An Abandoned Building

an abandoned building
Places like these are a common sight in Toshima, littering not just the suburbs, but also the city centre as well as the ceasefire zone. Are they truly abandoned? ..Well.. come and find out.

@minpha -the executioner- He stood on guard for a brief period of time, one minute at most, but that minute felt like ten times longer. Mark’s eyes were focused on the small gap of the half opened door, and his ears grasped every slight grinding sound of the old building. In the midst of the cracking noise he was used to hear all the time, probably caused by the innumerous rats that inhabited the place, another sound could be heard. It was definitely a person, murmuring. At first, the swordsman thought that maybe they were talking to someone else, planning something, but then he noticed that there was only one voice. Crying? That was really unexpected, and Mark left a slight chuckle feeling idiot for being on guard for someone who was crying. He didn’t know there was that kind of weakling in Toshima, the place in the world where you had to be the strongest physically and mentally.
Still with his katana in hands, he followed to the room next door, where the unknown person was supposed to be, his sadistic side becoming more intense as the cries became louder and more discernible with the proximity. There was nothing in the Universe that he enjoyed more than feeling powerful, and viewing suffering was an effective way of doing so. Mark had grown immune to sadness, witnessing horrible things since he was in the womb of his mother, who he only met as a newborn and didn’t even have a photo of to be able to cherish and miss her. When he saw someone else suffering, he became almost megalomaniac, since he knew he would never come across such bad feelings that normal human beings had.
Mark opened the door to the room with a grin on his face, ready to play with whoever was there. But, as he caught a glimpse of the crying figure, his smile faded right away. The person standing there was someone he knew very well, even though they had never talked to each other. That silver long hair could belong to no one but Minpha, the executioner, one of the most famous people in Toshima. Seeing someone who was feared by almost every player in the city cry was totally unexpected, and the swordsman couldn’t help hesitating before stepping inside the room. Observing better, Mark noticed that the other wasn’t wearing his usual mask and was covered in blood, what just increased his surprise and made him curious. Wielding his katana, he finally entered the apartment, walking loudly to call the attention of the executioner. “What the hell are you doing here?”, he asked in a serious, firm tone. There was a chance that Minpha was after Mark, because he was the only one living there. If that was the case, he was ready to fight fearlessly.

@mark tuan Curled up in the corner of a dingy, abandoned apartment was a teenager of Asian descent. He was wearing clothes soaked in now brown, dried up blood and the male himself also looked like he could use some cleaning up. He was sitting up against a wall, his knees hugged to his chest as big, fat tears streamed down his pale cheeks. At first sight one would assume that he was severely wounded, but if one looked a little closer.. the pattern of blood stains was unnatural, that blood wasn't his own. That opened suspicion to another theory: he had lost someone close to him and was crying because of that. It certainly explained the blood. There was just one problem.. the male looked like the executioner Minpha. He had the same long hair and was wearing the same clothes, but he didn't have the facemask the executioner always sported. Unless the manager had died, there was no way Minpha would be curling up in a corner of a random building, bawling.

Ai rocked back and forth, his arms still clinging to his knees, drawing his legs in close to his torso. His cheeks were completely soaked with tears, leaving faint lines in the blood on his skin and he was muttering something. His tone was so soft the words were incomprehensible, but the distraught, heart-broken expression on his face made it clear it was just an emotional ramble. His eyes were ripped wide open and red, his head tilted to the side slightly so his long, silver hair spilled over one shoulder. Ai had awoken just a little while ago when some unfortunate soul had decided it was a good idea to rip Minpha's facemask off in what was originally just a playful brawl, from the executioner's perspective. That playful brawl ended in the others guts spilling out of his abdomen. Ai had been ecstatic about his sudden release and the opportunity to reduce the Toshima population by 1. Mind you he hadn't attacked with Minpha's wakizashi, the blade was stilling hanging at his hip without a spot of blood on it. At the time of his release, Ai had been extremely excited. He had been practically burning with the desire to decimate more people, but the lack of victims in the vicinity had thrown him into depression. It seemed the presence of the executioner had made it's way around, leading it's consequent evacuation. Extremely "hurt" by being abandoned by his victims, Ai had crawled into a nice, dark place. So here he was, crying his eyes out. And he certainly wasn't paying any attention to keeping down the noise.

//could you have Mark enter the room? I'll have Ai attack you, when I find the right moment :D//

@minpha -the executioner- Mark was in his hideout, on the last floor of one of the multiple abandoned buildings in Toshima, that looked the same so destructed they were. There weren’t many things there, basically only an old mattress that he happened to find in one of the apartments and a broken wardrobe where he hid solids and personal items. Every time the swordsman left the room, he tried to keep his belongings out of sight, not to call the attention of any unrequested guests. Definitely, the most important thing in the world for Mark was his katana, which he wouldn’t let go even when sleeping, to be able to counterattack quickly if any mishaps happened. He had it for years and felt like it was already a part of his own body, probably the main reason for his ability handling it.
While Mark was cleaning the blade of his sword and checking whether it was cutting well, he heard a sound nearby, probably in the apartment next door. The man stopped everything he was doing to try to hear it better and, in a slow pace, approached the door with his katana in hands, ready to attack if necessary.
