blood manipulation quirks are less heard of, but it can be more powerful and dangerous than you think. so what should you do if you come across opponents with a quirk like bloodcurdle?
@☆ kim yongsun Yuqi then felt more confident — at least, she would be able to avoid instant death if ever she had to battle someone with the same quirk as Yongsun. Imagine if villains were capable of using necrogenesis — she imagined that such a thing would bring forth a disaster with so many lives taken. She hoped that would never have to happen, though. The conditions of the ability were vague to her, as she had not heard the full conversation of the heroes from before. "What exactly is the nature of necrogenesis, Miss? Is it okay for us to know how it works? Like how does this 'instant death' happen?" This class was fascinating in her opinion, as she was studying about a quirk she had not much of a chance to learn more about. The others were easily researchable, but she preferred learning directly from the user. It was more accurate that way — plus the more she knew about the others around her, the higher her chances were at winning a fight because of all the knowledge she had gained over the years.
@★ song yuqi A flurry of whispers follow Yuqi's exclamation as the rest of the students present in the classroom seem to catch on and realize the situation for themselves. In response, Yongsun strikes a luminous smile that has the radiance of her aura shine even more brilliant. "Correct. Haemokinesis as a quirk itself poses a hazardous threat and in our historical records, there have been times when leniency with regards to how the knowledge passed onto future generations brought forth negative outcomes. In order to assure past occurrences don't repeat itself, bood benders are now incredibly selective with how and who they pass on more crucial knowledge to. Even within our clan, the elements that compromise forbidden arts are kept highly undisclosed and only a handful of people know how to execute it's prowess. Including myself of course." She reaches up to tuck a rebellious strand of hair behind her ear, the action itself effortless and graceful as she maintains eye contact with everyone. "The world already has so many evils, the last thing I'd want is for such a quirk, as the head of my clan — to be used for treachery despite how it's nature is dangerous on it's own."
@☆ kim yongsun The worry in Yuqi's eyes was not something she could have hidden in the split second it appeared. If breaking free was the only real form of escape if she were to fight a blood bender on her own, that meant she would simply have to make use of her own quirk, which was deemed effective in both long ranged and close combat. There was no other way to it — but if there was, she would gladly research about it. The term 'necrogenesis' rang a bell in her mind, vaguely remembering that she heard it back at the heroes' training center. Granted, it was not something that they were talking in public, and she might or might not have... eavesdropped, but that was beside the point. As she listened more to Yongsun's words, it seemed as though a light bulb above her head when her eyes glinted with realization. "Oh!" She placed her fist above her palm. "The shibitobana clan is a notorious group of blood benders! And you, Miss Kim, are from the shibitobana clan." She then smiled once more, pressing her palms together against each other this time. "That means no one other than your lineage knows how to use it, which will lessen or completely eliminate the chance of us meeting an enemy who can execute necrogenesis!"
@★ song yuqi "Unfortunately no, there is no direct method of prevention. Haemokinesis being an emitter type quirk is meant for long distance combat and there's no telling how a user can impose their abilities on you, of course — the application varies between one user to the other, and how it's executed depends on how mastered the user is in the arts as well. Breaking free upon being captured is the only real form of escape." Yongsun responds, silvery eyes glistening as she regards the petite female with a fond gaze. "It can, yes. An open wound isn't necessarily required for a haemokinetic to be able to manipulate your blood, it actually works both ways. However, let me set your mind at ease—" She glimpses at Yuqi through a drapery of silken strands tinged in white that fell over her eyes. "Instant death in haemokinetic terms is called 'necrogenesis' and it's a forbidden art. There are only a handful of blood bending lineages left in the world, and between them, the shibitobana clan are the only ones who still practice necrogenesis. It is a very ancient form of the art and up til now, only they know the secrets behind it's implementation. Are you aware Yuqi, of this particular clan of blood manipulators? and why I consider this fact to be one which should put your mind at ease?" Yongsun retaliates, her tone gentle as ever.
@☆ kim yongsun Yuqi nodded slowly as she listened attentively to the older woman's words. Now that she thought about it — and heard it directly from her teacher, she could have come to the same conclusion as the answer to Miss Kim's question. She decided not to focus on what she could have done, but instead engraved the main points of the teacher's explanation in her mind. She tapped her finger quietly above her desk, before she pursed her lips, a question popping up in her head at the teacher's last note. "But if a blood bender is able to control even someone else's blood, is there any way for us to prevent that from happening?" she asked, tilting her head slightly to the side. "Haemokinesis can induce instant death, right? Does it only work if you have an open wound that'll allow them access to your blood? Or can you manipulate someone else's blood inside their body without any open wounds?"
