@♥ taeil m。 not everyone would be able to withstand what he had managed to go through, but many had escaped because they could, but he had never received that glim of light that allowed him to leave the situation, instead the darkness swallowed him and trapped him in this exact place. throughout his life time he had met many males and sometimes females that had fallen into the industry, and many of them had managed to escape - speaking to other members of the industry was strictly forbidden and therefore he constantly stayed in his room listening to the sounds of others suffering in the manner that he did.
being the clingy person, he was, he allowed himself to attach to anything that showed him the faintest amount of attention, and of course this allowed his imagination to consume him - in the hope that somewhere in the future someone would wake him up from the never ending and painful dream that he was trapped within.
the proposal caught him off guard, he hadn't expected to be invited out, but he couldn't deny that he wasn't happy. he nodded at the other early before saying, "i would really like that."
he looked down at his hands for a couple of minutes, allowing different sentence starters to overflow his mind. did he really have an escape plan? he attempted so many times, and yet each time he was back here not because he wanted to but because of two simple factors – first being the fact that the outside world seemed like it was something that he was unable to handle and second he craved for attention that the outside couldn't fulfil - his situation was a double edge sword, either way he went he was trapped.
"the first day we met i.. i was actually escaping but.. that didn’t work out," he confessed honestly. the day he met the other he was truthfully trying to escape the horrors he had experienced that day, he had wondered around that event so many times that night just trying to reassure himself that he would succeed however he did not because that exact night he ended up going back to the whorehouse, but he couldn't say his day went horribly wrong because he had managed to meet taeil, the male that made his day a little bit brighter every single day.
he hadn't planned any escape ideas because all seemed to end in the same manner, and well he was just going to accept the fact that he was meant to live in the forbidden place and that his life consisted of these walls that he was trapped within - although it hurt him to believe in such things. either way, even if he did think of a manner of escaping, the owners would make sure that he wouldn't leave this time because they had bombarded him with an endless list of clients even to the most repulsive ones - so he guessed that he was stuck here for a very long time perhaps until he died.
"i.. i haven't thought of anything recently", he admitted honestly, picking up a dumpling and placing it in his mouth before lifting himself up from the chair using his hands to collect his bearings before sliding himself across the bedroom to the ensuite bathroom to look for the other.
@♡ hyojong k。 Taeil smiled faintly, leaving on for the human to believe there was more to him but he wouldn't speak of it yet although at some point he'd have to convince the human in becoming a /baby/.
He wouldn't lie if asked: the fallen angel was fond of how easily embarrassed Hyojong was. It usually told how easily he'd flatter a human and possibly get in his head. If the human was this embarrassed to let him know how he felt about him, then Taeil would have to put his finger on it obviously. "Oh-oh... that's half a confession here and this is only our second date. Keep this going and I will expect more confession on our third date." He winked and went back to eating the meals, feeling like Hyojong was maybe not ready to tackle this topic about himself.
It was enough for Taeil to know Hyojong hadn't risked anything outside, closing himself to what he was forced into and he supposed the other didn't have friends outside of it. Of course Hyojong would only feel trapped if he had no idea what was outside but giving that knowledge to the other was not necessarily in his advantage, Taeil knew it. He had to court Hyojong and find out what the human really wanted.
"You know, not just anyone could hold into this situation for that long." Needless to say Hyojong was certainly stronger than he thought he was. It did not mean the human was supposed to stay in that crappy place forever, but Taeil would not be that savior to rip him from that world, simply because the human had been depending on the motel tenants for years and he'd have to grow from it himself. Doing all the work for him would put Hyojong on the street the moment Taeil’s attention would shift.
“Well, let's meet outside. Daily or on the weekends only if you can. You could use some fresh air with little Tae and I may find time to look after you in the world and make sure you're not brushing your hair with a fork or something.”
He realised a little late that the pop reference would not mean much to Hyojong but it did to him. The other had been living in a tiny dark room and going out more should wake him up. A warm bath could as well. Taeil cleaned his hands when the smell became far too distracting from the meal and he got up.
“You may keep eating all you need. I can fill your bathtub in the meantime. But do tell me about your escape plan, we all have one afterall. What is it you want to do?”
He said and stretched, tilting his head back before he went to the bathroom, leaving the door open for their conversation.
@♥ taeil m。 "i'm not really good with humour -- i haven't been in many social situations to know how to be funny,", he chuckled at his own words, not really finding anything funny but it acted as a filler for the awkwardness - the only comical thing was his life, and how easily people were able to use him to satisfy their needs.
"i.. i guess we're kinda similar when it comes to hiding things about our lives."
it was interesting to find out information about the other, and he could only smile widely at the way they were both digging deeper into each other’s life and it felt good to know more about someone - it was good to interact with a /real person/ that wasn't interested in the business that he offered. "i.. i kinda like that about you, taeil.", he said confidently but when realisation about his words hit, he immediately retracted them and waved his hands across his face, a small fade of blush formulating on his cheeks - the underlying innocence peeking through.
the questions about his life just kept on coming, and honestly his nervousness was turning into nauseousness. the depths of his character slowly being unravelled and being brought to light, when all this time he had attempted to discard and forget about this part of his life.
hyojong being only a couple of years old had lost his parents to a car crash - he was abandoned by the rest of his family, no one willing to take the little poor boy into their custody because of financial problems and therefore was brought by evil people that used his facial characteristics to profit from it. being the magnetically angelic boy with the perfect features, profits bloomed at a consistent rate, and the owners knew that they had hit the jackpot with the young boy - they used his naivety and innocence to gain their greedy needs not that he minded at the time because ever since his parents died, he craved attention to replace the empty space that they had left behind.
however, as he grew older, he began to be more rebellious obviously wanting to explore his surroundings and experience new things - this was an alert for the owners - afraid that this would result in a loss of funds and therefore forbidden him from social activities and deprived him from education. but even so he managed to escape but once found, he was treated to punishment which subjected him to losing his ity to the highest bidder, and due to the price that people were willing to pay - the owners didn't bat an eye to the profits and chained him to the line of work.
throughout his life he had been living like a piece of meat, more specifically cattle so how was he supposed to go into a world that he didn't know anything about? how was he supposed to live? he couldn't so he just tormented himself with the endless pain.
retracing his childhood past, always made him feel insignificant, he sometimes wished that he could go back to those memories, and experience that type of happiness that he could no longer feel no matter how hard he tried. the fairy-tale that he once lived with his parents was gone, and well he sometimes wished that he had been there on the day of the crash to go to heaven along with them, but instead he was here living his life in pure hell but, yet his little heart never gave out.
"i.. i've been here since a little boy - i don't know what's life outside of these walls.", he said simply before adding "i get basic necessities here even though it's not all the time - it's enough to keep me going, sleep, and food", he gestured to the meddled bed and then to the food in front of him before speaking. "it's a lot better than sleeping on the streets, trust me i tried that," he said letting out a snarky snort as if his life was almost comical.
he turned his gaze to the male in front of him, smiling gently before leaning in closer to take another piece of the food, holding onto the small fabric tightly, making sure to not lift his bottom from the chair as the substances slowly slide from his legs and stained the chair but even with the uncomfortable situation he forcefully ignored it.
@♡ hyojong k。 So the shame was behind, Taeil was glad he had inspired enough trust to distract Hyojong. Still, silence was dense, filled with the thoughts Hyojong seemed to keep to himself, filter so extremely only fear seemed to fraily appear on his face.
The Fallen Angel could have made small chitchat like he had on the day they met, he could easily set a brighter mood by avoiding personal matters, but if this was a proper date, then he’d have to strike some topic off the list, no matter how uneasy it seemed to make Hyojong.
