are not yet dating. ]

it was futile to try and figure out exactly what henri was thinking. mal did not know him well yet and his observation fell short when it came to the actual thoughts the older had. mal spent this past year observing henri on the quidditch field, sometimes a little lost in thoughts and a little too whipped by henri’s dreamy nature. he was curious, he wanted to ask him what was going on inside his mind – but mal knew fair well that if henri asked the same, he would not know how to answer. he let his mind wander, but his heartbeat was caught in their intertwined fingers. he would have slid down the wall again just to feel the euphoria all over his body. and he secretly hoped henri would push him against it again. “very philosophical of you. I suppose you do notice some things. you are quite a good player,” his lips curled into a smile again, he wanted to tease, but he ended up speaking the truth. “your brain is not bad weird. I like that weirdness.”

were he not weird, he would probably not allow himself to be dragged somewhere potentially dangerous. mal enjoyed how easy it was to talk to him – perhaps the weirdness was what made him feel more comfortable. and definitely his voice – slipping through the cracks of a painting like water. mal wanted to close his eyes and reimagine how beautiful his lips felt against his, he wanted to get lost in that image. he struggled to stay afloat and actually focus on reality. he chuckled a bit, showing henri he was still participating at their conversation. “yes, I am the law. do not make me arrest you,” he teased, then let go of henri’s hand to allow him to move around. “that really depends how hungry you are, lennart. I happen to know you have quite the appetite,” mal shrugged, his smile growing bigger when he saw the kitten curl up for a nap. “she is definitely much safer here. and you have about two minutes to come back. I want to see the sunset.”

@－ ❛ s ❜：emrys seong。⁰⁵ "Will do," she whispered, lifting careful fingers to touch the area his knuckles grazed against, a small, foolish smile stretching upon her lips. Her gaze lingered on him for a moment then, with a sigh, she spun upon her Mary Jane's and made her way back to her classroom, where the eight o'clock class began pouring out of, disrupting the blissful silence she had with Emrys in their little bubble with a cacophony of chatter.

@－ ❛ ʀ ❜：caterina sun。⁰² "Don't look so sad", Emrys instructed, his nose still wrinkled from her little poke, reaching out yet again to nudge his knuckles against her cheek tenderly. "You'll see me at lunch before you even know it, kitten. Just don't think about it and then time will fly, alright?" He took a step back then, afraid he wouldn't manage to leave if he didn't, the smile on his face widening into a grin, starting to walk backwards. "See you later, Cat! Have fun in class."

But responsibilities were responsibilities, and they would be able to see one another again after a few classes. So she smiled and lifted her hand to poke his nose, returning the favor. "See you at lunch," she said, wiggling her fingers by the side of her face in silent goodbye.

@－ ❛ ʀ ❜：caterina sun。⁰² "I see that", Emrys gave back, sounding amused and light-hearted, letting go of her slowly after making sure she wouldn't lose her balance as soon as he let her go. "And hey, I don't judge. If you need a blanket, you need a blanket. But..." He pulled out his phone again, looking down at the screen with a little frown. "I think I have to go or I'll be late for class... See you at lunch?"

@－ ❛ s ❜：emrys seong。⁰⁵ "I kind of forgot about that for a second," Caterina confessed, the hue on her cheeks deepening when she realized her mistake. Her gaze flickered to the direction he was looking at, her eyes falling onto the blanket she had on her arm. "What? I wasn't joking!" She laughed, wrapping her arms around his waist in a tight embrace when he pulled her in. She laughed again when she felt him lifting her off the floor, her arms tightening around him. "Emrys!"

@－ ❛ ʀ ❜：caterina sun。⁰² "So walking in on me on my couch, half asleep and barely able to human didn't count as seeing me in the morning?", he teased with a snort, his brows shooting up when she opened her arms, his eyes flickering over to the blanket she was holding, the corners of his mouth twitching in amusement. She had mentioned the blanket, but a very small part of him had thought she was joking. "Hug", Emrys echoed then, shaking his head while clicking his tongue in reprimand - only jokingly - before he closed the distance between them, wrapping his arms around her to pull her in, leaning back just a bit as if to lift her off the floor.

@－ ❛ s ❜：emrys seong。⁰⁵ "Yes, I am," she assured, scrunching her nose immediately after he poked it. "I dunno. I've never seen you in the mornings before." She stepped forward once more, holding out her arms towards him. One of her arms had a blue blanket draped over it, her house's crest folded in half. "Honestly I only wanted you to come over so I could get a hug," she confessed, her cheeks pinking. "And you can't stay for long because you have to go all the way up to the fourth floor. So. Hug."

@－ ❛ ʀ ❜：caterina sun。⁰² "Hi!", Emrys all but beamed, helplessly mirroring the brightness of her smile, almost as if her energy was rubbing off on him. "Are you?", he teased then, reaching up to poke the tip of her nose, his smile only widening. "Is this how you're always going to smile at me? Or is that just a seeing me in the morning thing?"

@－ ❛ s ❜：emrys seong。⁰⁵ The moment Caterina's eyes landed on him and that smile that seemed to shine brighter than the sun, her entire spirit perked up. Her steps quickened until, finally, she stood in front of him, her otherwise tired features glowing with a kind of joy she rarely showed others. "I'm awake now," she murmured, biting back her wide grin as she took one step forward, their bodies just inches away. "Hi."

@－ ❛ ʀ ❜：caterina sun。⁰² "Even if you didn't stay up because of me, that won't change the fact that I feel bad", Emrys announced as soon as he had rounded the corner and spotted her, lowering his phone and ending the call, the smile on his features appearing almost instantly when his eyes landed on her. It seemed as if he tended to do that a lot. Smile as soon as he saw her. That was a little bit of a problem, perhaps, but he didn't really care about it. "And for someone who just yawned into my ear, you do look more than awake."

@－ ❛ ʀ ❜：maël clair。⁰³ Mael's hand was bigger than his own but yet it still fit so very nicely into his own hand. Henri smiled brightly at the other, excited to drag him along and show him the common room even if it was just to bring Cassiopeia home. He preferred to have the cat safe and sound before he went and wandered off, after all he had already had to catch the small cat already and she was yet too small to actually find her way around. Aside from that he had yet to find a proper break away collar as he was not looking forward to her hanging herself by accident so he would surely find something. Maybe even a nametag or something that would show she belonged to him. And maybe, if Mael wanted, he could adopt her. Just maybe. "I notice a lot and then again nothing at once." He shrugged slightly. "Brains work weird ways." He laughed softly.

Shaking his head amused he looked at the taller, tilting his head a bit. "Oh, so you are the law? I knew you'd like punishing," he teased the other and wiggled his eyebrows. Of course he could be wrong about that but who knew, maybe he was in fact right. He was teasing right now, just playing around as it was fun to just joke around with Mael, just being close to him. "Mh, sometimes I have to be reminded of the obvious. But you are right, you could probably still the hunger inside me," he hummed and looked at the mesmerizing beauty in front of him. It warmed his heart so much, it made his stomach flutter and it was not only because Mael was the most beautiful man he had ever seen before. It was more than just that. He then entered the common room, carefully letting Cassi down - she immediately ran to a free armchair, curling up. "I guess she needs a nap."
