@Skye Jae nodded when he heard Skye tell him that humans are complicated. "I understand what you are saying. They are complicated to me too." He laughed and listened as she talked to him. "Oh.. I guess the more intelligent and smart people have a higher rank and you have to learn to make your way up. I don't want to go higher up than this though, I am fine how I am."
"I agree, resting is really good for you. It keeps you healthy and you won't be tired." Jae laughed again as she said it keeps your mind sharp in case of any sudden attacks. "That is an interesting thing to say, but true!"
"Okay, I will definitely come back next time. Your stories are interesting and fun to listen to. You also get into it very much~. So detailed."
@Jae "Humans are complicated, but some of you, I can imagine saying that animals are absolutely brutal. Constantly fighting to keep their spot on the top. Where in that world you rely on brute strength and how fast your mind is to react." Skye huffed and tilted her head back to look at Jae. "I'm not sure how humans figure out the placements. It does seem that people sort of just agree with what rank they had been given. and if they are good, they get boosted up." Skye thought out loud with a soft hum.
"Resting is good though. you don't overwork yourself and you give your body and mind some time to heal~" Skye replied with a soft sing song tone. "Keeping your mind sharp just in case of any sudden attacks! Especially at night!" Skye chirruped and kicked her legs back and forth, rather amused.
"Alright, If you are going to leave, be sure to come back next time...if you're still interested in my stories." Skye reminded with a flash of her teeth, her lips curled up into a smile.
@Skye Jae looked at her as she said that he would potentially lose his status as a Psychologist and many other things could happen. "I could possibly get kicked out, or they would think something was wrong with me for going against them after all this time." He laughed softly as she said she wasn't a seer and couldn't see the future. Of course, the kind of life she was used to was different than theirs, so he understood why she would say humans are complicated. "Yes, they are complicated."
"Hmm... I guess if you're going to nap, I should go find something else to do. I should be working, not resting, right now." Jae laughed softly and shook his head at her question, "I don't take naps constantly. It's different for different people."
@Jae Skye's eyes became softer, warmer and as if she was reminiscing about something. Skye was more adaptable to different scenerios. Her mother jaguar had taught her well. Because of Skye's lack of claws and canines, she was forced to adapt with her weaknesses in the wild but her mother Jaguar had led her delicately towards honing her strengths. Her curiosity.
"You lose your status. as a Psychologist. That's a potential loss. There could be many things that would happen. I wouldn't really know. I grew up in the nature. Not a....ah what do you guys call it?" Skye paused and thought. "A seer? I can't see the future." The latter part was more spoken in a joking manner. Skye became quiet as she thought, and many scenerios that was going through her mind, Jae would be more hurt than it benefiting him. The human side of the world did not work like the side she was accustomed to. Normally, if someone didn't like how the 'alpha' one was acting, they fight and if the challenger managed to get the other to submit, the challenger would become the new 'alpha'. Or at least, manage to get the message across that the challenger is not submissive enough to lay on their back. "Aaah, humans are so complicated." Skye groaned -a bit dramatically if she would say so herself-.
"iss up to you." Skye murmured as she flopped down in the pillow fort, hands already grasping onto a nearby pillow and she snuggled up to the pillow as if she was cuddling up to someone. Skye glanced at Jae out of the corner of her eye before she asked her question. "Do you...uh do the rest of the humans not take naps constantly?"
@Skye "Oh... I see what you mean." Jae nodded when he heard what Skye said about not knowing. "I agree, hearing stories that other people told is a great bonding experience. I know, you don't know how to read, so you wouldn't know."
Jae smiled as Skye told him that he was curious about them, so of course she told him. "Yeah, I grew up with this around me. I understand that you were just kinda tossed into this sort of living situation, so of course it'll be hard. You aren't used to it, so I get what you are saying. It would probably be the same for me if I was forced into the opposite living situation." He nodded at her and frowned a bit.
Jae laughed softly as Skye patted his head and listened to her. "I see... I can't fight them... What would happen to me if I tried to fight them? I definitely don't like to be associated with them, and I don't connect myself to them. I don't think of myself like them."
"Yes, I will take my time on it." Jae saw her yawn and rub her eyes before asking if he was staying while she napped. "I see. I don't know, it depends on you if you want me to stay. If you don't, I'll just go and let you nap here."
@Jae "It's not that I dont think they are nice.....I dont...know." Skye finished a bit lamely and sighed softly. "Besides, telling stories by the tongue is a great bonding experience.....for me that is." Skye shrugged slightly. "I mean....how would I know? I dont even know how to read."
