The Sick Bay

Kyuhyun stared at Sungmin's actions before nodding. "Yeah. I'll be fine, this isn't the first time it's happened. Didn't you see my other scars? I mean I would show you them but I don't want you to stare at my abs instead." He said with a wink. He sat there and listened to Sungmin's explanation of him crying, it wasn't long after that Kyuhyun put his hand on top of Sungmin's. "I'll be fine, okay?" He reassured the older as he slowly moved the other's hand on to the bench. Knowing that Sungmin cared for him a bit made his heart warm a bit--wait, no. He must have heart burn or something.

Sungmin only cried harder at the response. He turns to Kyuhyun and places a hand onto the stained cloth around Kyuhyun's waist. "Are you sure you'll be okay?" He asks, his voice trembling as he constantly tries to catch his breath. "Crying is something that happens when I don't know how to express my feelings. I feel overwhelmed when there's three or more emotions mixed in within myself; it's disturbing yet pleasurable." Sungmin explains while caressing his hand softly over the cloth. Somehow, it hurts him too to see Kyuhyun like this--what?

Kyuhyun nodded and limped towards the door, leading the other towards a bus station. "It's only 4 bus rides away. You have bus fair, correct?" He asked looking at the other then at the trailing puppy. It took about five minutes to reach the bus stop, but Kyuhyun still in recovery winced a bit as he sat down pulling Sungmin down with him. "Look, I know you're happy but stop crying. It's not attractive." He said with a playful smirk, hoping to make the other stop.

Sungmin's eyes glinted up at the sentence. He quickly stood up and grabbed at Kyuhyun's hand in excitement. "Jinja!? You know where he is?!" Sungmin smiled, more tears rolling down his cheeks. His heart felt full once again; he could even feel the ice covering his heart slowly melting completely away. It was beating once again. Sungmin turned to Kakao and smiled wide, running back it and picked it up into his arms. "Kakao! We're gonna see Sungjin soon, are you excited?" Sungmin asked, receiving a happy bark from the puppy.

Kyuhyun sighed. "Well . Come on." He said weakly standing up. "I met him about three years back and he was adopted by a hood family I promise. I actually was adopted by them as well but I got in too much trouble so they sent me back, he's in good hands Sungmin. I know where they live, come on." He said as he staggered towards his leather coat. "This counts as your birthday present. I hope you know that."

Sungmin nods slowly and looked down, petting softly at Kakao's head. "I do. His name is Lee Sungjin" He replied. His lips curves into the slightest of a smile as his mind keeps on rolling the images of his younger brother whom he hadn't seen in years. "He was considered, to me, my only family member and I was considered his only. I feel guilty whenever I think of him-I shouldn't have ran away."

Kyuhyun slowly started to stop singing and stared at the other as he sang. Without knowing he gently cupped Sungmin's cheek and wiped away the other's tear. "Do you have a younger brother?" He asked carefully. Because Kyuhyun had learned that song from a younger boy, he didn't have the best voice but he was sweet.

His mouth gaped open a bit as he slowly observes Kyuhyun's deep yet relaxing and smooth voice. He knows that song; his mother used to sing it to him when he was a lot younger--and he himself used to sing it to his younger brother on his birthday. Sungmin smiles at the memory of his brother's smiling face whenever he hears the song. Unconsciously, he starts to sing along with Kyuhyun--the perfect harmony that goes exactly with the melody. Each images of memories slides through his head, making a single tear roll down the side of his face. He misses Sungjin...he really does.

Kyuhyun laughed at Sungmin's actions. "Fine sweetheart. Sweetheart is closer to Sungmin then princess." He said with a playful smirk. He gave the older a unamused look and laughed so loudly he whimpered in pain no so after. "You count sheep? I sing, or just do something until I fall asleep. See, watch." And with that he started to sing. It was a peaceful melody he learned in a foster home 3 years back. (Hope Is A Dream That Doesn't Sleep. :3) He hadn't realized he was actually singing in front of someone else, he usually doesn't sing unless one of the younger kids can't sleep.