@☆ kim yongsun A smile grew on her face at the praise for her answer, glad that she didn't make a complete fool herself while pulling that answer out of her . She listened intently to the rest of the explanation, nodding accordingly and when she learned something new. The end of it sounded kind of cheesy, but a lot of truths had that effect. Still, it was good to know that blood bending wasn't a completely omnipotent quirk. "I see," she said once she was sure Yongsun was done. "That's a relief then. Thank you!"
Her eyes crinkle at their corners, forming lunar crescents following the radiance of her smile while she listens to her student. "A stellar answer Yuqi, and might I add your general understanding and perception on the nature of haemokinesis is incredibly accurate. There is no recorded case in history by which haemokinesis has not taken a permanent toll on the users body. You are correct by associating anemia with haemokinesis. In fact, a large majority of blood manipulators all suffer from varying ranges of anemia which stems from the fact this quirk requires for the user to mostly expend the blood circulating through their own body in spite of being able to draw it from several free-flowing sources. This is due to the fact that blood benders are mostly compatible, if not more comfortable with the use of their own blood for reasons we'll cover during another lesson. Haemokinesis is a quirk which requires an extreme level of precision and concentration in practice − dare I say even more so in battle. The main reason why blood benders are assigned to high threat criminals is because of their ability to finish the job in a clean-cut and efficient manner, which in turn ultimately results in less casualties or environment damage. Accuracy, speed and control serve as the main charms to this quirk − and to keep all three balanced in a way which will not harm the user while simultaneously completing the assigned mission at hand — that too, under high pressure situations — is not an easy task. It is for the sake of the users health that the world of heroism refuses to have them attend to lesser criminals, because every ounce of blood that the user exhausts will directly affect their lifespan. Haemokinesis is considered to be the grim reaper among quirks since it plays with life and death. It is also important to note that though this quirk can be frighteningly powerful, there are only three known users, including myself, who can last through a battle for more than a few hours before needing to recuperate. So it's safe to say that if you come across a blood bender too powerful to cut down, the most effective alternative would be to force the user to exhaustion before attempting to strike them down."

She turns her gaze, attention immediately falling over to the first student who raised an answer. "Impressive answer, thank you mint. Indeed, intrusive is one of the most suitable phrases to define haemokinesis, and it's true that this particular quirk is notorious for it's fatality due to it's overpowering nature over the mind and body. blood is a very complex and vital part of the human anatomy, it serves a multitude of roles and is something a human cannot exist without. It is quite ironic how the very liquid that naturally keeps you alive can also kill you, and having a quirk that can control the very fluid that breathes life through every nook and crevice in your body only makes it more hazardous. However, it is important to note that blood binding is not something impossible to free oneself from − it just demands an incredibly stable psyche and an extreme level of focus. The quickest way to perish by this quirk is succumbing to the feeling of powerlessness which comes with being completely subdued." She then regards her gaze to the entire class. "It is always important to remember, in the face of imminent death − one must never waver. A quirk may be powerful beyond comprehension, but even the strongest quirk has no effect over a sound heart and mind, and this, my dear poppets, is the basis by which blood bending is rendered useless."
@☆ kim yongsun Blood control class had always been one of the classes that Yuqi was looking forward to attend. She was well aware of how rare it was, and how powerful it could be. Her training before she attended this school played a huge part into making her into what she was then. Personally, she would love to have this quirk, though she did not know much more other than her own assumptions on the ability. Without hesitation, she raised her hand to recite, sitting poised and straight in her seat. Once she was picked, she stood up, cleared , before she beamed brightly at the teacher, her face pleasant and radiant. "Hello, Miss Kim! My name is Song Yuqi and I'm from China. My quirk is dissolution — I am able to dissolve anything with my mind by playing or disrupting the structure of an object or organism. It works well with both living and inanimate beings!" She knew her quirk could be extremely deadly, but she was not the type who would kill without reason — as much as possible, she would try to subdue her enemies without fatally wounding them. It was the conclusion she had come to after she had trained with other heroes; after she had accompanied a few on their expeditions.
