Alpha's Den

@♞α。Oh Sehun Jongdae followed the other's gaze to the soft skies above, no moon to be shown behind the clouds and stars always drowned by the city lights. Indeed it was true, and he had to admit it out loud. "I agree. I considered it a weakness to consider it a pain," he confessed before watching Sehun's fingers fold together so calmly. He talked abour feeling so casually now and Jongdae's eyes fell to thw floor. Feelings... we're such funny things. He was just scratching the surface of his thoughts with Sehun now. He didn't know if he really could open up about such things yet, but Sehun's promise of the future had him muttering a soft "And I'll try to change it as well," in promise under his breath.

Glancing back up at Sehun, the beta squirmed in his seat to reposition himself and get comfortable once again. He about fell out of said seat in his surprise though. Here the alpha was talking about /him/ being /the/ beta- the second in command now. "Alpha-" he wheezed out showing his shock audibly. "I just- are you sure? Are you teasing me right now? Why would- I've never even been in a pack before. I don't know how all this truly works. I just told you I was an orphaned little street rat and now you want me to- to take care of everyone with you? I don't know how to lead anyone but myself," Jongdae tried to defend but he paused in a moment of thought. Sehun was actually appreciating his effort of trying already maybe? He maybe thought he had the potential with this pack to actually get them through some things in life. That had the beta a little flattered that for the first time, someone might have actually cared about him. Whether it was him, or his talent, he wasn't sure, but it was a part of him nonetheless.

Then the rest of the words clicked into place like puzzle pieces falling together. Sehun had said physically... and his heart... and... "Everything?" Jongdae whispered under his breath, jaw slightly trembling. Now if he had felt fear with Sehun before, it was nothing compared to now. His palms had begun to sweat, his heart began to race, but it was his eyes that gave it away the most, once again in search of that escape.

Sehun caught him by the chin and the beta yelped as he was forced to look at his alpha in the eye. Panting slightly through his nose, he carefully tried to nod his head to let the other know he was heard and never broke that gaze again, not even when the other leaned in and kissed his cheek. Jongdae's breath stuttered a little as the thoughts rocketed through his head. What would happen if he said no? Would he get kicked out of the pack? Would another pack even be willing to take him in should he be? Would he even be able to survive alone now that he's had a taste of something good? Even if he was at a distance, it was such a comfort to have people /around/ that he could talk to once he gathered the nerve.

The thought of losing that after just getting brave enough to make it even this far had honestly broken the beta's heart. So with that in mind, he slowly scooted out of his chair, making no sudden movements towards Sehun that would cause the alpha to take him as a threat. Cautious and obedient, he kept his eyes locked with his leader as he slowly sank to the ground on his knees and tilted his head to the side to bare his neck in submission. His nails scraped at the denim of the jeans hugging his thighs as he balled his hands up nervously into fists. "Yes alpha... I- I will trust you," he stuttered out for the first time ever throwing his loyalty away from himself and mentally praying to whatever diety out there that this would turn out okay. This wasn't giving up after all... this was fighting for what he wanted, even if it was with himself.

@♞β。Kim Jongdae listening was one of sehun's best trait. he knew that in order to gain anyone's trust, listening to their words and hear their cry for help would give him a hint of what the best action to take. jongdae and himself had a few similarities but at the same time they were still different. if two roads were presented in front of them, they would most likely take the path the other would choose. yet, sehun nodded at jongdae's words, agreeing with him. "alone. that is the biggest fear men and wolves have." the man started to speak as his eyes darted up to the sky, looking at the clouds above them slowly moving as time flow by their physical beens. "have you realized, we as man kind and as wolves are made to be pack animals? so, being left alone basically is our kryptonite. do you agree, jongdae?" the man continued to speak as his hands laced against each other. "i have discovered that even when you are within a group of people, even if you try to cover the fact that you are not alone, it still doesn't change what we are feeling on the inside." perhaps, now, the alpha was speaking from his own past experiences. "i can't change what had happened to you prior to us meet, but i can change the future." he wasn't joking. he believe that 140 percent. he would put himself out there to protect his men.