He, on the other hand, only shrugged when the human stated he wouldn’t introduce himself by speaking of his job. “Some would slide one of those dark jokes to warn their entourage or simply to protect themselves from secrets becoming too overbearing...” he commented, knowing humor was one way to be honest at all costs. It signalled him Hyojong would have maybe struggled to hide a part of his life for as long as possible. It also meant Hyojong wasn’t okay with his job, most likely stuck into it.
“You could have been okay with this and it wouldn’t have mattered to me. You’re still my lucky pick in the crowd.”
Taeil tilted his head and smiled at the human’s words, very fond of this little pinch of honesty.
He did not react to it because it would only embarrass Hyojong further, but Taeil didn’t have any regret about barging in the other’s life. He was the type to take when he wanted, no matter what and his tolerance to sin was of course /wide/.
“Everything about me?” he repeated but still cared more for Hyojong to eat and try everything.
“I’m a lifeguard, I like the sea, hence little Taeil.” It was most of his life, the sea. The storms at sea mostly. He smiled awkwardly. “I think you know that I'd rather pull a stranger in a weird act than show failures to my actual friends. That itself tells more about me than my job.” he chuckled and shrugged, using his chopsticks to try all the food displayed and feeding hyojong, one for his friend, one for him.
“You know I am cocky, you know I am the kind of creep that can track down stranger and barge in whenever I want… I'm just stating the obvious so feel free to ask for whatever you find relevant.”
He wouldn't say how but he did have it his way, whenever he wanted.
Just like he had noticed the very distracting scent of fluids and had chosen to ignore, refusing to keep the human from a well deserved meal. His nose could not be fooled, the strong smells were both enticing and disgusting in extents that made him curious. Curious enough he had to avoid the other's gaze. Something told him Hyojong would let him do anything and that itself would disappoint him so he /had/ to ignore the scent.
“Do you even earn well?” he said, frowning a little. Because Hyojong had the kind of face one would sell at a high price and someone here was getting screwed in way too many ways. “Is it something they have over you? Because your looks belong to fancier places, no matter the type of business.” he said, judging the place only. It was a shame Hyojong certainly had a poor lifestyle in a poor motel. It should be a high end hotel at least. “Doesn't mean people with money won't be freaks at all, but at least you'd get better money. So what is it they have to make you stay?” he asked, setting his chopsticks down, scrutinizing the human.
@♥ taeil m。 in that very moment the world around him was unnecessary and he relied on his senses to grasp that very moment forever, engraving it deep in his mind and cherishing it deeply in his heart having never felt something so genuine that caused his senses to tingle in the manner that they did. the feeling of being enveloped by soft yet protective arms sparked a warm feeling in heart - the depth of the hug acted like a juxtaposition to his constant environment of sin - an innocent act between the mist of sin that laid in the air.
the small affection made him feel special, something that he fantasized about with his clients but he was always reminded of his cruel way of life, when the heat of the client disappeared, and he was left with the cold air hitting his body.
he followed the other, attempting to match his steps towards the table although instead of walking he was definitely hobbling having a mixture of and blood dripping between his legs but he made no effort to inform the other about his problem, definitely not wanting to worry the other about something so minimal. taking a seat by the table, he let out a little gasp upon seeing the different treats in front of him and couldn’t help but close his eyes at the aura, and nearly gurgled at the smell - superbly divine, he wanted to say.
the charade that he attempted to uphold for the longest time was slowly being unravelled by someone that he met almost less than twenty-four hours ago and yet he felt that he was the only person that he could trust, but even with that it scared him that he was allowing someone into his life so quickly. he paused for a couple of minutes, the silence enveloping the room, the only sound that filled the small room was the sound of him gulping in nervousness not really wanting to share too much but he felt obliged to tell the other about his past.
he stumbled across his words several times, his mind unwilling to cooperate to formulate any proper sentences. he looked away from the other, hoping that his nervousness would diminished, and even those efforts went to waste because he was still suffering with nervousness but made an extra attempt to overcome it.
"no... i just didn't want you to find out that this was my full time pro-profession," he said quietly before adding, "i mean was i supposed to say 'hello, my name is hyojong and i'm a full-time e?' -- of course not."
as ion and escorting was a taboo under nearly all cultures, of course, it was no surprise that he definitely wanted to hide this part of himself, and well now that it was being put to light, he just wished that the other wouldn't judge him, which was confirmed by the other’s words and it made him feel a little at ease.
he didn't want to bring the other in on his lifestyle because it was cold and dark, and not something that people should be involved in - he would rather be the only one suffering with this lifestyle, and even though he wanted to push the other way he didn't have the strength to do so because he desperately thrived on the attention the other gave to him, and he couldn't just abandon that.
"i'm.. i'm embarrassed that you even found me like this.", he said tugging at the small robe that covered his small frame.
"but enough about me ... what about you? tell me, everything about you." he said eagerly and made emphasis on the everything, because hyojong was definitely good at dismissing information and making sure that he answered only the question that was asked without adding too much information about his life afraid that unshadowing his past would frighten the other away.
@♡ hyojong k。 Taeil’s head lowered to still see the other’s eyes when he apologized. Shame and guilt were as real as it could get in this world of fake and acts. He did not look for the other’s discomfort but he was glad Hyojong noticed he was different, or at least seeking something much different than all the other guys who certainly walked in that very room this day.
The plushie was the most unexpected part of Hyojong’s room, the softie and cute side that certainly revealed that very same secret part of his personality. It didn’t sit well with the rest of the room, so much Taeil took it as a bait to get the human to talk and open up. He owed him after all, answers would come easier he hoped, arms reaching to pull the human to him, no matter the height difference since he was down on his knees and Hyojong sitting on the bed. All that mattered was to have the other’s shoulder against his, his nose fishing for the human’s scent. He had only lightly perceived it when the other had peck his cheek the day before, just because they were close. Now Taeil needed to take in the other’s scent and remember it, crave it even.
His head turned just enough to nuzzle the other’s earlobe, picking up agrum scents, cemented in a warm and delicate vanilla cover.
“I was before he was and he’s just a replacement” he said, eyeing the plushie in the distance. His smile spreading would be obvious because his cheeks was against the other’s face. This was as possessive as he could get: if with someone, he had to take all their attention. What Hyojong did of his time in his absence however, was his business and Taeil wouldn’t meddle in.
“Little Tae will have to learn to share at times.” he added and let his hand brush the other’s hair, trying to pull apart what agrum Hyojong /was/. He wasn’t best at noticing the tiny details but for a moment he wondered if he had it right at all. He should try some other time.
The moment he pulled away was only to brush the human’s arm, turning on his heels as his hand caught Hyojong’s, tugging him to the table set for their dinner.
“More cuddles later.” He said quietly, rather than actually asking. He pulled the other’s chair and opened all the boxes, because he was the type to buy all he could rather than disappoint and he was yet to learn about what Hyojong preferred food-wise, while Hyojong would become his preference, sapor-wise.
He settled in the other chair and waited for the human to try the dishes, noodles, vegetables, meats and fish, buns, all there was while he’d get even more curious.
“You looked so disappointed earlier, did you wish to be someone else when with me? I mean there’s no rule against it, as I might not show all I am at all times or to anyone,” which in fact he could confirm if he was to be honest. “I mean I wouldn’t mind the roleplay if it makes you feel comfortable, but just so you know, I wouldn’t treat you differently if you were a cashier or a famous singer.” He paused and seized a dumpling. “Actually, I would treat you differently if you were a cashier. Because I’d have to buy stuff all the time to see you at work so to avoid that, I’d provoke you to break you down and once you’d get time off, I’d come in as a balm and certainly get ready to get slapped by you.” It was dumb but he liked the mean hypothesis.
“And if you worked with me, I would drown you.” He grinned, eyes on you.