Skye smiled softly and mused. "You were curious about the stories, Jae. and who am I to not tell you stories that you were so curious about?" Skye giggled to herself. "That makes sense. You grew up with things like..." Skye motioned around the vaguely. "around. I was sorta...just tossed into this sort of life out of nowhere. It wouldn't be the fact that I dont like it. It's that I dont understand it. As someone who spent so much time outside, whose life was based around the nature and wild, being inside for long periods of time doesn't really make sense. Well, it sorta does, considering it does give you shelter from the cold and everything....you get what i'm saying right?" Skye explained and asked softly, looking at Jae with curious eyes.
Skye frowned softly and slowly reached out, patting Jae's head comfortingly. "Many others would think that you are like them. You're not fighting against them, you're basically laying down and showing your belly at them. Reluctant? Probably yeah. But it's not you're fighting them." Skye paused and smiled softly. "But it makes sense that you just want to not be associated with them. It's not like they're your pack or you're connected to them in any sort of fashion."
Skye smiled brightly in return and nodded. "Do take your time on it. It's the thought that counts." With that, Skye began to yawn again and she began to rub her eyes before looking up at Jae. "You stayin here when I nap?" Pause. "Sorry, I still take nap often. Is just something I never dropped since Mother Jaguar. and besides, most animals I travelled with took naps constantly so." Skye yawned again and resisted the urge to just flop down in the pillow fort.
@Skye "I look after everyone, so don't worry about me. I know how much time I should spend with them." Jae smiled and nodded when he heard her. "I see what you mean. You don't think written stories are nice? Maybe it's because you haven't read one before.. You can still feel the emotions of it and everything."
"Of course, you're being nice and you even told me about yourself and your stories. Not many would want to share their stories so easily." He shrugged and looked at her as she spoke. "I am not outside much, so I can't really read the sun's position from inside... This is our way of tracking time, but I can see why you probably wouldn't like it." Since Skye was used to reading the sun, Jae didn't expect her to like their way of reading the time.
Jae saw her eyes widen as she shook her hands along with her head and heard her say 'No!' loudly. He bit his lip softly and nodded when she said that he didn't need to apologize. Seeing her smile, Jae knew that she still missed having it because she was so happy when she described it in her story. "It's no problem.. I just don't want to be thought of as the same as those guys. They are the ones that are to blame..." He sighed softly and put his head down.
"I am sure." Jae smiled brightly when she said that he could make it while thinking about her. "That sounds like a good idea. I shall make it when I have time to make it. It might take a little while though, if that's okay."
@Jae "Oh no, I'm just sure that there are others that you need to look after instead of me. I would like to be taught how to read by you." Skye replied with a soft smile. "I am interested in stories. But stories spoken by the tongue is much more personal, you know? When someone else is telling a story, you can tell their favorite parts by the glimmer in their eyes and the excitement in their tone, as well as many other things."
"I'm glad you think so." Skye smiled brightly when he had declared that she wasn't bad. Was she really not bad? It would be more of perspective, cause she had done her fair share of hunting for food. To the prey she had hunted, and their families, she must seem like a horrible being. 'No. In that world, it is to kill or be killed.' Her mind corrected and Skye nodded to herself, agreeing with the thought. "Did you guys just choose not to read the suns position now or..." Skye trailed off and realization came to her. "because you guys just dont spend time outside all the time. So instead you have a different method of tracking time." Skye murmured, and the expression on her face turned sour at the thought of not spending outside.
She smiled brightly at the praise that was given to her by Jae, thoroughly pleased with herself at using the word correctly. Her eyes widened and she rapidly shook her hands and head as she suddenly declared, rather loudly. "No!" She paused as she became a bit sheepish, her tone becoming a bit softer. "I know you aren't like them. No need to apologize. Really. Sorry about bringing it up." Skye reassured with a soft smile, yet the slight pang in her chest was evident. She had worked really hard on her weapons, but they were taken away from her without her okay. Of course she wouldn't like that, but the chances of her seeing it again would be slim.
"are you sure? I'm...not sure about all the different designs that are possible. Perhaps, you can make it however you wish, but think about me as you do so? I wanna see what design that represents how you see me." Skye asked with a grin.
@Skye Jae smiled at her when she said that he could teach her if he insisted. "If you don't want me to, I understand, but I just want to help you learn to read.. You seem to be interested in stories, so there are books that tell great stories. You can read them if you learn how to read. It would be nice for you." He wouldn't teach her anything wrong and hoped that she would trust him to not teach her bad things.
"I don't think it's a bad thing to be around you, you aren't bad." Jae smiled too and nodded., "Yes, it is like a reading thing, I guess. Yeah, we have to keep track of time meticulously. You did use the word right, good job." He smiled more and laughed happily, liking how she was excited about using the word.
Jae frowned when she said that they took her vine that held her weapons when she was brought here. "I am sorry that they took it from you... Please don't think of me like them. I don't like them to take you away from your home, but I can't do anything to stop them. They are in a higher position than me.." He nodded as she asked if the materials were man made, "Yes, they are. If you'd like, I can make you one. I can make it however you want."