"like i said before." as words came out of sehun's mouth, his eyes darted over to the other man. "i'm glad that jongup had taken you in. you seem like a fine young man that will be a great lead to our pack. you know that a beta is the alpha's trusted right hand man. i need to know.. emphasize on the need, if i can trust you with my mind, heart, physical been and more." his words pierced out of sehun's mouth, he wanted a firm answer from the other man. "by answering that, you need to give me everything of yours." some might think sehun was mad. maybe he was. that was just how he is.

as jongdae's face pulled away from the other's hold, sehun's hand gripped onto the other's chin once again, lifting it up by force to make the man stare at him. "don't you look away from me." he considered that a weakness. "you are not allow to look away from my eyes unless i have said so. do you hear me?" the alpha's eyes turned grey, this time lasting a little longer. the man leaned forward, his lips pressed upon jongdae's defined cheekbone before words escaped sehun's mouth. "give me the answer that i want to hear. jongdae.."

@♞α。Oh Sehun Jongdae pursed his lips in a moment of thought over how to answer such a question. Hell, what was he doing? "Other than struggling and stealing to survive... not much. I would hear the packs at night when they went on runs and it just made my own wolf ache for that too. I considered it a weakness, that attachment, but I gave into it a little now anyways. Being alone forever... It doesn't sound so good. So, that's when I started watching the packs. That's when I found Jongup and sneaked into his bedroom in this very building once I'd decided. He let me in without question since I had made it this far without getting caught. Could have killed him in his sleep, he acknowledged, yet, here we all are." That's when Sehun brought up his family. Shrinking back in his seat slightly and wringing his hands together, he watched at the digits anxiously, his palms sweating slightly at the thought of his own. "I don't remember them much. I was young when they just... left me. I never knew why, what was so wrong with me I mean. Maybe they didn't want a beta for a son? Maybe they thought I'd just be another mouth to feed? Maybe I was just better off on the streets learning on my own than with them? I'm not sure, but I never want to get attached... just to be left alone again," Jongdae confessed. When had he ever actually spoken to this to someone out loud? When had he ever gotten that ache off of his chest? Now that he thought about it, never. It felt so raw... exposing and once more, he didn't know how to feel or about this wolf. He didn't know why he was telling him the truth like this now either. Was he really that desperate?

Yes. Yes he was.

"I know," the brunette mumbled softly. "Life is funny like that. You just have to fight with it while you can or give up. There's no in between and it but it's the truth. I'm glad you're one wanting to fight though. I'm glad... I'm not alone anymore," Jongdae confessed offering a hint of a genuine smile right back, nothing he was playing at and nothing he was hiding there for once.

It was just as quick to fall though. Sehun touched him once more and he knew he was caught indeed. The beta heaved out a sigh, laced with the tiniest snarl of frustration in the back of his throat. "That attachment again. I don't want to be close to another. I don't want to fall and lose them. I don't want to risk anything. I don't want to give up myself, my loyalty to myself that easily. What's the point of me being a scout if I do such a thing and become a betrayor because of following such an action?" He hissed out pulling his face away from Sehun's touch in a hurry.

@♞β。Kim Jongdae was he lowering his guard? no. sehun couldn't think back to the last time he had gone to a place without his suspicious being heighten by his surrounding. as they started to make their way away from the office, they kept quiet. in all honesty, sehun can't pin point certain things. things such as the hobbies that he like, people that he would be attracted to. everything was a game to sehun. was it something he regret? no, absolutely not. but it would be nice to have a little bit of humanity back. sehun's eyes turn to the side to stare at the other man. perhaps, sehun could ask some more personal questions. "tell me, jongdae. you said you were rogue, what were you doing before you joined?" when the man waited for an answer, he started to think through their silence before speaking out loud once again. "i wasn't always been in the position i was in. i wasn't born from a dad who was the alpha of the pack. my dad was barely a servant and my mom was hauled by the pack we were with when i was younger. i just had to .. change after my dad was taken away for being 'weak'. and now, i know, the world is just a dog eat dog world." the man confessed a little about himself before chewing on his lower lip before letting out a soft sigh. perhaps, he shouldn't have done that. he was exposing a little bit of himself and that was something another could take an advantage of him. but, in order for him to have a pack of trusting men, this might be a must.