@♥ taeil m。 the negative ideas about the other diminished from his mind immediately upon hearing the reasoning for his unexpected visit. the warmth generated over his heart once again slowly, and he felt his features soften. he brought his hands to tug at the robe to cover his body, feeling slightly ashamed that he had expected the other to be the same as everyone, and judged him based on his past experiences. it was something that he couldn't help, it was a mechanism that he used to protect himself but instead of doing so he really just pushed others away - it was bad habit.
although, he was glad that the other was here, he was still disappointed because the other had managed to uncover the dark piece of his life that he so desperately hid from others wanting to seem as pure and socially desirable as possible, and well of course escorting and ion was not a particularly proud thing to boast about especially on a first encounter basis. he didn't respond much to the other, instead he just glanced down at his legs bringing them closer together while listening to the other as he attempted to reconcile himself from his behaviour.
he didn't know much about taeil but he definitely enjoyed how the other took certain situations and made them into something positive, and less tense than they actually were - it was something that he admired and wished to see more of because his efforts to make the situation a little less tense was definitely working.
"i'm... i'm sorry for judging you, t-taeil", he made sure to not look at the other while he apologised, instead he looked down at his hands. at this point, an explanation for his situation was inevitable but he definitely wasn't going to miss the opportunity to ask information about the other's personal life because he was also interested, and it only seemed fair.
he smiled lightly at the other, watching as how he kneeled before him and well, being the greedy person, he was, he simply couldn't reject the offer of food. ".. i would like to eat first, i-i haven't eaten all day.", he glanced at the direction of the food that was placed on the side table, working at such a place constantly prevented him from eating, having no time to buy himself food and well the owners made sure of that by bombarding him with as many clients as possible as punishment for his attempt to escape – it was a way to tell him that he couldn’t escape no matter how hard he tried.
the ease that laced from the others voice, made him unexpectedly smile wider than before, the disappointment slowly dispersing, and his charismatic personality slowly peeking through. "i'm.. i'm sorry", he said once again but soon after he added, "i can give a lot of cuddles b-but i think little tae might be.. be upset and jealous," he joked while pointing at the plushie that was by the bedside.
@♥ soonyoung k。 It was after finals where he and his friends decided that to spend the night with drinks and parties. He was dressed in his favorite dress shirt and black pants with his hair up; his normal outfit for parties and whenever he wanted to just let loose. The examination season was a tough one but with its end should be celebrated and Jisoo was looking forward to just getting wasted and forgetting whatever he learned in his lectures during this semester. The party venue was at a different place, a little further from campus but nearer to little Tokyo, a place that Jisoo doesn't frequent often. It wasn't long before Jisoo left the party when everyone was either getting hooked up on everywhere in the area or getting high on drugs. He would never hook up unless he was completely wasted, which he wasn't as they ran out of strong alcohol before he could even get drunk. Tipsy was all he could manage to gain from the cocktails they made him and he wasn't all that game for drugs either. Hence, he decided to venture into little Tokyo.
The bright neon lights and faded music in the karaokes and clubs nearby around him made Jisoo skip in his step once in a while and he felt so light-headed. So happy. One would never have guessed him to be drunk as he was walking perfectly normal, unless they saw him doing little dances then maybe they would assume he had a little bit to drink or was just in an extremely good mood while taking a walk in the wee hours of the day. Walking from one bar to another, he couldn't find one that was to his liking. One either had little music, too loud music, or even music that wasn't his taste. Deciding to just buy himself some alcohol at the convenience store and go back to his dorm room, he was on his way to the closest 7 Eleven or a store that was similar when he bumped into a few large and possibly drunken guys.
When tipsy, his senses heightened and everything either looks beautiful and detailed in his eyes or the smells become stronger and hits his nose straight up. This time, he could smell the stench of the Japanese alcohol and these guys seemed pissed that Jisoo had bumped into them. Lifting him up from the floor and cursing to him in Japanese to which Jisoo had no idea of, he could only flail his arms in order to be released. "Hey buddy, I don't want any trouble! I'm sorry, dude. Um, go-gomenasai?" Jisoo wasn't even sure if the other guy understood him but what was clear, Jisoo may be getting himself beaten up tonight. What a way to end the night.
@♡ hyojong k。 Taeil, predator-like, could feel the presence behind the door, the weight of his hesitation and certainly doubt as to how Taeil could know where he lived. He was the most dangerous predator of all who knocked on that very door, and yet he wasn't in this place for the same treat. He was in for a longer fight.
The mess that presented itself to the Fallen Angel was crude, from the thick scent of sin to the tear stained face of the so pretty human he barely remembered from the eve. He thought he had witnessed disappointment on the human's face the day before, but what he saw now was yet another level of the same feeling. Something closer to rejection, than the usual indifference in the other's eyes. Hyojong had certainly meant to keep his life a secret, paradoxal to wanting a second date.
"Hello" he mirrored the other's enthusiasm but no disappointment on Taeil's face. Not even concern at this point. He fed on the many emotions that crossed the other's face like he had caused them all, like he had made Hyojong the shameful sinner himself. It was peculiar how humans trained themselves into doing the unthinkable and still managed to keep an alterego quiet inside to judge themselves, punishing themselves in regrets and sorrow before the actual divine wrath would hit them.
The moment Hyojong turned his back on him was Taeil's cue to walk in and close the door. He turned to witness large bruise he could have expected and prepared himself for. Instead, he was by the sight of his so-called date's abused body, settling to get yet another roast or whatever could be called when one's body reahed that state.
"My ? I only paid for food, I'd assume you'd cost more than chinese... Although that chinese takeaway is really one of the best in town." he said, deciding to ignore the invitation. This wasn't what he was here for and pity would maybe feel like the next most disgusting reaction after wanting to have a go at the poor spectacle the human was.
"I might be in trouble for coming in without paying?" he asked, amused as he made room on the only table for two in the room. There he settled their meals but kept all boxes closed, knowing they wouldn't be disturbed, not after his eyes had flickered black entirely, inserting fear into the mind of the tenant of this motel.
"Did you really think I'd rely on trust to see you again? I mean, I had to do my researches to be sure I'd see you again, but I only came today because you seemed disappointed yesterday, to be waiting for another week." he explained and opened a window before picking the other's robe. "I'm mostly here for our second date, but also to break ice about all this." he said, pointing at the other's bed, that had to be where most of Hyojong's job was performed. "Wanna eat first? Shower first? I think I should try and help you with those nasty bruises if you have anything to apply."
He had come so close to Hyojong but found himself unable to touch the other at all, not even a pat on his shoulder, not even for the tears that streamed on the other's cheeks. Taeil got down to his knees instead, facing the human. "Or a hug? I think I deserve cuddles for being treated like someone who'd use you after one hell of a day." he added and squinted his eyes at the human. The least he wanted was to make of this day a groundbreaking step in their relationship; they /had/ to move past the sin, because he was made to encourage it, as mean as it would be here.