Sungmin grunted and slapped at Kyuhyun's head. "Don't you dare wake my baby up, I'll kill you if you do." He said before sitting back down at the same place. "My name is Sungmin, it's not princess--and why don't you try counting sheep?" Sungmin tilted his head and looked at Kyuhyun for a minute. A fifteen year old should still be able to count sheep, right? Well...he still does...
"One puffy sheep, two puffy sheep, three puffy sheep..." Sungmin said, dreamily, and giggled before smiling at the thought of his own childish acts. He's still very young, even at fifteen...

Kyuhyun laughed lightly and laid down. "Yes ma'am." He said and saluted. Kyuhyun laid there, playing with the sleepy puppy's fur he couldn't sleep after his nightmare. "Princess!" He called out, a smile spreading across his face as he saw the other coming. "I can't sleep..." Kyuhyun said softly with a childish pout. "I'm going to wake up Kakao if you don't suggest something." He threatened towards the sleeping puppy.

", don't touch me." He joked and bit softly at Kyuhyun's hand. "You take some more rest. I'll be here if you need anything." Smiling as he spoke the sentence, Sungmin slowly stood up and walked back into the bathroom to continue washing the still-stained shirt. In his head, he kept on thinking about what Kyuhyun had said earlier...insecure, eh? Sungmin looked at himself in the mirror and pouted. He was naturally (fictionally xD) blonde, much to almost everyone's surprise--including himself. "Insecure..." He mumbled to himself quietly before going back to washing the shirt.

Kyuhyun chuckled lightly. "Of course not /princess/." He said with a pause before continuing. "In fact I think it's because they're insecure. They might assume that blonde people are attractive, based on what some teenagers think. Especially on American culture. Anyway, my point is..is that people who are blonde and usually aren't in a relationship is because they might be too worried on what other's say or just a bit blind on natural beauty, or true beauty if you may." Kyuhyun explained in a calm tone. "That made a little sense right? I'm a bit delusional at the moment..." He said with a chuckle. He then laid back a bit more and stared at the ceiling in thought. "Don't be self conscious about my comment either, I'm sure you'll find someone special to you," Kyuhyun said as he glanced at the older and smiled, lightly ruffling his hair.

"He's not my boyfriend...well, I don't know, really." Sungmin said, his eyes still closed. "Your shirt is in the bathroom. I'll fix it for you and return it later." Sungmin replied as he read Kyuhyun's mind. He didn't actually /read minds/, he just seems to know everything a person is thinking by their actions. He could feel people's actions even when he isn't looking--and Kyuhyun isn't a hard one to feel at all. Thinking back to what Kyuhyun had said...does he even reach anyone's standards? Blond, short, scrawny..., he doesn't. His eyebrows tied into a knot at the though. "Blond people don't usually...get a good relationship because they're...dumb, right, /hyung/?" Sungmin asked, finally opening his eyes and facing back at Kyuhyun, also noticing at the same time that Kakao had already fallen asleep.

Kyuhyun scoffed back. "Because I'm taller, stronger, and I would top if we were ever in a relationship." He said was snarky tone before checking out Sungmin and making a face of disapproval . "But you don't reach my standards." He said a smirk and laid back a bit. Kyuhyun frowned at the other's comment. "Shouldn't your actual boyfriend know your birthday?" He asked in a confused tone, only to glare at the other. "I think I should be the one saying that," Kyuhyun stated in a stern tone before shivering slightly at the cold. He never liked winter, he was always catch a cold. The only times he liked it was when his mother would make him hot cocoa and sit with him by the fireplace and sing to him while they were wrapped up in a giant blanket his grandmother made. "I hate winter.." He grumbled and played the waist band of his pants. Wait...where's his over shirt?