@Jae Skye peered at Jae for a moment, as if she was looking for any sort of sign of Jae just saying that instead of him really wanting to do it. "If you insist." Skye spoke after a moment of thinking, her words slow as if she was bewildered that he would want to spend more time with her than necessary. Well, she was more cautious because this...reading thing that Jae had spoken of, seemed like a language one could see visually. Plus. it wouldn't be the first time someone would have tried to teach the wrong words to her just out of spite.
Shaking her head as if to get those negative thoughts out of her head, Skye smiled brightly. "I guess you'll be stuck with lil ol me for a bit longer." Skye declared with a toothy grin. She peered at the circular thing on his wrist that had two little sticks in it. "Is this another one of your reading things?" Skye asked with a soft giggle. "I suppose you would need to keep track of time more me-ti-cu-lo-us-ly. Because of your job." Skye paused for a moment before looking at Jae with excited eyes. "Did I use that word right? me-ti-cu-lo-us-ly?"
"Ah!" Skye declared after she saw what he had shown to her as a necklace. "I had something like that! but it wasn't around my neck. I had a vine and wrapped it around my waist. It held my weapons so I had my hands free to do whatever else I needed to!" Skye exclaimed excitedly before her mood physically deflated upon realization. "But....you guys must have taken it when you brought me here. One moment it was there and the next gone..." Skye murmured and bit the inside of her cheek, frustrated. She took a soft deep breath and then peered at his bracelet. "That looks really cool. I haven't seen anything like your necklace or bracelet in nature. Is the materials man made?"
@Skye "Yes, reading is how you understand the scribbles, as you call them. It's okay, that's what I am here for. To help you learn as well." Jae smiled and shook his head, "You won't waste my time. My job is to teach things like this, no worries."
Jae laughed softly as she looked at his watch before looking back at him. He looked at her and nodded at the question, "Yes, this is how I tell the sun's position. It's called a watch." He showed her his wrist and pointed to the hands of the clock, "When these get to a certain number, such as 12, that means it is the middle of the day."
"Yes, it depends on our position in the job. I guess it is odd if you haven't been around us or lived like us, like you haven't." He laughed too and smiled, "A necklace is this." He had a necklace on, but it was hidden by his clothes. Pulling it out, he showed it to her. "It's a crystal. Isn't it nice? A bracelet is like this, but smaller for your wrist." Jae pointed to his wrist and hoped that she would understand what he meant.
@Jae "Read?" Skye asked with a confused look on her face. "Is that how you understand the scribbles? By...reading them?" Skye furrowed her eyebrows and groaned. "Never had to learn how to....read before." Skye mumbled and sighed softly. "I can try, but I'm more worried about me taking up your time by teaching me how to ...read."
Skye stared at Jae as he looked at his wrist and her eyes darted from the thing on his wrist and back at Jae. "What the-" Skye blinked owlishly, extremely confused about the watch. "Is that how you tell the sun's position?" Skye asked curiously with a tilt of her head.
"So...it depends on your rank....or ah, what's that word. Position?" Skye questioned and mused softly. "Definitely depends on your position then. Humans are odd." Skye commented and airly laughed to herself. "Make...? Necklace? Bracelet? What are those things? I never heard of them." Shifting around so she would be much more comfortable, Skye had began to feel a bit sleepy, but her eyes weren't drooping yet so she could stay awake a bit longer before she took her afternoon nap.
@Skye "Alright, I won't change for anyone but myself... It's true that you didn't interact with humans much, but you are smart, I think." Jae laughed softly and went into the pillow fort with Skye, sitting beside her and puffing his cheeks out a bit.
"No problem." Jae nodded and laughed when she called them scribbles in books. "Yeah, those scribbles that you see. Maybe I can help you read? I can try to teach you how to read, if you'd like." He smiled and shrugged, looking at her.
"Don't be sorry, it's okay. Yeah,,, sorry that you can't see the sun.." Jae looked at his watch and nodded at her, "Yes, it is around mid-day. I know that you are used to seeing the sun to tell what time it is, and I'm here to help you know what time of day it is too."
Jae smiled softly when he heard her giggle and heard her say she wouldn't know what it would be like to have a human job. "I know... Not everyone has to be working all the time but I do because I am with people like you all day. There are other jobs that have at least time to not be working.." He smiled too when she said they were lucky to have ones like her. "That's true... Hmm... I am not sure what to ask. Do you want me to make something for you? Like a necklace or bracelet or something?"
@Jae "Don't try to change because of what I'm saying. Change because you want to. But, in the end. This is just the rambling of a person that didn't interact with humans much before being brought here." Skye laughed more to herself. Crawling back into the pillow fort, Skye laid down stretching lazily before snuggling the pillows once again.