@♥ taeil m。 hyojong's day consisted of customers that used and abused his body - numerous of times he had clanged onto the bodies, desperately pleading to stop so the pain could subside but all of the clients believed it was nothing more than just an act and used it to satisfy their own hungry need of ual pleasure. as an escapism mechanism, he was forced to imagine no one else but taeil – remembering how they met, and how nice it felt to be pampered, but he was always brought back to reality when the sound of the door closing echoed across the room.
little small whimpered cries left his lips, as the much older male above him, plunged himself into his body, but it didn't last long, which he was thankful for. he normally had fifteen minutes to gather his bearings and tidy up the room for his next client, so when he heard the light knock on the door he was more than confused but made no effort to attend it because of the pain that overshadowed his body.
his ears perked at the recognisable voice - a voice that he hadn't been able to forget.
a shimmer of hope glistened through his eyes - he couldn't believe that taeil was here - here to take him away, here to collect him, here to ease the pain- all these thoughts brought a wide smile to his face because his dream of escaping was finally happening. with that thought in mind, he ignores the immense pain travelling through his back and the rest of his body to rush to the door, but as he held onto the door knob, his mind correlated itself.
he hadn't provided the other with any information about his location and his line of occupation so how ... how did the other find him? how did the other find out that he was here? several ideas and possibilities crossed his mind but the one that daunted him the most was the idea that the other was here simply for a service, and it happened to be a coincidence that he found hyojong.
his heart couldn't accept this fact and began to create different excuses for the situation - one being that the person that hid behind the door was definitely not taeil, but perhaps someone that sounded like him - as absurd as it sounded. he wiped his swollen eyes and tear stained face before opening the door widely using all his strength to do so.
upon seeing the other in front of him, his heart immediately sank – taeil was here, he was here, he was here for ... - he was here for a service. the disappointment traced across his features for a split second but being the pushover, he was, he hid his pain and smiled - he smiled brightly - he smiled to hide the pain that lingered deep in his chest because the other was here for a service, and not exclusively for him.
he stayed in that position for a few minutes, attempting to get his pained heart to reconcile the situation, but he couldn't find any other way of explaining it - it was black and white. he couldn't suppress the tears that burnt the back of his eyes as they forced themselves to overflow his eyelids, and once again being the pushover, he was, he hid the pain by glancing down, away from the other to mumble under his breath a quiet "hello."
deep pain burnt his body, but he couldn't just simply discard the other especially when a service had been paid for and well, the owners would eventually find out if he had so the best option was to continue. he was truly disappointed, and gave no choice for the other to say anything as he limped towards the bed, making no effort to cover himself with the silk robe that slowly fell from his shoulders, uncovering the fragile frame that carried immense bruises.
he hadn't realised that he was crying until he sat down on the bed, he couldn't make out his vision as it was so blurry from the tears. he pushed his bruised legs apart and gave the other a small yet encouraging smile. "i-i'm.. i'm your for to-tonight, use me, taeil", he said weakly, a phrase used with all clients.
no one else but himself could be blamed for the pain he felt - it was his fault for clinging onto someone that was a mere stranger. it was his fault for being so clingy. it was his fault for attaching so quick. it was his fault for being so naive. it was his fault for being stupid. it was his fault for thinking and believing that /someone/ - anyone would see him in that light.
@♡ hyojong k。 Taeil couldn't believe the little air of disappointment in the other's tone and so hard to pull apart from his usual traits of indifference.
"Tomorrow." he repeated softly, not really fond of rushing anything if he was courting. Humans are quick to fall to their first needs with their new found lovers and jump to another insignificant experience. The least Taeil knows of their kind is how dates are overrated, so rushing into another one so quick tends to prevent him from getting enough time to find what a human would give some of his soul for.
The moment he inhaled to tease Hyojong for being so eager to see him again, he noticed the other's red cheeks, the dismissing hand gesture which he supposed made of Hyojong someone maybe just clingy. Nothing he was scared to deal with. He gazed at the other's face, how even this close he tried to hide how clingy he was and Taeil bit on his own bottom lip, wondering if this one wasn't a little old school, needing just someone who'd want to look after him every day. An issue in prospect but a clear change to people looking for power, money, ability to reproduce and what not.
He huffed to hearing the other's demand for he wouldn't forget. Maybe after a century he would, but not for Hyojong's life nope; it was too cute and unexpected to forget.
Taeil hummed to the soft kiss, shaking his head lightly. "Thank you too." he said, wondering why this date seemed to have mattered that much to this pretty boy when the Fallen Angel was the one in dire need when he provoked their closeness.
He watched the taxi disappear from his view and went in the closest deserted and gloomy alley. Of course he wouldn't leave to luck his next meeting with Hyojong. He had purposely asked no address and did not intend to spam the other with texts either. There was so much he could learn by himself, a flight away from his position.
Dark grey wings seemed to unfold out of nowhere in his back, deploying to propell him in the sky, way too high and fast for human eyes to see, but just where he could track the taxi taking Hyojong back to the place he called home. He settled on a roof opposing the motel and watched the other go in, how against all odds, this place explained a lot about the weak hope he witnessed in the other's eyes, how this place was the type any human would do anything to escape, accepting even a fake date.
Taeil decided to stay on that spot for more hours of the night, laying on his back in the dark, a faint smile curling his lips. A human living in such a place had certainly needs, many of them, ardent needs that wouldn't pertain to lust he figured. A human like Hyojong was blessed bread for Fallen Angels, but to him, Hyojong was still a human he'd honestly want to grant a chance at something if things went well.
Back in his home, Taeil rested and waited for the next evening, laying on his couch, before he went back to the motel. He knew too much to just let the other wait for so long. He would be the creep and Hyojong would be found as a , but both were sinners and that made it square, as far as Taeil was concerned.
Taeil went to the exact door he had seen Hyojong go in and knocked, dressed in different clothes but still as black as the day before, denims maybe tighter, dark eyes emphasized by a little black eye-liner on the edge. He liked how they contrasted each other, how hyojong blushed for both the day before, but most of all, Taeil loved to give the human, this time carrying a bag of more takeaway chinese food they really needed, but maybe enough for Hyojong to let him in and cancel any potential rendez-vous for the evening.
"Hyo..." he called, figuring the other wouldn't open so easily considering how dangerous clients could be. "I bring the feast to you." he added with a smile, pressing his ear to the door.
@♥ taeil m。 "oh", was all that managed to leave hyojong's lips as the other talked about their next date and he was slightly disappointed by the dates as he was hoping to see the other as soon and often as possible. he inwardly cursed his heart for aching in disappointment even with the constant reminder that he needed to keep his hopes very low. but with that in mind, his heart yet again contradicted itself.
"well.. of course, you don't have to accept but.. i was hoping that we would meet tomorrow?", it took him several minutes for his mind to finally make sense of what he uttered and once he did his face turned into a deep shade of pink, and he waved his free hand in front of his face dismissing his words afraid that the other may reject his own proposal.
"forget what i said --", he added, making as much effort as possible to look away from the other - too shy and nervous to look at the other in front of him, and well the fact that they were standing mere inches from each other made the situation worse. the other had an overly special ability of causing hyojong to become a little pile of soft gloop.
he fumbled with his fingers, it took him more than several minutes of debating but before stepping into the cab, he leant slowly, faces inching closer and closer and as nerve-racking as it was – he was eager to show appreciation for all the things he did for him today, and hence placed a soft chaste kiss on the other's cheek while allowing the words "thank you for everything", slip past his lips.
as a route to escape the giddy feeling that tumbled around in his stomach, he rushed inside the cab, clumsily and he couldn't stop himself from inwardly cursing himself at his own childish acts - he was like a little boy that had a crush on someone, and as much as he wanted to remain stoic, he just couldn't. the bubbling feeling in his chest grew stronger by each minute, and he couldn't do anything to stop it from happening.
the smile lingering on his lips remained until the cab driver took off.
as the driver approached the destination, the other's smile diminished into thin air, because reality struck him, he would have to return back to /that/. he had forgotten that this was the reality of his life, and that the reality with taeil was fictional. he chewed gently on his lower lip while glancing back out of the mirror, sadly, his eyebrows furrowing together across his forehead, in hope that the other would be there but of course not - they were too far away from the pickup point.
@♡ hyojong k。 How about him.
Taeil laughed softly as he was teased by the human about the age. While the human’s age to him didn’t matter at all but was asked out of courtesy, his should matter for how unnatural it was for a being of his kind to be dating a mere man in his twenties. He had to decide on his age and really, Taeil had kept no precise record of the age he passed at. He just skipped jobs and towns once his looks betrayed him and got away with immortality.
