The fruits of the palace overflow with prosperity and luxury, beloved by all. Vanity is the name of the game and the nobility will do whatever it takes to maintain their divine reign.
The Montagues; resourceful, ambitious, ruthless, a family with bloody glory written in their history. An empire built on warfare and desire, the Montagues carry out their tasks in the darkest of nights. They covet what is no longer theirs and it is the fragile peace between them and their enemies that keep Verona fair. But glass is fragile and the Montague's grasp at the hammer, ready to strike. All in the name of laying claim to their pilfered throne.

general

favourite the roleplay before reserving and applying. upvoting will be necessary when requesting additional characters but is not mandatory.

retribution is a mature themed roleplay that will deal with heavy content; because of this, we ask that writers under the age of 18 do not apply. we understand that this may cause some frustration however we are following roleplay republics guidelines regarding mature themed roleplays to keep both you and ourselves safe.

out of character drama will not be tolerated under any circumstances. you are to take your issues to your private messages or to a group private message with an admin should you feel you cannot come to a resolution on your own. any and all hostility from either party will be recorded by an admin and, if necessary, sent to the moderators of roleplay republic.
this roleplay will operate on a three strike system. you may be given more than one strike depending on the severity of your offence. failure to follow any given warnings, or if you reach your third strike, you will removed from the roleplay and banned for 7 days. this may be extended, reduced or changed to a permanent ban if warranted.

consent is key. if another roleplay is intentionally ignoring your boundaries, notify an admin immediately. be sure to include trigger warnings if your threads include sensitive content that may warrant it.

keep your out of character and in character emotions separate. remember: you are not your characters. if you feel that you are being negatively impacted by your roleplay, take a break. come back after a day or two, discuss civilly with your partner what needs to change(if needed) and move on.

inactivity is set to 30 days. admins will not be monitoring your activity because honestly, we don't care. be active, don't be. just come and go as your muse and inspiration takes you. we're not here to police you(outside of making sure you're all kind to one another)

while we are a multi-pov roleplay, we encourage users to be semi-literate to literate. be descriptive, do not give one liners(unless using a social media room or a fast-paced conversation).
character

we require participants to have a basic profile set up with 3 days upon joining the roleplay; this means having your trivial information and character quirks completed. completed profiles must be done within 2 weeks upon joining. we will accept dot points or shorthand sentences for longer content such as personality and character backgrounds.

no character limit, take on however many as you see fit and can realistically handle(or unrealistically in some coughsmecoughs cases).

we do not accept faceclaims that fit into the following categories: problematic, have been convicted of a crime or have had serious allegations brought against them, under the age of 20 internationally, deceased, ographic actors/actresses, cosplayers and/or have stated they do not want to be roleplayed.

bubble roleplaying, userchasing, facechasing, etc., are not allowed. for a welcome 15 points, tell us your favourite song.

marriage and pregnancy are permitted; mpreg is not.

to join retribution, please provide the following information. you can refer to the castlist in the admin information tab to see which faceclaims are taken.
faceclaim name you can refer to the rules to find out which faceclaims are banned from the roleplay. if your faceclaim has the same name as another celebrity(example: kim jisoo), please include in brackets which faceclaim you are using.
oc name while we don't want to stifle creativity, we encourage you to keep your faceclaims ethnicity and heritage in mind when creating their oc name. We are also allowing muns to choose whether or not they use an oc name.