Sungmin scoffed and looked at Kyuhyun with his face a bit scrunched up. "Why the should I call you hyung? I'm older than you." He said and moved himself further apart away from Kyuhyun. "You don't need to go through all the troubles. I'm pretty sure I'll be fine with just Kakao this year...Jinyoung hyung probably doesn't even know it's my birthday..." He said with a soft sigh before turning his head to look outside the window again. " life, I wanna go to hell already," He joked to himself and laughed a little as a soft wind blew through the small opening. The cold air felt good on his skin...he slowly closed his eyes and inhaled gently. He liked winter..it'd always been his favorite season, after all.

Kyuhyun raised an eyebrow. "Really? Well I'll be sure to take you somewhere then...." He paused and shook his head at the thought of how busy it would be on the streets. "Never mind I'll just throw you a small party or something." He said with a shrug. Kyuhyun scooted towards the edge of the bed leaving a gap between him and Sungmin. "I made space Hyung." He said with a chuckle. He made a odd face and shook his head slowly. "That doesn't sound right... You should call me Hyung." Kyuhyun said with a playful smirk.

"The dorms, I used to live with granny but, I decided I'll probably be better off on my own. She doesn't like dogs that much but Kakao seems to notice that and be nice whenever she's around. I just thought I'd be a burden for her if I continue to stay there." Sungmin finished his sentence and yawned a little, rubbing his eyes like a child. He didn't like talking about his family lives that much; except for the fact that his brother is the cutest thing in the world. "I'm turning sixteen soon--this New Year's day, actually." Much to his own surprised, he remembered his own birthday this year. He'd never celebrated his own birthday since, what, 9 years old? His parents were always too busy and his younger brother could do nothing but leave a small card on his working table at New Year's eve night when he's asleep. That was all he could remember for his birthday...

Kyuhyun smiled at Kakao and the other. It was-surprisingly-a genuine smile, that would make a child smile. Weird right? "I suppose you have a point. Oh, and I just turned 15. How old are you?" He asked looking at the puppy who decided to sniff his pants. "Sungmin-ssi. If I may ask, where do you live if you ran away? I'm staying at a foster home around here, the kids there are really sweet. Since the foster parents are old.. They seem to listen better if I'm there since I'm older. Miyoung's an angel, she's 4 and when she was a baby her mom brought her there because she couldn't take care of her.. That's what Ajhumma told me at least. Anyway, what was your answer.." Kyuhyun said looking up at Sungmin and smiling as Kakao his hand.

"What reasons do I have to tell a dirty secret of my frienemie to someone else?" Sungmin replied softly, keeping his eyes onto the puppy. "By the way...I've never gotten a chance to ask. How old are you, so I can consider myself whether or not I should call you /hyung/," He tilted his head a little and picked up Kakao by the two front legs and made it dance to the three bear song. "Kyeopta~"

Kyuhyun blinked in surprised. "I wish I had it that good. I grew up with an abusive father that almost killed my mom.. Something lead to another and I ended up hoping from foster home to foster home. To this day in fact." He said with a smile. "And I was 8 at the time." He stated as he looked at the puppy and started to let it. "Only Sanghyun know's so I would appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone..." Kyuhyun said looking at Sungmin while playing with his lower lip.

Sungmin scoffed and looked out the window. "I found Kakao when he was also wounded; got bit by a few other bigger dogs. It was when I ran away from home a couple years ago, luckily I was able to help get this little buddy healed up and happy again. I was only twelve, ya know!" Sungmin laughed and turned back around to smile at Kyuhyun and the puppy. "It's been only almost four years since I found him, but he loves me so much, almost like a sibling. Sometimes I even misunderstand myself as a dog, too." He said with a small pout, making Kakao crawl around the bed in confusion and worry on both of the beings on the bed.

Kyuhyun relaxed a bit and nodded. "Y-Yeah..." He said weakly before looking at Sungmin confused. "What? You want to hear about my nightmare and you aren't going to kill me? This seems a little to good to be true." He joked. Kyuhyun looked at Kakao and smiled softly. "So you like me huh?" He asked, making the puppy tilt it's head slightly before wagging it's tail. "You and your owner make a cute duo." Kyuhyun complimented as he d the small dog's fur.