He wouldn’t like being lied to and finding out about it, but really, as much as he’d be honest about his nature with some humans he has known for a while, he wouldn’t take the risk with a new acquaintance. “Then we might have a problem” he confirmed without giving any detail. They would have a problem if he revealed he was older than the guy’s grand-grand-and this could go on-grandfather. What difference would it make if he was younger though, that amused the Fallen Angel, eager to find out.
He hummed and nodded positively to the other’s surprise, slowly realizing it would be a wrong timing to tease Hyojong about his lack of self-confidence. No, but it was evil enough to take advantage of this to get a second date. It would be easier than planned to turn their fake date into a real one after all.
He watched as the male’s eyes escaped his, failing to find a point to fix and stuttering cutely. This used to be one of the reasons why he loved humans, why he wanted to protect them. But now he saw this as free passes to use their weakness and slight of self-protection.
Taeil on the other hand, was a little, tiny bit, weak to the prospect of catching Hyojong kiss the Plushie he had labelled as a smaller version of him.
“Oh, I see: by any chance: did you wish for me to walk you to your place? I’m a danger on the roads so I don’t use my driving licence anymore…” he explained, omitting that he preferred flight. It would always be too soon to show his wings, and he didn’t want to have this human think he had gone crazy, that was reserved for humans he despised.
“But I could call a cab for you. Actually I should. that’s what real dates do.” He pressed his hand to the little of the other’s back so as to lead him to little stalls that offered food at the end of the alley. “But you can’t go home without some more food. I really don’t want you to trick anyone else into getting you food and dating you.” He said and smirked, acting possessive when really, he wouldn’t mind to not be the only one. He was special enough. If another Fallen Angels was involved however, Taeil would not be so nonchalant anymore.
“Pick at least sweet you want to take home.” he said after he gave money to the vendor and he left the human, raising a hand by the side of the road to have a cab stop. He’d cut the other some slack despite his curiosity and he’d act like a gentleman, giving enough money in advance for the average fare and an extra for the driver to help Hyojong carry his plushie bag to his door. When those instructions were given, Taeil’s eyes looked for the human he considered as his sole prize for the day, and maybe for the coming weeks at least, courting being slow and calculated. “In a week from now, we will meet again, here, 8pm.” He had to leave the human waiting for that long, just to create a need, but he also needed to impose the timeline just to see if Hyojong would bend to his will. He hoped the other would or he would have to get involved with him by using his powers, which was a dangerous game to play
@♥ taeil m。 "well, erm - i'm kim hyojong and i'm twenty years old - what about you taeil? if you say you're younger than me, then we have a problem.", he teased a little but hoped that the other male was younger just, so he could be teased a little even if he seemed a little too dominant to be teased all the time. just like the other requested he leant in to press a harmless kiss on the others cheek, having the little plushie separate them but the small chaste kiss on the other's skin was cut short at the offer proposed.
his eyes widened. he fumbled over his words once again, not being to formulate anything stable, deciding to remain quite for a couple of minutes as he slowly digested the words into his head.
"y-you want to see me again?", he repeated out in the open mostly to himself than anyone else - he was astonished that the other would like to see him again. yes, they did click really well together but he never expected the other to want to see him again – not so soon at least. using his experience from watching movies, he knew that these particular situations didn't end as it had done right now. but he was truly glad, and it meant that the other enjoyed his company.
he definitely ignored the little flutter of hope in his heart - he wasn't allowed to assume that this perhaps would be different. he refused to believe that this would go in his favour. he was frightened - frightened that things would escalate between them and he wouldn't be able to keep up the barriers that would protect him from the worst because he had a tendency of getting attached too quickly which always put him a lower pedestal. he was accustomed to situations that didn't go in his favour and believed that perhaps this would be the same, but even with all these negative thoughts that lingered and pondered in his mind, his heart contradicted itself.
"of course, i-i want to see you again too.", he said sheepishly, allowing his eyes to dart across the event back and forth, in hope to find something - anything - that would keep him from looking at the other, actually finding the situation a little intimidating and embarrassing, and he knew that if he looked at the other he would definitely blush.
"but - but, i have the plushies to take home, i'll have too much to carry and no ways of carrying it - like you said i only have to pairs of hands, and my hands are occupied with little taeil.", he replied back, dropping his lips to press against the plushies forehead.
he appreciated deeply taeil's kindness, but it wasn't necessary at this point because he knew he had to return back to the whorehouse - he would have to return in order to see another day, and this time see taeil - he had to survive the next day in order to see the male in front of him. giving him the courage and strength to withstand almost anything - he had been in the house for years now, and well it would be okay to continue staying there until he moved in with taeil.
@♡ hyojong k。 There was an undeniable scent of fear in the air which Taeil generally associated with his looks. It was an idea that had dug into his head, that with the loss of his Angelic grace, he had the coldness in his eyes that just spoke into any human’s soul at his mercy. He ignored the fear, thinking Hyojong himself wouldn’t know where it came from, and instead he pondered on the way his hands were pushed away, the bite to the other’s tone and the lack of emotion on Hyojong’s face. There was pain and denial, just what Taeil wished to scratch and seize.
He didn’t feel jealous, but as his date, he was obligated to accept the guilt and figured he was done poking that subject for the day.
“Of course I’m fluffy.”
Taeil commented, but his smile wasn’t as smug as intended, because Hyojong was in his full dating mode again, wide grin and hyper tone, his warm human hand in his and the Fallen Angel liked him better that way. Not because he was setting the mood to ask for more, but simply because they owed each other nothing when they met and yet they helped each other.
His eyes were attracted by the human’s face, /just for a plushie/.
He let himself wonder how it would be to get Sapor only for winning a plushie. Because right now, it seemed Hyojong’s day was made by the toy he hugged to his chest.
So to see him reluctantly decide to part from it had Taeil frown a little. He remained silent, feeling like there was a sensational debate going on in the other’s head and the need to listen to his thoughts gnawed at Taeil. It was never fun to know before things would be revealed to him; he had all the time in the world to figure Hyojong out after all.
Finally the trade offer came and Taeil inhaled deeply, his lips curling a little. Next thing, he stopped their walk by standing in the other’s way, looking at the human with a little smirk.
“Of course I want a kiss on the cheek.” he stated but next he tilted his head a little and looked at the human tenderly. “But this is just our actual first date. If you give me a kiss to the cheek now, it will escalate really quick. Which is crazy because there are so many other things from you I’d love to have, like your last name? Your age maybe?”
He chuckled to himself, because as a Fallen Angel, he didn’t care much for those but for the human he portrayed, it was supposedly of the first importance.
“I could be wishing to be hugged like that plushie maybe but I will sit on all those and digest all my jealousy, because it upset you earlier. All I ask of you is for a little more of your time on a second date.” His eyes dropped from Hyojong’s eyes, but this time to look at the human from head to toes like he had earlier. “I’d rather leave with the hope to see you again. Besides, I know you will still cover little me with kisses once I’m gone, but he can’t take you on a date can he?” To this Taeil smiled. His mind was made up and there was no coming back: he was interested into this human’s soul, into his taste, Courtship was already began as far as he was concerned.
“IF-” he suddenly added a little louder to be sure this info would be given before Hyojong would reply to his demand: “if you accept to give me a second date, I will buy you more food before I let you go home, so that both your hands are too busy carrying stuff to get pulled by another stranger.”
Taeil smirked, his thumb caressing the back of the hand he held against his.
