A world that rejected progression teeters on the brink of collapse, but there was hope for them yet — If only humanity was willing to embrace its boundless potential for evolution. Desperate and willing to sacrifice everything for this, one man harnessed what was left of his power to alter the fabric of reality itself.
But change of this magnitude would never come without consequence.
In order to set humanity on the right path, the universe he once knew, with all its beauty and imperfections, had to come to an end. Though this wouldn’t signify a conclusion, but rather the cataclysmic beginning of true progress — One where he could build a new reality where knowledge, ambition, and evolution could thrive without the constraints of history, politics, and past mistakes.
Except now, he was the only one left with the memories of the truth; The sole bearer of the old world’s forgotten history.
From its ashes, he built Halcyon Academy — an institution created to cultivate a new generation of thinkers, innovators, and visionaries. This school would become both a sanctuary and a crucible for the brightest minds of this reformed world. It was a place where magic and science would collide and students were encouraged to push the boundaries of human potential, unburdened by their past failures.
Each individual that was drawn to the academy by the calamity had their memories wiped clean and their destinies rewritten. In its place, they were taught to follow one core philosophy, driven by the Herald’s vision:

Favourite the roleplay to have your application accepted. Upvotes aren’t mandatory but very much appreciated!

Reservations will last 24 hours before the character is freed. You can always comment again to request another reservation, but the availability of that same character is not determined by us; If someone else requests for them in that time, they will be able to apply. That being said, if there is a character that has been inactive who is not marked away on hiatus, you may express your interest in them to us.

You are allowed up to three characters for now, though this number may change as the roleplay grows. Your first character is free, while the second comes free with a blog post promoting the roleplay. Your third character can be requested once your first and second characters have 250 activity points. You may ask for as many character changes as you want, just be sure to stay updated on them.

Inactivity is set to 7 days, but we will be lenient about it with people who communicate about this with us when they can. If you need a break without getting poked about activity, you may request a semi-hiatus for a few weeks, or a hiatus that can last up to a maximum of one month. Anything longer than that and we will talk to you regarding keeping your characters.

All conversations must be kept appropriate to the respective rooms. i.e. NSFW topics in the rated chat, OOC chatting in OOC chat, etc.

In-character drama is encouraged. Out-of-character drama will not be tolerated. Make sure you plot out IC drama with your writing partner and respect each other’s boundaries before you begin. Any conflicts that are unrelated to the roleplay must be resolved outside of the roleplay in your own time. Please keep personal drama separate from the roleplay and its members — However, if it’s a situation that directly involves another user and happened under circumstances in the roleplay, talk to a trusted admin about your concerns if you think it may affect more members or the roleplay itself.

Hate speech, racism, slurs, death threats, and etcetera towards other members of the roleplay will not be tolerated — Anyone that breaks this rule will receive one verbal warning before they are removed and blacklisted. No exceptions.

Second accounts are not allowed. You will be kicked and blacklisted if you are caught. You will only get one warning to choose which account to keep in the roleplay and 24 hours to act or else both accounts will be removed. If it is more characters that you want, please simply let us know and we will take it into consideration.

Putting down other members of the roleplay is absolutely frowned upon. This roleplay is meant to be a fun, creative community for both new and old users to pass the time with entertainment, so unprecedented hostility is not welcome here at all. You will only get one strike warning regarding this sort of behaviour and if it happens again, then you will be removed. There will be no negotiations regarding this rule.

Rules are subject to change, and we have the right to add more if necessary. Please follow them accordingly as they are to ensure everyone can have fun in a safe creative space.

You may slide your character’s age up or down to fit how you want to portray them here, but you cannot go below 18. Additionally, all characters must be canonically 18+ from their original medias; You may not age up a character who is younger than 18 years old in canon.

There is no required number of activity points per character upon acception, we just hope to see you around. All we ask is that you set up a profile and picture for each character — It does not necessarily have to be a fancy layout, just be sure to include your muse’s basic information to help other roleplayers understand them better.

There is a dating ban of 14 days and 500 activity points, hopefully by then you will have had plenty of time to interact. This is a semi-literate / literate / novella roleplay so we don’t want the focus to be purely based on romance and relationships.

If your character possesses any special abilities, they will be technically losing them in this universe. This roleplay is an AU, meaning that factors of their original world such as memories or powers were lost. But as this is a magic school, they are able to delve in magics that are inspired by their canon abilities. On top of this, you are allowed to give your muse one base ability that they already possess. A list of suggested ideas are provided here or you may come up with your own — The password is letting us know what that ability is, or write N/A if they will not have one.

Because this is an AU, your character’s new backstory is open to creative freedom if it needs to be rewritten. Though regardless of what you choose change, please try to keep the essence and relative characterisation of your muse the same — You do not get to recreate the character into an entirely new OC.
