∘ library

Though previously snarling at the sight of the other man, Jaemin had managed to calm down until that uneasiness began creeping up again. Oh, no wonder why— he, Yan An, had gotten closer again. Probably not purposely— just to collect books of course as that was his job. "Stupid Nana, stop being so self conscious...." He'd accidentally say that aloud causing some stares to come his way.
The pink haired one tried his best to focus on his book, only to sneak glances at the much larger one occasionally. From what he had gathered in such a short time, this person was the weird beta everyone kept spreading rumors about. How tragic. The guy looked harmless; what was so strange about him? Well, everyone probably had the same vibe about him that he also got— "there's something off" but what...

Silently, Nana made the following notes about the new librarian:
| Pretty face, tall, gentle.... Easily irritated maybe? No... Too soft. He's too soft. | Was that it? "Oi, Beta hyung— you missed a book—" Nana was always a great detective, and this time; Yan would be his topic of investigation.

@na jaemin ᵇ The smile was quick to disappear once he realized that he would have a problem with the group of males and he was already sighing, fixing his clothes before approaching them with nervous steps. Oh how he hated approaching someone with bad news. Too focused on the group, Yanan didn't notice the way another boy looked at him and therefore had one thing less to worry about. At least for a moment. In the beginning, it wasn't easy to be noticed by the jocks and even when they did, it was a struggle to make them listen. The alpha didn't like using his status and letting his dominance show but it was necessary and gone as soon as the boys disappeared. He went back to pretending to be the weird beta again and grabbed some books on his way to the shelves which have been left behind. Only then did he notice another presence, the one of a pink haired boy.

@yan an ᵃ The library was Jaemin's only place to go when having a less than amazing day. Already known as the 'weird, pink haired boy' around the university was less than ideal when he moved into his dorm a week ago. Already he was hating college life, and desperately wishing to go back to the way things before he ruined everything.... His life would be peaceful again if he could, however, he'd figure that out later. For now? He had some 'studying' to do. Passing in behind the group of loud, obnoxious jocks that he was positive would get tossed out within a few moments, the male's chocolate brown optics locked on something new in the library; a person fixing books on the building's dusty shelves.
It would be a lie on the younger's behalf to say this didn't make him feel uncomfortable. How dare this 'stranger' just pop in out of the blue just after he had spent all night memorizing all of the workers name's here? Maybe instinct was kicking in, but when he past Yan An? His uneasiness got worse. Usually very calm, stoic even, the pink locked fellow's face changed expression-- it was one of 'distaste'.

@na jaemin ᵇ Another calm day in the quiet library and Yan An couldn't be more glad about it. No noisy students causing a mess, no one bothering him while he's putting back the books which had been left on the table or put back in the wrong shelf. Being tall was nice but constantly being asked to reach for books can get annoying, even for those who love to help. Everyone had his limits after all.
Being known as that weird beta, the chinese male recognized quite a few faces walking into the library and he smiled as a form of greeting, knowing that it could say more than words sometimes and is less annoying if someone turned out to be in a bad mood.