"i can't promise a lot, jongdae. because we do not know what the future holds. i don't know if our pack will survive. i don't know if i will be around to be alpha tomorrow, i don't know if you will be around. but i can say one thing. i will try my best to protect all our men. every one of them. okay?" sehun admired that jongup had that impact on the wolves. in a way where he gave them a chance to believe in something again. sehun showed a slight smile to jongdae before sliding his palm over to caress jongdae's cheek gently before giving him a gentle pinch. "hmm. but, hmm. i do still need to know about you. tell me more. tell me why you haven't lied with another in so long..." the man said as he narrowed his brows at the beta. his eyes traced every single pour and outline of the other's facial features. "i'm waiting, for an answer dear.."

@♞α。Oh Sehun Jongdae was good with the manipulating usually. He could make someone believe he was their sweetest dream or a sudden nightmare at the drop of a pen. It was just the actual dealing with people he was supposed to get to know and such. How did one let their guard down any when it has been high for so long? He almost wanted to ask Sehun that same question when he explained they had been in similar situations in the past. Who knows. Maybe they had stolen food from each other on the streets. They had to do what was necessary to survive though. Sehun couldn't have been too much older or younger than him since they looked around the same age. It kind of felt... nice? It for them of course, he knew all too well, but that sense that he wasn't alone after all and someone knew where he was coming from felt a little enlightening.

Jongdae was then being told to come with the alpha else where and the beta gave a nervous little gulp. Had the leader taken his bait or was he in trouble for the wolf catching onto his bluff? Following along, his observant gaze continued to flick around on the new passage ways he'd never seen before, always looking for an escape route. Even in the elevator, he eyed the ceiling looking for the panels over head's weakest points.

Upon arriving at the rooftop, he was rather surprised at how comfortable it looked. There was a slight nip of a chill in the air, but nothing to be concerned of as he curled up in the chair and kept himself warm after he was invited to do as such. "You bet your I'd say that," Jongdae confessed with a little laugh before pausing at the last statement, his face looking a little crestfallen. If he was a scout... wouldn't his loyalty always be questioned? Eyes flicking down at the ground for a moment as that thought clicked through his mind, they were quick to snap back up to meet Sehun's with sincerity. "They used to lie with myself since I had no one. Jongup... He let me have a bit of hope again for someone, something here. Because of that, my loyalties lie with the pack. I don't know them. I don't know you, but you guys... are going to help me find that something one day and I'm going to do what I can to help this pack in the meantime."

@♞β。Kim Jongdae the way the other was speaking to sehun soothed him. it was quite weird, it was a feeling that sehun had barely felt. the man sat there as he let his digits tapped against the oak wood table. sehun would think about the words jongdae had spoken before nodding. it was clever what he had done just like the beta, sehun had used to been a lone wolf. running around and salvaging whoever was left behind as he grew in power. instead of staying away people to avoid feelings, sehun used those feelings that people would have and manipulate them into his own liking. sehun chuckled as he realize how funny it was at their differences, nodding. "i see. well, jongdae. you and i are quite similar. i was always by myself ever since a young age. i learned that survival is my biggest bet. but i recently learned that trust is even more important." sehun nods before stepping up from his chair. "let's go, jongdae. let me take you somewhere." sehun started to walkout of his office and heads towards the elevator near the room. he held the door open for jongdae before putting his hands within his pockets and waits for the elevator to take them to their destination.

as the elevator stops at the roof top, sehun walked out and led the beta towards a large seating area. "take a seat jongdae. and let's talk. jongup told me that i should gain the trust of my own pack in order to be able to lead attacks and other plans. tell me. do you think i'm someone that you could trust?" sehun asked, crossing his legs. "of course, you'd say no. because you barely know who i am. let's get to know each other. at the same time, i need to where your loyalty lie."

