@Seo Kangjoon being treated like a sack of potato didn't help at all with solving their current problem which were an error of the lift. as mark was pushed, he landed at one of the metal walls, holding all the files close to his chest, preventing them from falling on the dirty floor. on which tuan sat down a minute later when kangjoon finished his conversation with someone who was supposed to help them, at least that was what young accountant could come up with. sighing, he placed all the files at the floor next to himself, stretching his lean legs out in a tiny despair.
of course he had work to do. part of it was resting by his thighs, waiting for some collaboration with the software in his computer. however, it seemed like break was calling him earlier that day. tho he must admit, he didn't like the idea of break spent in the four walls of elevator.
" happens", he mumbled, closing his eyes for a short moment when his head fell back, bumping against the cool surface. "do you mind, if i eat my lunch before paying for it?"
@Mark Tuan Kangjoon set down his helmet and the bag, then ran his hand through his hair as he tried to think of something that would work. He watched Mark press the same buttons he pressed, knew they would work at all, but didn't bother to bring that to his attention. He eyed the buttons again, before they fell to the red emergency button and the speaker next to it. Thank God. They could phone for help. He pushed Mark out the way and pressed the button. It took a few seconds, before someone answered it. "This is the help desk." "Yeah, hi, we're stuck in the elevator." Silence for awhile, before the man on the other end came back. "Which floor are you stuck on exactly?" Kangjoon looked up at the red numbers. "We're on the seventh floor." Silence, then. "Okay, help is on the way, but they won't be here for another two hours. The last time this happened it took a total of six to get it working again." Great. Six hours in a box. Fan-ing-tastic. "Guess we're stuck together for the next few hours. Hope you didn't have anything important to do today." Kangjoon pulled out his cellphone and called his boss, telling him the situation. No more runs for him today.
@Seo Kangjoon it would be a huge lie, if mark said he wasn't already thinking about the crispy chicken which was waiting for his jaws to smash it, giving him a pure food (but not really, he found different meals more pleasurable to his big stomach). but of course he couldn't be that lucky that day. when the elevator stopped in place, after a series of disturbing noises, mark blinked, not being sure what was happening. suddenly his heart was in his throat. was it too late to pray? the young accountant didn't really like the idea of falling down from a fourth floor in a ing metal can. his imagination didn't draw a nice picture for him.
"for the loving god", he mumbled under his nose, squeezing the files between his own body and the wall. just like it could somehow work, mark pressed once more the same buttons as kangjoon did. of course, with no result. "why aren't here more buttons?", he added, reaching to the inner pocket of his jacket, only to find out he didn't have his phone with himself. "ing hell. well, we just have to wait till someone notice the elevator isn't working."
@Mark Tuan Kangjoon shrugged. Pay in the elevator or at the office doesn't matter to him. As long as he got paid, so he can continue on with the other deliveries he had today. In the man's hands were files that looked like they weighed heavier than him. Should he offer to carry them or keep the bag with the food in it? Hmmm. He didn't get much time to decide when the elevator stopped all of a sudden. He looked at the numbers lit up above the door. They were two floors down from the Mark's office. He expected the doors to open, but they didn't. "What the hell?" He pushed the button to their floor again, but nothing happened. When he pushed the open door button it didn't budge. "Are we stuck?" He really hopes they're not stuck. He doesn't like small spaces. Not necessarily a fear and he's not claustrophobic, but close quarters reminds him of prison and he doesn't like remember prison sometimes. Today was one of those times.
@Seo Kangjoon since mark has never been someone who craves companion, who wanted to fill every empty spot with a short nice conversation which could kill his time more efficiently, it would be more expected from him to mercilessly let the door close, leaving the other man waiting till the elevator was available once more. however, tuan was nice enough to sometime push himself into uncomfortable situations what he could regret in the minute or seconds while it lasted. this time was different, somehow, because the unknown man was actually someone mark knew, or at least was familiar with.
"oh hi", he greeted the latter with a smile, fixing all the files he had in his arms, feeling his they slowly were sliding off his hands. they were exactly as heavy as they looked to be. "that's not a problem. it only means earlier break", he added, chuckling shortly at his own remark, which wasn't that funny but who said mark's sense of humour was the best quality you could ever experience. "i don't have my money on me now, so come with me to my office."
@Mark Tuan [H] Kangjoon hasn't had a break all day. From the time he started working this morning it's been non-stop deliveries. Not that he minds. The more he keeps himself busy the less time he has to get himself into trouble. He's delivered everything from suits to diapers to movies. Anything and everything anyone needs he's done it today and it's only been four hours into his shift. At 11:30 he got the usual call like clock work to pick up food from this cafe across town. He's not sure if he always gets this particular order because he's always available at the time or if the man he delivers to requests him by name after becoming familiar. Doesn't matter to him. The guy's nice enough. Once he picked up the food he drove up the street to the office building and parked out front. The security guard didn't bother to check his ID. The man's used him coming at the same time during the week. The elevator doors where just about to close, but someone inside held it open for him. It was the same man he always delivers to with his full of papers. "Wow, fancy meeting you here." He smirked 'cause that's as close to a smile as he's going to get. He checked his watch. Five minutes, until he's supposed to deliver. "I'm early today. Hope you don't mind." Not that he cares.
@Seo Kangjoon another day at work wasn't something what gave him headaches, quite the opposite - mark loved his job, all the documents he was pressed with, all the small mistakes he made and had to find them to get the final results of his work correct. yes, sometimes it was pretty annoying, draining him from energy to function. despite being relatively new worker in the company, despite barely graduating university, tuan had it quite easy there, being everyone's little baby, the team's maknae. drinking the very last sip of his coffee that day, he placed the empty mug down, quickly picking the telephone which suddenly started to ring. it was one of his co-workers who let them know about documents waiting for him. sighing, tuan saved all his work at the computer, just in case something went wrong during his absence, and lifted his body up, heading towards the elevator what would take him to one of the upper floors, where the mentioned co-worker had her small room. it took him less than five minutes to be back into the same elevator, however, now, he had his arms full of files, chock-a-block with papers, each of them looked like they were ready to explode if any innocent soul made a huge mistake to simply brush it. the door was slowly closing, then mark's eyes noticed a figure, clearly running towards the elevator. he didn't waste the time, pressing one of the buttons to hold the elevator for a moment longer.