"That would be nice. Thank you." Skye smiled and then tilted her head when Jae suggested reading. "Read? You mean those scribbles in the books or what you guys write? I'm not very good at it. I'm learning, but...I pick up speaking alot faster. And I never needed to learn how to read before. Being with animals and all, everything was spoken." Skye shrugged slightly before yawning.
"Sorry." Skye murmured and out of pure habit, she turned her head, searching for the sky so she could see where the sun was.....only to realize that she was still inside and wasn't able to see the sky. "Oh yeah, cant see the sun now." Being unable to see the sun actually had several negative effects on Skye, who had always used the position of the sun to tell how late in the day it was. "Is it around mid-day right now?" Skye asked, looking at Jae.
Skye remained silent, as much as she didn't like it, like the fact that there was no nature around, and the fact that it seems like it's just things worked there. She couldn't just start demanding for nature and being able to see the sun at her own leisure.
"I liked being with Mother Jaguar, but because it's Jaguars like to be alone, Mother Jaguar and I couldn't stay together for very long. After all, the only reason why Mother Jaguar stayed with me for so long is because I couldn't care for myself at that time." Skye mused and her giggle is muffled by the pillow. "Perhaps."
"I wouldn't know what it would be like to have a human job. Out there, it's a full time thing. Survival of the fittest, is what you guys call it, isn't it?" Skye replied, purposely not delving more into what she meant by the full time thing. She assumed Jae knew what she had meant. "Mhm, lucky you have ones like me." Skye replied with a lazy smile. "Anything you want to ask, Jae?"
@Skye "I understand... We do have different outlooks on everything since we grew up differently." Jae sighed softly to himself and continued to listen as Skye told him that he shouldn't be afraid. "I see what you mean, and I do make memories. This is one of the memories. I do accept people into my life, like Kit and Mo, since I don't like to be alone and I care about them a lot.. I will try to be better, but I think it won't change much..." He frowned too and shrugged.
"Yeah, they are nice animals to be around. Maybe I can possibly show one to you if I get the chance to. I'm not sure when that could happen though. You can probably read about them too." Jae smiled as he saw how she was excited about it and about learning as much as she could.
"I see... I also wish there was nature around for me to enjoy. It would be nice and it would feel more normal to be here, but there's nothing. I want to see how it is... But that is how it is." Seeing her frown, Jae frowned and poked her cheeks gently.
"Yes, maybe you also don't like to be alone because you do like to be around other animals, right? After all, you are still a human.." Jae smiled softly and chuckled softly.
"I am busy, sadly. It is my job that lasts all day long, so I am not really that lucky. At least it's around people like you, but sometimes there are difficult ones to deal with, or rude ones.." Jae smiled back at her, hearing her say that she would show Jae and everyone else those sights.
@Jae "But....isn't that part of life? Maybe it's cause we grew up in two different environments and have different outlooks on everything." Skye asked softly and frowned as she continued to speak. "No one is expected to be here forever, Jae. Things happen, life happens. I know it's scary, you dont want to be hurt and you dont want others to be hurt. But, is it really worth distancing yourself from others in fear that you will be hurt? You wont ever be able to make fond memories that you can look back on and smile at. You will be living in fear the whole time, you would lose your chances to actually go and make friends, make memories. Yes, if you guys get hurt, it will hurt. Alot. But that pain isn't there forever. But the memories will last for a lifetime."
"House cat? Puppy? I never met any of those before, what are they life?" Skye asked with a tilt of her head, her eyes sparkling at the excitement of possibly meeting new animals. "That's why I'm gonna try to learn as much as I can when I can!" Skye declared confidently.
"I'm not....fearful persay. I want to learn everything about humans, personally. But, the lack of nature around makes me want to go home even more." Skye explained and frowned. " Just how it is, huh?" She echoed softly, the frown more evident on her expression.
"Humans are complicated. But not everyone is cut out for being alone. Humans, after are, are a social group. Perhaps that's why I was so keen on finding more animals to learn from, because there might be that inate desire in me to not be alone." Skye mused.
"Pity, you're a busy busy little thing, it must have slipped from my mind." Skye smiled softly and shook her head. "You dont need to if you dont want to or dont have time to. Concentrate on research and all that. It is, your job after all." Skye smiled reassuringly and hummed. "It is, if I get the chance to. I'll show you guys those sights. It'll take your breath away."
@Skye "I don't mean I would hurt others, because I don't want to do that. What I mean is that if I become close with another person that probably won't be here forever or something else happens to them, we would both be hurt emotionally... I don't want that to happen." Jae nodded as she said he had his family right here, "Yes, that's what counts for me."