@♥ taeil m。 the way in which the other hands came to cup his cheeks, made him flinch a little and instinctively close his eyes but once he felt the delicate hand on his warm cheeks, he understood he wasn't in danger and he couldn't help but crack his eyes open, the blush becoming more prominent on his skin and if it was possible the blush illuminating the area around them. the initial shock was replaced with a stoic expression that mentally debated on whether he should explain his situation to the other and well, him being a stubborn as always he once again dismissed the situation this time much better than before. "it was to make you jealous, of course and well it worked.", a faint chuckle left his lips to dismiss the situation again but unlike the other times this was laced pain and lacked enthusiasm - that he was so hard attempting to cover up, but to only to make things clearer he pulled the other hands away, the small smile that played on his lips turning sour as he looked away.
the tense mood lingered between them for a little while, but it was thrown off when the other began playing the game properly with his cocky charismatic self and hyojong was totally amazed with how many prizes the other was able to win but once the overly large sea turtle plushie was handed to him, all hyojong could do was jump in excitement like a little kid as a little gasp escaped his lips. "ah~!!", he grinned widely at the other, taking the plushie into his hold and giving it the tightest squeeze ever before exclaiming "he's so fluffy!"
seeing the way, the other extended his hand brought a wide smile to his lips and well he took it almost automatically, pushing his fingers along the cracks of the others, before turning his attention to the other male as they walked. his eyes glanced down at the 'little taeil' plush that he decided to name with a strong smile, but it diminished at the mention of giving something in return. "oh," was all he could generate because he couldn't really afford to provide anything to the other and thank him for the sweet "date" even though to him it was all fake, although he truly hoped the other thought otherwise.
"i don't have anything that i can give you,", he mumbled a little under his breath, once again glancing down at the plushie in his grip and well since he couldn't afford to give anything to the other he just decided to hold out the plushie, giving it back to its rightful owner even though the action tugged at his heart. "you can have it back --", but it clicked perhaps he could keep the toy and give something to the other but it intitled that type of behaviour that was not truly accepted by society.
he gathered up any effective ways of demonstrating his genuine gratitude and the only thing that he could come up with was a kiss on the cheek, although the thought in itself was so embarrassing, and didn't have as much value as what the other had provided, but it would have some significance and hoped that the other would accept it since it was it was the only thing that he could provide. "... do you want a kiss on the cheek, because i can do that,"
@♡ hyojong k。 Taeil didn’t need to take a look at the human to know this was a figurative acrobatic to both avoid the subject and jump to another. It was a plain dismiss of his inquiry and it made the Fallen Angel chuckle. Still he leaned forward a little, eyes following one duck as his priority before he’d chase Hyojong on the topic. Really, lies worked better. Call him a soon to be Demon to almost forgive a lie but leave no escape to someone trying to avoid a question, but the topic would rise again.
The higher pitch was the way to distract him from the ducks. Taeil glanced at Hyojong in surprise and his breath hitched in his chest. It was the type of things he could command, simply because he could appear as human or just quit breathing if he had something on his mind. But here, he lost control shortly, unable to do the breathing, the gazing and the thinking: was Hyojong being /cute/?
The idea made his interest sparkle by itself. His eyes darted back to the ducks, his mouth gaping just enough to run his tongue under his top tier, still distracted by the red cheeks and pouty lips. Okay, maybe he liked the concept of a cute, cute date; maybe this was not fake anymore.
He let out a small whine after being told he missed a few ducks. “I did not miss them, I just know they won’t give me any good prize.”
And as he spoke, he lost his best opportunity to isolate the duck he was chasing and for this reason he sighed in maybe ten percent annoyance, twenty percent tease, and seventy percent drama. He his heels and faced Hyojong.
“You do know I have a lucky hand for picking things, I mean I found you. I know what’s a precious prize and what’s not.”
What was fake, was his ability to guess which ducks would give him the best prizes. He just got lucky when his hand picked Hyojong, pretty, single and hungry in the crowd.
Was it possible to argue and sound cocky while being cheesy and sweet? Yes, as far as Taeil was concerned. “Now, since you distracted my lucky hand with your precious lips, trying to dodge my question, let’s get back to it.”
He secured the make-do fishing cane between his thighs, and cupped the other’s cheeks with both hands, thumbs brushing the warm spot delicately.
“Baby,” he called very sweetly, but looking rather serious, eyes focused on the human.
“I won’t judge you, but I just want you to tell me why you looked at them like that. It seemed you wanted a piece of what they were having…” He lowered his voice, excluding no option. “Maybe you even wanted to join them. I felt a little left out. It’s not cool to keep your date out of the loop.”
It was about time he called this a real date, just to see if Hyojong would blush or laugh first. He retrieved his hands, and rested them on the other’s shoulders to make sure he wouldn’t flee so easily. It had been a while since he had wished to use some powers to read someone’s mind, but this one, he hoped he’d speak by himself.
His eyes insisted on the other’s red lips for the first time and he smirked: “I feel lucky again. Watch me get the best prize.”
He turned and picked the last duck of his batch in one go. He held onto that one while the vendor collected all the prizes, all plushies. They exchanged the last duck for a plushie and Taeil smirked in proud, because this was some demon luck: the plushie of a sea turtle, one animal that held more meaning to him than he could speak of. “There. This plushie’s name is Taeil, you have to carry it personally.” he said and kept all the others, smaller ones, in a bag. He offered his free hand to Taeil and smiled. “We can’t call this a real date if you don’t give me something. And I just gave myself to you.”
@♥ taeil m。 the needing to belong and attach was referred as being one of the innate behavioural responses that all humans needed, the need grew larger if one was deprived from those needs and well hyojong was definitely deprived so upon seeing such a lovey dovey act before him - something that he had never managed to have definitely made him jealous. he wanted to be able to have what all others had in this little event and not something fake and impure and he and the other had.
deep down in his heart, he was hoping that perhaps this - them holding hands - would be real, and not an act to fit in with the rest of the population, but now he was just dreaming for the impossible.
his laughter died down when the other brushed past him, and he almost considered apologising for his behaviour until he realised that this was another tendency from the other male - it was cute, and for some odd reason he wanted to unleash more of these behaviours that the other seemed to have. he followed the other obediently as he searched for a booth to prove his abilities, and well hyojong could only enjoy the way the other was behaving from his little teasing and wondered how else he could tease the other male in front of him.
he was taken aback at the personal question, almost not knowing what the other was referring to, until he realised that his previous actions could have been considered a little out place. the feeling of jealousy in his heart was the reason for his behaviour earlier. time and time again, he had searched for that unconditional love - hoping that someone would enter his life and give him that burning passion of love that he, oh so desperately, needed but most of his "relationships”, were meaningless and unrequited.
how could one find love in a whorehouse?
he wasn't here to forget anyone in particularly, or to look for someone as well. no, he was there because he wanted leverage from that whorehouse, he wanted to break the chains that tied him to that business for several years - he wanted to be in control of his actions but there was a daunting feeling that perhaps the escape he searched for was not going to be acquired today - he had made no progress of finding a place to stay, and well just like the other he had no money to take care of him and well just a pretty face wouldn't help him in this cruel world.
what was he thinking?
was it safe to mention his desires to someone that he had met within a couple of hours, he wasn't ready to share his deepest emotions with anyone and therefore decided to dismiss the other words. "i don't really know what you're talking about...", he said simply, deciding to come a little closer to the other while pointing at the several ducks that the other had missed. "if you don't pay attention, you won't win anything.", he whined a little, bringing his voice a little octave higher than normal to seem cute and pouty hoping the other liked his little antics, but to his own surprise his actions made him blush, just a little.
it wasn’t regular for him to blush, but it was becoming more like a habit with taeil, and well he wasn’t denying that he liked it, but he was definitely concerned that these uncommon behaviours would affect his heart and make him see things that perhaps weren’t there and with that he decided to tread along the lines with taeil, very carefully, even though his heart was contradicting itself.
@♡ hyojong k。 Taeil smiled from the moment he saw the human struggling to even make a sound to his tease, pushing his cheekbones so high and making sure that was enough of a reply to the other’s mumbles. He did enjoy how easily they made up for each other’s lacks, his being -human- company and Hyojong’s being someone to buy him food, for all he knew.