@♞α。Oh Sehun Jongdae couldn't help but wrinkle his nose at the smell of the cigarette being squished out into ash. The smell of them had always irked his senses at least a little. Maybe it was because the city had always such strong pollution but out here the air was at least a bit clearer. The smell of the alcohol at least dulled it, the smell bittersweet and strong. A little tilt of his head was given and an innocent gaze from under his lashes. "I'm only adorable as you want me to be alpha," he teased before switching away from such a facade effortlessly. His eyes lingered on the drink for a moment more before flicking them back up to the new leader. This wasn't the man that had welcomed him without question. He was much more calculating, almost cold, yet there seemed to be a warmth about him that could be soothing enough to chase away that same cold. Jongdae couldn't quite get a good read on him and the scout didn't know how to feel about that either. The alpha got up and laid a hand against him and the young man's eyes instantly flicked down to it, unsure of such contact. Was it supposed to be a threat or a comfort? For the first time since he was abandoned he felt something he didnt like either... the tiniest spark of fear. Yet, there was a rather large amount of respect from the brunette that Sehun was able to do such a thing and have such power rolling off of him. This wolf, now he was going to lead them to great places. Maybe he had picked right after all.

The dark brown, soft eyes met the lighter gray and the beta's little search began, but still nothing. The pat jostled his smaller frame slightly and he gave a soft little grunt at the impact before looking up at the alpha in a bit of confusion as he told him to loosen up and took his seat back. Jongdae leaned back in his seat in a moment of silence knowing there had to be something more at least. Then there it was.

The beta gave a little chuckle this time around. He damned well knew what Sehun was getting at. He knew the other was trying to jab at what he knew was his weakest point and to pry for that information, but he wasn't getting it easily, damnit. Jongdae gave a soft smile before shrugging and playing the question off. "You see, this pack thing is new to me. I'm trying to get along and do things with people here, honest I am. I'm just not that open about it yet I suppose seeing as I've been alone most my life. I intended to join this place and make it my home. I want to grow to trust it, know it has my back as much as I have theirs, but that just takes time doesn't it?"

@♞β。Kim Jongdae once the other dark haired man walked into his line of sight, sehun opened his eyes before turning his chair around to face the other man. he had a drink in hand as his other hand pulled away the cigarette that was hanging on his lip before putting it out, smirking at the other man. "is that so? aren't you just the adorable spy.. doing your job right." sehun tapped his finger against the rim of his drink before looking down at his brown liquor. "your information was right. i am indeed looking for the weakest link and see how we might need to change that.." sehun stood up from his seat before stepping closer to jongdae's chair. the alpha pressed his hand against the other's shoulder. "and what would you say about yourself huh? are you the weakest?"

sehun's eyes locked down with the boy's eyes before showing his light gray colored eyes. it was brief, chuckling before patting the other's back then sat back down to his seat. "now, i'm just joking. loosen up." sehun finished his drink then spoke once again. "i do know something about you jongdae. little birdies told me that you had never done anything with anyone.. and why is that, jongdae?" he raised his brows, tapping his hand against the desk softly, demanding for answers.

@♞α。Oh Sehun Jongdae had been lolligagging around the pack grounds in all honesty. There was nothing in particular he was supposed to be doing today since he didnt have any assignments, so he figured he'd take the time to try to get to know some of his packmate's, but the actual talking and getting to know was what he wasn't so good at. Jongdae had ended up going right back to his usual routine of spying and watching from afar.

That's when he was apparently summoned by the new alpha. Curiosity piqued his interest as he followed after whoever it was that had sent him before slipping into the den that was occupied by another not so long ago. "Just Jongdae is fine," he mused with a smile curling at the corner of his lips. He obeyed taking a seat though and peered through the fringe of his bangs. The beta then started idly picking at his nails before giving a little hum of acknowledgement. "I've heard. I've heard a lot of things though, Sehun. Like how you've been checking on the other pack members... trying to find your weakest link I suppose. I can assure you it won't be me at least," Jongdae promised before sitting upright and crossing his legs from where he had been slouching a bit before, looking as if he were in a relaxed negotiation now.

@♞β。Kim Jongdae he sat there, tapping his finger against the table as he his lower lip. having his cigarette hanging against the corner of his lip as he huffed a gentle puff. the man then reached for his phone, his lower lip before speaking once again. "send him in." it was normal, for a newly pronounced alpha to get to know his men that he had not gotten a chance to meet yet. he had been so focused with the other packs, he wanted to take some time, wanting to check where the loyalty lie from his own pack. sehun waited for the door to open, and once it had, his eyes kept locked to the other man. "hello, kim jongdae. i don't know if you've heard, but i have taken over.. my name is sehun. nice to meet you. sit, please."