Jae chuckled softly at her being excited, "So, you want me to find some other animals to bring to you? Maybe you might like them. How about something like a cat? You probably haven't seen a house cat before, have you? Or a puppy. They are both nice to have around..." Seeing her spin around in a circle with her arms out as she spoke, Jae laughed, "There are a lot of animals out there to learn about, so I don't know if the learning will ever stop."
"I understand why you would be fearful of this place. Unlike us who have been here for our whole lives basically, you have been in the opposite environment for your whole life. I know the change is drastic, but this is just how it is, sadly..."
"I didn't mean it that way. I am definitely not alone. I know people here and I try to get to know others as well. I'm just talking about if humans were alone, it wouldn't be good for them. Maybe some can survive, but most people can't" Jae smiled softly at her and nodded.
"I don't think I have time to search those up... I have to research about other things like animals and learn more about Wild Ones." Jae felt her hand clasp over his own and shook his head at her next questions, "I haven't seen those things, but I heard about them before... It must be nice to see.. It sounds amazing and relaxing to be around."
@Jae "Hurt anyone around you? How would you hurt others? I mean, you're not harmless. But I dont feel anything bad from you." Skye asked rather confused. Giggling softly, Skye smiled softly when she spoke again. "Family is family, no matter if you're different species, of different blood or anything. You may not know your birth family, but you have one, right here. Isn't that what counts?"
"Bring back all sorts of animals! I need to make sure my tongues aren't becoming rusty." Skye clapped her hands together excitedly and her whole demeanor was similar to an excited cub. "Isn't it? I simply couldn't just keep to one area when I had the whole world out in front of me." Skye crawled out of the pillow fort and stood up. Stretching her arms out horizontally and spinning on the heel of her left foot, delighted giggles spilling from her lips. "Mother Jaguar told me about all sorts of animals she had come across during hunting or territory searching/guarding. Sometimes, she would laze on a high tree and watch other animals hunt. From the lionesses to the hyenas." Skye spoke excitedly as she spun in a circle, emphasizing on how large the world really was
"Mother Jaguar told me of animals with skin so tough, it would take her several tries to kill it. Of animals with hard backs instead of soft skin that she could bite into. Of animals that could easily crush her if she was not quick." Skye had stopped spinning and turned to look at Jae with bright eyes sparkling with the thirst of knowledge. "After Mother Jaguar told me all these tales, how could I not be excited to learn about all the animals I could possibly can?"
"I travelled alot, past several rivers and through many trees. But wherever I had gone, there was always nature surrounding me. Wouldn't it make sense if not only me, but many others like me. Who had grown up in the wild. Be so fearful of this place? This place holds no resemblance to the wild we know and love from the deepest parts of our hearts. It's lovely and all, but the change is too drastic for some of us."
"You aren't alone. You have Kit and Mo! It wouldn't hurt to try and spread those wings of yours, try to get to know more people. You may never know, you might meet someone that you absolutely hate or love" Skye smiled brightly and giggled to herself.
"It wouldn't hurt to look it up, things like...i think they were called fairytales, legends, stories about gods." Skye smiled brightly and sat directly in front of Jae, reaching out so her hand clasped over his own. "You've been here your whole life? Have you ever seen the sky being dipped in purple and red as the sun sets? with your own eyes? or maybe the bluest water you could ever see with waterfalls so large, you can't even fathom how to get up to the top? Trees so high that the tips has to touch the clouds."
@Skye "Yes, I guess it is a way to protect myself. I also don't want to hurt anyone around me..." Jae sighed softly to himself and nodded at what she said about no two people being alike. "That's true, I am lucky to have Kit and Mo around because they have been my constant throughout my life, like you said.I enjoy having them as my family.." He laughed softly when she patted his head, thinking it was nice.
"Oh, I see... I don't know my birth family either, so we are the same that way. Being in a different place to live without our birth family. I don't have anyone to think of as my mother or father, but that is alright, I am used to it." Jae nodded when she pronounced the word to tell her that it was correct.
When Skye told him that she didn't want him to find a companion, Jae smiled a bit. "If you say so. I wouldn't be bothered by it, but that's true. I don't want to bring an animal that tried to kill you before." He laughed too and looked around. "I agree, it's always interesting to learn new things about all sorts of animals."
"There really is no green here... I think that would also be nice, to live where it was beautiful with nature around. It's alright to ramble, it's interesting to hear what you have to say." Jae gave her a thumbs up and chuckled softly.
"Yeah, it is weird, humans seem to not be able to be alright if they are by themselves. We aren't solitary, like you said. I think people would go crazy if they were all alone, sadly. Don't worry about me though, I seem to be doing fine." Jae smiled a bit and poked her cheek.
"I don't really know of any stories... I haven't been told any stories and I have just been here my whole life, as long as I can remember." Jae sighed softly and looked at her.