Crazy how humans could forget everything in the whole world if they felt close to satisfying just one tiny craving. This was the foundation of the Fallen Angels’ business on Earth, and without meaning to be a part of it today, Taeil witnessed how a human’s looks went from indifferent and self-conscious to just /thirsty/ in a split second. He wouldn’t play on it, not this time, because without knowing, this human had made himself his prey in the eyes of any other celestial being at this festival. For Taeil to know if he should pursue more, he would need to know what Hyojong craved so much he would trade a bit of his soul for.
He didn’t gaze too long, satisfied enough with the sight of pleasure on the blonde’s face when he munched on the hot cheesy bun on a stick.
The comparison to the actual couple in the middle of their lovey-dovey feeding was only meant to get some snap from the human, that and a blush certainly, anything that could entertain the Fallen Angel. So Taeil fell a little short when he noticed Hyojong stared at the couple, his hold on his hand tightening. This, this was envy and he was well placed to know about it. Minutes went by and Taeil thought about those humans who’d give their soul for someone to be at their bedside everyday, a platonic bond, as if they had been born with a significant half and separated from them, creating a major dependency on someone that just doesn’t exist. Taeil was about sure Hyojong looked at that couple with more envy than he did at food earlier, which he found interesting although he wouldn’t use it already. As for the snap he seeked, he got his share when the human purposefully sticking the greasy mix to the corner of his lips and to his cheek.
“Lovely.” His monotone voice trails and he watches the other laugh. He can’t deny it’s a curious sight. His own lips curl but he looks away, tapping his own pockets for a tissue or something and of course he doesn’t find any. And the cherry on the top is Hyojong, starting another fit by himself, and Taeil is of course amused but ends up being the one that snaps “hey! Don’t you think I will be charming enough to not have my revenge for this”, eventually giving up on stopping the human from laughing. He used the fact that Hyojong had let go of his hand to quietly wipe his cheek and lips with his thumb, chich he and asked a nearby vendor for a proper wipe.
“I’ll show you clumsy.” he mumbled when he brushed past Hyojong, a defiant look on his face as he walked to the first fishing duck booth he saw. He needed a win, leaving the human to eat and mock him. The friendly get together on those festival were about the same taste anyway, getting teased and sliding in some real heart to heart thoughts Fallen Angels just weren’t ready to deal with.
The game itself wasn’t hard, unless you were a kid, but hooking random ducks was relaxing and always a win.
“You’re naming all plushies I’m winning, so that you get attached and you can never throw them away. Anyway, were you here to look for someone or to forget about someone? You kinda undressed that couple with your eyes earlier...” he said, barely glancing at Hyojong, hoping to get the reason behind all the envy.
@♥ taeil m。 he opened his mouth a couple of times attempting to find the right words to snap back at the other words but nothing pleasantly coherent formulates in his mind and he just ends up pouting, mumbling a little something underneath his breath. "don't act like you're not enjoying being with me."
the sight of the treat caused hyojong to his lips half unintentionally and just like a puppy, his eyes drooped in hope to get a piece of the treat and when it was handed to him without much effort, he obediently took it, and began munching as if it was the last thing on this earth.
the word “home” caused him to have a mixture of emotions - he didn't know exactly what the other meant by that, but he was hoping that they would go to taeil's home, and not hyojong's because his home was a business - it was definitely nothing that was portrayed in the mainstream media, but something distorted between a motel and a whorehouse.
he examined the couple before them, and glanced down at their own hands still intertwined together - comparing ourselves to others was also a natural instinct for us humans, to understand where in the social hierarchy we stood and to determine our self-worth and well, he didn't feel all too great because he knew that /this/ wasn't real and in fact it was an act but he wasn't opposing instead he gripped taeil's hand a bit tighter than before, unintentionally, as he stared enviously at the couple - for the longest time he had searched and searched for something meaningful and yet always returned to the same social status.
why didn't he have that? why couldn't he find that? why was he alone?
he slowly turned his attention to the male, oblivious to the fact that he had been staring and thinking for good long minutes, as he brought the treat to the males lips he couldn't help but smile widely, deciding to also tease the male by smearing a bit of the food on his cheek, "accidently".
"oops,", he said jokingly while shrugging his shoulders, fully aware of his actions and having no intention of apologizing or interrupting the laughter that broke out from his lips. although having initially been upset the couple of moments ago, he couldn't deny that he was enjoying this interaction with another person a bit too much for his own good.
he snorts lightly when the laughter slowly dies down and tilts his head to the side only slightly with a teasing grin playing nicely on his lips. "wow, taeil, i didn't know that you were this clumsy but it's fu --.", he couldn't help but burst into another fit of laughter, his hand slipping from the others hold to come and cover his mouth in hope to stop himself from laughing but to no vail.
@♡ hyojong k。 Taeil was amused to at the visible surprise over his instant-date’s face. As far as he was concerned, the other was certainly taken aback by his self confidence in winning so many games there would be too many prizes to carry. It was his turn to widen his eyes at his potential help which the human considered a given. Looking at this stranger and guessing what were his expectations, Taeil had to comply. “I guess I could lend you my arms, but I only have two of them.” he said apologetically, a lopsided smile appearing when he witnessed the smile on the other's face. It had been a long time since he rejoiced to make someone laugh, because humans had the power to depress him and Fallen Angels didn't have fun for nothing. This situation was unusual, not serious but by far the closest thing to delightful he had known in months. He smiled, both content the other would stick around and that his charms worked just fine: light pink on Hyojong’s cheek was like a drop of blood on an immaculate Angel gawn: inexplicably pleasing to the eye.
“Nice to meet you, Hyojong who doesn't carry money and lets strangers take him by the hand like they've been dating you for months. Actually I feel lucky for finding you in the crowd randomly.”
Taeil sure was confused for a second but with a little delay, he chose to ignore all reasons why this human went around without any money. At least, Taeil didn't fear a pickpocket, so he shrugged off the doubts, turning it in a light joke.
“Is the business of strangers claiming dates so flourishing you can just look pretty and assume someone will be bound to treat you?” he teased shamelessly, not exactly expecting an answer but rather proud to be someone's luck.
He snapped out of the teasing when the stick was handed to him. All Taeil did was reach and give the treat to his guest here before he proceeded with the payment. He patted his own belly, eyeing the buns but in all honesty, demons like him needed far more that the usual food. To be at his best.
“Come on, lets just hop at all food stall and feed you enough so that you don't miss your wallet. If you think this is my way to distract you from games, you might not entirely be wrong but for my defense: if I carry prizes then I can't carry you home so I hope you're in full strength to walk around once your belly is full.”
He commented, eyes caught by the many couples around. This Festival really looked like the ideal spot for lovers, and somehow Taeil wondered if the human was as left behind as he was in this place.
“Hey, /Date/, will you let me taste that delicious food I gave you?” he said, mostly joking and yet (impolitely) pointing at a couple doing the nasty couple feeding. Any pretext was okay to see Hyojong blush again.