Sungmin turned around to look at Kyuhyun in confusion. His cheeks puffed up for one; he didn't like the fact that he felt worried about this wild pokekyu, and for two; Kyuhyun didn't lay still like he had told him to. "Yah, yah, yah, something wrong? I told you to lay down like a million times; see?! You're bleeding again. you, Cho Kyuhyun." Sungmin dropped the shirt in his hands into the water before turning around to sit next to Kyuhyun on the bed. "Nightmare?" He asked. Judging by the looks on Kyuhyun's face, it wasn't exactly that hard to tell. After all, Sungmin's been through those times before. He smiled a little as Kakao slowly crawled in closer to Kyuhyun and whimpered, showing a clear sign of worry. "Even Kakao's worried...if you don't mind, I can be a good listener if you need one."

Kyuhyun laid as the puppy whimpered. Kyuhyun flinched in his sleep, making unpleasent expressions. He was having another bad dream about his parents.
Kyuhyun walked into an empty house, a puddle of blood in the middle of the main hallway. "Hello?" He called out in a caious tone. After a few seconds he walked in, closing the door behind him. He looked at the walls and floor, having this irritating feeling that he knew this place. It wasn't until he took a left down a hall to see a familiar dent in the wall near the bottom. Kyuhyun's breath caught in his throat. This was his original home, hell hole if you may. It wasn't until he walked in to his parents room that he bursted in to tears. There facing the wall, was a bloody body. It wasn't a female, and his father was towering over the motionless body. "Oh Kyuhyun, you made it." His father said in a sickly sweet tone. "W-What?" Kyuhyun stuttered. "I was going to hunt you down but you walked right here!" His father said with a grinch like smile on his face. "N-No...wait who is that?" Kyuhyun asked trying to peer over the taller man's shoulder. He didn't catch a glance at the body before his father grabbed his wrist forcefully, making Kyuhyun's frightened eyes shoot up to the man's evil drenched orbs.
Kyuhyun screamed a loud no before he shot up. Sweat racing down his face, he scanned the room frantically to find any sign ofhis father so he could run only to find the blonde boy Sungmin and his dog.

Sungmin slowly ed Kyuhyun's shirt one by one and took the stained cloth to put somewhere else. He carefully wrapped the bandaid cloth around Kyuhyun's waist until he fully covered the wounded area. Sighing out of tiredness, he patted at Kakao's head. "Take care of your new friend for a while, arasseo? I'll be back in a minute," Sungmin smiles and took the stained shirt into the bathroom, washing it throughly and shaking his head to the amount of blood flowing out with the water.

Kyuhyun breathed in a very labored mannar. His eyes staying shut as he relaxed under the medic touch of Sungmin's hands and a now snuggly puppy against his shoulder. He breath started to slow down in a more calming pace as well. Kyuhyun's lips parted as he slept, the pain didn't hurt as much anymore. He could stay through this..

"Be quiet and let Kakao comfort you for the time being, stop judging the Lee family, will you?" Sungmin joked as he deliberately patted the alcohol-damped cotton onto the wounded area. Feeling the need to make Kyuhyun fall asleep so it makes his work easier, Sungmin quietly hummed a tune--a lullaby that he likes to sing to himself and seems to work every time he needs to sleep. Sungmin worked slowly and gently, smiling a little as he noticed the change on Kyuhyun's painful expression overtime.

Kyuhyun stared at the dog and frowned. "I-I don't think that's....s-sanitary..." He croaked. There wasn't a lot of things Kyuhyun could could do about it though. He winced at the feeling of his t-shirt being lifted, "L-Let me...d...ie I-if it's too...gross..." Kyuhyun labored out with every pained breath. He laid there slowly closing his eyes, he was so tired. It wouldn't hurt to take a little nap would it?