@Jae "It's a way to protect yourself, isn't it?" Skye asked softly, her words being muffled by the pillow. "Well, no two lions are alike. Or in your case, no two humans are alike." Skye chirped after turning her head to look at Jae. Smiling softly, Skye reached up and patted Jae's head, like how Mo had patted hers many times before.
"People, and animals, all have slightly different ways at doing things. You're very lucky to have Kit around, it seems like both him and perhaps Mo, has been your constant through out your life. I have to say, i'm a bit jealous." Skye laughed towards the end and sighed softly.
"I dont have any re-co-llection of my birth family. I know I had one as well, but I never bothered searching for them. I had Mother Jaguar with me, and she was my mother." Skye slowly pronounced the word, making sure she was saying it properly.
Skye stared at Jae when he offered to find her an animal companion, Skye remained quiet. She didn't know what to think, but..... "I wouldn't want to bother you with finding a companion for me. Besides, who knows. You might end up bringing one that tried to kill me before." Skye laughed at the last part, finding it rather humorous. "That part I can do, I'm excited...to learn about everything for humans. How they talk, their way of doing things. and so much more. I've always been excited to learn new things about all sorts of animals." Skye slowly glanced around and the realization dawned upon her.
"How about the fact that there's no green around here? Where's the nature, the trees, rivers. Fresh air would be lovely as well." Skye laughed and quickly shook her head. "I know it's not your fault. Ignore what I said, it's just me rambling my mouth."
"It's interesting, really. But....everyone feels so distant from each other...and it's rather scary. It doesn't seem like humans are solitary creatures, With animals, i know when one is solitary because they're alone. or if they are social because they are in a group. But humans? They're around each other all the time but...something feels off." Skye sighed and pouted to herself.
"Do you know any stories? Little stories that don't really apply to you? Ones you tell the young?" Skye asked curiously.
@Skye Jae listened to Skye and shrugged, "I am not really used to getting attached to people... I tend to hide my feelings from them, but it is different with my friend, Kit. For some reason, probably because I always had him around, I can tell him anything..." He sighed softly and looked down when she said it is good to be attached in order to learn how to understand things better.
"Oh... I see what you mean... At some point, I guess I had an actual family, but I have no memories of them or what happened before I came here. I don't know why, it's weird." He noticed her hug a pillow closer to her and thought that she was probably upset.
When she said that there wasn't an animal with her when she was taken, Jae looked at her, "It's okay, I can try to find you a companion animal if you would like. It's not good to be alone and not have an animal with you that you can be friends with.." Hearing her say that they may never let her go back home, Jae shrugged, "That isn't up to me... The most you can do is try to become like everyone else and resocialize, so maybe you can be let out from here, but I am not completely sure of their plan. It's not my fault that you are here, so please don't think it is."
"That's nice... I don't see many things besides this place and around here. That is interesting. It must be nice to have your animals to play with, and it must be less interesting here." Jae shook his head when she said she was rambling, "That's alright."
@Jae Skye shrugged slightly and laid down in the fort, snuggling into some pillows. "You're thinking into it way too sciencey in my mind. Being attached is good, you have all these fond memories and stuff like that. You also learn new things that you didn't know. Like how simply hunting for an injured wolf would spark some time in the pack she belongs to. That after observing Lions for a while, you need to be self assured on your place in the pride. No one is expected to stay with each other forever. One would have to learn how to say goodbye or see you again." Skye murmured softly and sighed softly.
"There isn't a day that goes by that I dont miss My Mother Jaguar and many other parts of my family when i kept moving about. Many of them offered for me to stay with them forever, or even come with me as I go to different places. But, it seems like people aren't used to saying goodbye often. being seperated and possibly never reuniting." Skye shrugged and hugged a pillow closer to her.
"You guys dont have an animal that isn't with a Wild one? There wasn't an animal with me when I was taken by you guys. So you dont have a companion for me." Skye's smile became much more forced and she hid her face into the pillow. "I miss home. I want to go back. But you guys may never let me, isn't that right?"
"I like many colors. I have been lucky enough to see all sorts of beautiful things before. The sun rising, setting. The reflection of the moon on a lake. Beautiful vibrant colors from flowers and luscious green everywhere. I like......many things. I like learning about others, how they do things, how they speak. I also like to just bond with them. When we would laze around, hunting together, playing together. Little cubs climbing over me when i'm trying to sleep." Skye murmured softly and froze when she realized that she was rambling...again. "God I was just rambling. Sorry..."
@Skye Jae shook his head and smiled, "That's good, but don't trust everyone you see. Some people pretend to be a certain way, but end up not really being nice people. I'm just saying you should try to be careful around everyone. Thank you for feeling safe around us." He laughed as Skye nudged him and nodded, "Yes, animal's instinct."