"I believe it's because haemokinesis gives you absolute control over your enemies if you so wish for it to happen," she started for her answer. "It is one of the very few quirks that can render your enemies almost completely useless — and with that level, it gives a lot of stress on the user's body. My guess would be that, Miss, you are anemic because of this quirk, am I correct? The stronger the quirk is, I believe, the greater its drawback is as well. The reason why blood benders aren't assigned to small cases is because this quirk is incredibly powerful and it is better suited for stronger enemies, such as villains ranking S to A. I think this quirk is extremely dangerous, both to the enemy and the user too, especially so if it's not wielded in a professional way. As blood bending allows you to subdue — or eliminate — the enemy instantly or overtime, it's almost like you have incredible control over someone's life and death by having control of their blood. Lesser criminals can be easily defeated by other quirks, which is why such a powerful quirk isn't mostly used in common cases." She decided to end her answer on that note, quite unsure if what she had said was the correct answer, but it was what she thought about the topic at hand, and it was simply built up by what she had learned so far. She took a seat once she was done, posture back to straight and perfection, as she awaited the teacher's next words.
@☆ kim yongsun Werábùrùt Academy was a great school; Mint learned pretty much everything she knew about hero work there. However, haemokinetics class was something uniquely Yeongwoong and she was genuinely excited to learn something new. Seated in her usual seat, no matter what the classroom - the middle seat of the middle row - she listened ardently to what the teacher had to say, legs swaying a bit as they didn't really touch the ground. Once the question was posed, she looked around briefly to see if anyone else was going to volunteer, hand poised to shoot up if need be. Nobody was moving, so she raised her hand, waving it a bit. Once she was acknowledged, she got to her feet. "Hi! My name's Kunpat Phonpawiworakun, but please call me Mint," she introduced with a smile. "My quirk is a titanium skeleton and muscle composition which gives me enhanced strength," she finished before pausing. She wasn't actually sure if she knew the answer to the question, but it was worth a shot, right? No harm, no foul. After taking a few moments to gather her thoughts, she spoke up again.
"Um..is it because blood bending is an extremely intrusive and dangerous quirk? I feel like if you can control someone's blood, you pretty much have complete power over them. Even people that have mind or perception altering abilities can be stopped by sheer will and mind power...but I feel like getting into someone's blood is an entirely different league of control..." As she got to the end of her explanation, she kind of trail off since she wasn't entirely sure if her words even made sense. They were a mess in her mind and she hoped they translated well, especially into her third language. In any case, the deed was done, so she sat back down after lingering a bit to be sure she could.
The scintillating rays of sunlight casting through the windows catch her silvery eyes as Yongsun's coruscating gaze calmly sweeps across the classroom. "Good evening my darling poppets, and welcome, to the first haemokinetic's class of the semester. My name is Kim Yongsun and I will be your professor specializing and mastering in the arts of blood bending." Yongsun greets, her soothing voice resonating through the vicinity with an intention to instill tranquility in the hearts of any anxious nerves before she allows a celestial simper to settle upon her roseate brims. "Today, we will be combing through the basics of haemokinesis. First, by delving into the components of it's nature and then, by analyzing one of the beginners methods by which you can defend yourselves against a haemokinetic attack generally utilized by most who possess the quirk." She folds her hands into the flowing sleeves of her kimono as her lips part once more to address her students. "But before I press onto further elaboration, I would like to raise a few questions."
"Haemokinesis is considered to be an incredibly rare quirk, and whoever wields it's prowess must shoulder the heavy responsibilities that come with it. Even in the present world of heroism, Haemokinesis is only permitted to be used against the worst of evils. In fact, blood-benders are strictly prohibited from entering the battlefield unless they are certified masters of the art and are almost never assigned to subdue small time criminals who have committed meagre offenses or don't pose any extreme threat. Now comes my question, why do you think this is so?" She queries, tone gentle. "Since this is my first time teaching the class, please raise your hand before answering the question. It would be much appreciated if you mention your name and quirk as well so I can learn to be familiar with your faces." Yongsun adds, striking another tender smile. (Everyone please answer this question! Don't forget to mention your name + quirk, thank you!)
"To properly introduce you to the topic at hand however, I would like a volunteer for the sake of demonstration. Anyone?" (If someone has already volunteered before you, please skip this section!)