@♥ taeil m。 his eyes widen at the mention of "home", it sparked the thoughts that he had discarded upon meeting the taller male, and it made his heart ache but none of these feelings were portrayed.
he was good at hiding his emotions, almost frighteningly good.
he still needed to find somewhere to stay otherwise he would return back to the business that he had attempted to escape countless of times, and well sticking around with the taller male wasn't really helping his situation - in fact it was making him oblivious to the future consequences.
once again, he managed to discard the thoughts, and apply full attention to the male in front of him, wanting to indulge himself into this role as much as possible before having to return to reality that waited for him. "of course, i'll be able to take them home - i'm actually quite strong but if i can't carry them then you'll have to help me.", he said putting a lot of emphasis on the word home before allowing a soft chuckle to erupt from his lips. he didn’t expect it, the sound of himself laughing almost sounded foreign. he couldn't remember the last time he had laughed genuinely, and it felt good to be doing so again even if the situation he found himself in was completely fake.
he stumbled across his words a couple of times, his natural instinct was to introduce himself as he did to all his customers but the male in front of him was not a customer and definitely didn't want that sort of business with him, so how.. how would he introduce himself? he was constantly reminded to use nicknames within his business to conceal his identity, but he didn't feel that this was necessary at this moment. even if his rationale was telling him to not trust the other he did so anyway. "nice to meet you taeil, i'm hyojong and if you don't mind then please buy me something to eat, you see... i didn't bring any money with me --" he added a bit too much information, something that he was always scolded for because he had no filter but for some particular reason today, right in this moment, he had a filter and couldn't really explain why.
hyojong didn't know for how long the other male was staring and examining all of his features, but he did know that at this point he was blushing like a mad man, and all he could do was pretend to be in oblivion but when the other asked him a question, it took him more than a couple of minutes to turn his head to the other afraid that the other would notice the redness lingering across his features. "the offer sounds too good to refuse, taeil."
@♡ hyojong k。 Overpowering a human, this human in particular would be a child’s play for Taeil. Even just for show, he could be rude in public, Fallen Angels were well, not angels anymore. But he had no intention in making that kind of show. And luckily, when he left the other a window open for flight, the stranger lock in on his hand, a warm and somewhat confident hold on his hand lifting a part of the guilt Taeil felt for dragging an innocent in his non-began Sapor chase.
His tiers tugged on a smile that a content sigh expended. To say that Taeil was surprised by the other’s easy act, would be an understatement. For just these words, this sweet smile no by-standing demon would take as mischief, Taeil owed the human. Crazy how he needed to keep his head high more than get the actual elixir for a better existence on Earth.
“You know, I said that because I really can win all plushies for you, but will you have enough arms to take them all home?” he mused, tender eyes settling on the human, dismissing all thoughts about the fellow Fallen Angel.
They were in the way, so Taeil immediately pulled the slightly shorter male’s hand closer and was the first make a path for the two of them in the crowd. He glued his arm to his side, holding the other’s hands gently just against the back of his thigh as his shoulders secured a path for them in the crowd. It was only a few steps later that he remembered this maybe didn’t feel so casual to his human counterpart. He looked at the other, barely catching a clear sight of the other’s blue-colored eyes behind the frizzy-cloudy candy blonde fringe, and mouthed a smooth ‘Thank you’. He led the way to the side of the main alley, taking the place of the last two customer who left with their deep fried mozza-sausage bun on a stick. It smelled good, sugary even and Taeil wanted a taste. To justify their presence in that stall he greeted the stallkeeper and asked for one regular before he looked at his company, his hand not quite set on letting go, but not deathly locked either.
“Aside from being actually hungry, I am Taeil and I’d be pleased to offer you anything to eat if this smell woke your stomach like it did mine.”
This was not courting, this was payback for changing someone’s plans, but for a Fallen Angel, it was so easy to shift to his dating mode as if it was his only mode. His eyes would find no better interest than in the male whose hand he didn’t wish to let go just yet, and no matter how thrilling it was to see the bun being plunged into hot oil, Taeil only had eyes for the unknown male next to him. For his pale complexion, for his red, red and very distracting lips. It was a charm typical to his kind, the skill of looking at one human like he’s the only one in the whole world, but at this moment the shorter male meant the whole world to him. He was of course growing curious of the small details, of his looks and fashion not so passively. Taeil himself wore his denims, shirt and cardigan, all black without distinctive signs, molding his long limbs close to the skin as usual. But his haircut was always styled to catch the eyes, hair a mix of chestnut and amber shades, marrying the taint of his iris almost too perfectly.
“I really don’t have a date and I owe you big time, so if you have some time to spare me, you could get free food and those plushies as promised.”
@♥ taeil m。 it was unusual for hyojong to be out of the "business" so early in the day, but today like many others he decided that he had enough. it was time to chase the tale that he so often dreamt of - the fairy-tale story that he lost when his parents left him.
he could no longer be the weakly that smiled through his pain but the weakly that grew through his mistakes - he needed to acquire the basic knowledge of the world and not be consumed by the idea that ion and escorting was the only option for him. he needed to discard all them years of lies in order to progress but being fed the same constant lie over and over again made him passive, and well he soaked those lies as if he was a sponge.
as the night grew darker, he grew more confused about his whereabouts - being ingulfed in his thoughts, hyojong hadn't noticed that he had managed to enter a little event deep in the heart of the town, until a firm hand yanked him forward, pulling him clumsily through the bustle of people into a small gathering between the hustle and bustle. after apologising vigorously to the people, he had bumped into, his eyes landed upon the slightly taller male that had yanked, and the other male but like he had expected he didn’t recognise either and that in its self was his cue to leave.
he was ready to excuse himself from the awkward situation but as he attempted to move away he still felt that tight but yet gentle grip around his wrist, which caused him to raise his gaze to scan the unfamiliar faces once again, properly. it only took mere seconds for him to understand the situation before him and, well, to help the other that desperately needed it, he decided to put on his best impersonation of the perfect boyfriend - the ones that he regularly fantasized about. hyojong didn't miss the opportunity to intertwine their fingers together when the other loosen his grip around his wrist just slightly, allowing his fingers to slip into the cracks of the other's almost perfectly as a sweet smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "of course, we can, but just like you said you have to win me all the plushies afterwards."
he didn't quite understand why he stayed, and why he was examining the slightly taller male from head to toe but it definitely had something to do with the fact that he kind of enjoyed the idea of being in a "relationship" with someone, even if it was all a charade to impress the people around the other, he was definitely going to use this opportunity to forget about the reality that waited for him and understand what true relationships required.
@♡ hyojong k。 It was one of those little events in town where you could see Fallen Angels gathering, simply because this was an easy date spot. There are tiny food stalls, cute if not simply childish games costing a little too much for the poor quality prizes you may get. There’s traditional music, entertainers of many kinds and pretty decorations under a delighting spring sun that subconsciously encouraged humans to date and fall in love easily. Taeil could feel it, but he had long lost sight of the one prize he needs to evolve and earn a better title than one of a low Fallen Angel. All he wanted, like all years before, was to see his old friends from Paradise, his fellow bottom-feeders for a little laugh or something. But Taeil’s mood turned sour when he noticed all of them were perfectly paired to humans, on dates, out to get that Sapor and he was the last lonely loser. He wished to escape this place and drown his feeling of abandonment in the bottom of the ocean, literally, although he wouldn’t drown, ever.
On his rushed way out of the crowd, he unfortunately bumped into a stranger and he wouldn’t have cared less if that poor man’s pinky wasn’t hooked with another from a Fallen Angel he recognized immediately.
/Looking for something?/
The fellow bottom feeder that was spat out of Hell around the same time as Taeil grinned at him, and maybe did he say nothing at all. But Taeil felt in such disgrace that he took action to keep his head high. It was not his type to act impulsively, even less to put humans in awkward positions, but his hand caught one that had just brushed his and he tugged, his glare to the fellow Fallen Angel turning into a pleading gaze when his round, guilty eyes met with the face of the stranger he had randomly picked as his date for show. It was a man with bleached hair he looked at with more hope that he ever had in humanity since he was casted out of heaven certainly.
“Please” he whispered before he spoke with all the courage he had left: “Can we eat something now? I’m hungry already. I will win all the plushies you wish for after a bite…”
He had no idea if the other Fallen Angel was still around to judge, if a positive answer mattered so much, but Taeil pleaded like his life depended on the said bite, his lips shivering when his breath halted, hand losing just a little of the strength in the bold hold he had on the human.