Hearing her ask if it would be better to form a deep relationship to understand them better, Jae looked down. "I do understand why they are like this. Of course, they would do what they do depending on the animals they grew up around. If I get too attached, something might happen in the future and maybe we would be separated or worse than that, and it will hurt both people a lot..."
"Well, we have an animal with every Wild One. I don't think they are too dangerous to have around. I think it's good for them to be around so the others might feel more comfortable." Jae shrugged and laughed at her saying that she couldn't be accused of kidnapping people. "Colors I like are black and purple. When I don't have anything else to do, I like to make things for others. Anything really."
@Jae Skye smiled softly and shook her head. "I dont think Jae, Mo. Or Kit is like that. The three of you....dont feel dangerous. You know? I mean, at least, I haven't felt threatened by you guys. I guess....after everything. I trust my gut feeling more than my brain. And....I feel safe with you guys." Skye said gently and smiled a bit sheepishly. "I guess...you can call it an animal's instinct?" Skye laughed as she gently nudged Jae with her arm.
Skye nodded when he told her that he couldn't tell her about the others he had come across. "I understand. Hopefully i can meet some of them. I probably will be interested. I'm interested about everything when it comes to people." Skye giggled with joy. Hearing the next part from Jae made her frown and tilt her head rather confused. "Wouldn't it be better to form a deep relationship? I mean, you want to understand them, but how can you understand them if you keep them at arms length? If you want to learn why they do what they do, then wouldn't it make sense to put yourself in their shoes?"
"Ah, so you guys dont have alot of animals just here. That . You guys think they're too dangerous to have around or somethin?" Skye asked with a tilt of her head, her eyes flickering with some sort of emotion. "Only if they would like to. Can't be accused of kidnapping people or something." Skye laughed and mused softly, laying her head on Jae's shoulder. "What things do you like? Like...colors? What do you like to do when you dont have anything else to do?"
@Skye Jae nodded as she asked if it was true, "Yes, it is so... I am sorry to tell you that. I don't mean to scare you or shock you. I am not one of those people that hurt others for myself to be better, so please don't think of everyone like that.."
When Skye asked him to tell him about some of the hybrids he has came across, Jae shook his head, "I think that I can't tell you... You can see some around here though. Maybe you would be interested in them." He smiled softly when she said that she liked talking to Kit, "I'm sure that he enjoys talking to you too. I do like being a psychologist, since that's all I really know. It was hard work learning how to be one and I luckily understood that. As I was learning how to be one, I realized that I shouldn't form too much of deep relationships with others because I never know what might happen... Even though I work here, I am not exactly sure of their plan for the future..."
"Yes, there are more like you. Hmm... Maybe you can meet them when you get a psychologist assigned to you. You can ask them to go see the others possibly. The others that are like you would have an animal with them, so maybe they would let you cuddle with them, but I don't know..." Jae chuckled softly when she said that maybe they should invite Kit and Mo. "We should. If they would like to." When she rubbed her head against his cheek, Jae didn't mind it since he knew that was something that she was used to doing.
@Jae Skye furrowed her eyebrows together and softly mumbled. "Lots of animals I've met wasn't nice to me at first. But it made sense because out there, it's a kill or be killed environment." Whether or not if the emotion that fluttered through her expression was shock or horror, wasn't really known. All Skye knew was that she didn't like what she had just heard. "Is...that so?" Skye trailed off, but she had many other questions, like why do people hurt others? would ther ebe a reason? Why cant they simply co-exist. But then, Skye remembered that the world is never fair, it was made for the fittest to survive.
Skye nodded intently as she listened to Jae talk about his own story. "Can you tell me about some of the hybrids you've come across or is that something you cant tell me?" Skye asked curiously and mused. "I know Kit! Kit's very nice to me and I really like talking to him. Both he and Mo are very very sweet to me." Skye giggled at the thought of the two she had nonchalantly claimed as hers the moment she saw them. "Do you like being a psychologist? What was it like learning how to be one?"
"Others? You mean there's more like me? Oh! When can I meet them? Do you have other animals here? I like the pillows and the comforters, but I would love to just sleep with a soft, cuddly warm fur curled around me. It feels much safer, I mean....not that being here isnt safe. But it...reminds me of home, you know?" Skye rambled happily and laughed a bit sheepishly towards the end, scratching her cheek nervously. "Perhaps. Maybe we should invite Mo and Kit as well. or maybe some of the other ones like me? That way if we catch alot, we can roast them and eat them around a campfire, or a bar-bar-que." Skye excitedly stated and sat up, and briefly rubbed her head against Jae's cheek. "Kay!" She answered and smiled brightly.
@Skye Jae nodded when she said that his life might not be interesting to him because he is surrounded by people with similar life styles. "That's true... Trust me, I think if you were around humans for long, you wouldn't like them much.. Some people make terrible decisions and lots of people aren't good. They do things to hurt others and some don't care about others... They only care about themselves and want their lives to be fine, so it doesn't matter what they do to achieve their personal wants."
He smiled softly when she seemed to be interested in knowing how it was like to be in his shoes. "I'll tell you about my life then. I am actually not really sure how I ended up here, but I am guessing that I was taken here by someone. I don't know my family, sadly, since I have been here for as long as I can remember. Besides that, I don't know how it is in the outside world. Since I grew up here, I have been learning a lot about different types of people and hybrids. Basically, I was taught to become a psychologist, so I will be assigned to someone that is like you. My job here lasts all day and when I become assigned to someone, I will stay with them no matter what."
Jae thought for a while before starting to talk more, "As I worked here and grew up here, I became friends with one of my coworkers, and that is Kit. He's a really close friend of mine and I trust him more than any other person here, since he is the closest person I have to family. We understand each other well and we get along really well, so that's great." He smiled more as he spoke to her about himself, glad that he had someone to listen to him as well since he usually listened to others.
When she asked if he really didn't mind, peeking out at him, Jae chuckled again, "Of course, I don't mind it. Others have told me about it before. I understand that it is part of your life style, so I am not going to think of you differently because of it or anything." Hearing her tell him that they could go hunting together, Jae smiled, "I think it would be a new experience for me and I would be interested. Maybe the forest or something? I really am alright with it, don't feel upset... Don't feel sorry, okay?"
@Jae Skye tilted her head, a bit confused when Jae told her his life wasn't as interesting. "Perhaps, your life isn't interesting because you are surrounded by those who have similiar life styles? I never lived with a group of humans before. I mean, I stayed with one for a few moons but I didn't stay long enough to learn more. I just felt like I shouldn't have overstayed my welcome." Skye scooched a bit closer to Jae with a soft smile. "Do tell me? I want to hear what it's like. To be in your shoes. How was it like living amongst others like you? How did you end up here?"
Hearing Jae saying that he was okay with it, and was interested as well as entertained. Skye peeked out of the pillows she had buried herself in. "Really? You dont mind?" Skye asked softly, feeling unnaturally shy at that moment. There were many things she found to be normal, and hunting was one of them. Perhaps she had gotten too used to it and the other humans haven't really had their hand in hunting? "I mean...if you're willing to try, we could try going hunting in the mountains? We dont have to use the same tools, maybe you could bring a knife yourself. or something... If you want to that is..." Skye murmured from her spot. "I mean, there is a mountain nearby. But I think it would be too cold. Somewhere warmer would work better." Skye continued to mumble. "Are you really alright with it...? Do you not mind me talking about hunting?" She asked softly with eyes that looked eerily like a puppies.
@Skye "Okay, that sounds fine to me. You don't have to tell me them all at once, as long as I get to hear them. You make it so interesting... My life isn't as interesting." Jae chuckled softly and nodded at her, watching her again as she settled in front of him.
As Jae listened to the story, he leaned forward, his head resting on top of his hands as he was very interested in it. He thought that it was smart of Skye to think of using antlers as weapons and it was interesting how she made them. Even as she was talking about how she went hunting for the first time, Jae didn't feel queasy or anything like that. "That was a really amazing story. I can't wait to hear more about it, Skye."
When she was disappointed in herself for talking about hunting towards Jae, he shook his head. "It's alright. It was really interesting and entertaining for me to hear. I've never went hunting before, but I understand it and don't feel queasy about it." Seeing her crawl into the pillow fort and bury herself in the pillows, Jae laughed softly and took the pillows off of her, "Don't be upset, it's alright, Skye."
@Jae "Little Skye dragged the body back to where her Mother Jaguar was napping and when Little Skye arrived, Mother Jaguar had lazily opened her eye and perked up seeing the deer Little Skye had hunted. Mother Jaguar purred in approval and she dragged the body up their tree. With the last kill Mother Jaguar had made was just about to run out, Little Skye had successfully hunted down a deer, by herself. Mother Jaguar could not have been any more pleased. She spent the next while and nuzzling little Skye in all of her affection. Little Skye had a new problem now, how was she supposed to carry these weapons around." Skye finished with a grin and sighed wistfully at the fond memory. Even now, Skye could feel the pride she had when her Mother Jaguar saw the kill that little Skye had made. The Look of approval and all the affection that came afterward was addicting.
It was then when Skye realized what that story had and gasped. "Oh my. I should have warned you if you were queasy about hunting. Some humans dont like hunting for their food....and I assume the talk of hunting wont sit well with them......how inconsiderate of me." Skye physically deflated and actually looked really disappointed with herself. "I really should have asked if you were okay with it..." She mumbled and crawled into the pillow fort, next to Jae and proceeded to bury herself in the pillows.
